Colt took the coffee she handed to her and sipped on it. He savored the taste glad he could still taste it. He watched her as she sipped on hers both at a loss of words.
"This is good coffee." He smiled taking another sip.
"Thanks," she said glancing back at her coffee. She was acting like such a spazz! Gah! She wanted to hit her head on the desk over and over again until she stopped acting like a spazz. Which would also mean unconciousness.
"Theres only the front door," Caiden said, "Colt what's going on?"
"There are werewolves here, are you sure theres no other way out?"
"Unless we wanted to go out a window."
"That'll have to work." Colt stood up and grabbed Caiden's arm, dragging her to the back window. He opened the glass window easily and smashed through the screen.
He lifted her off her feet and easily shoved her though, "Caiden run!" he shouted, "I'll be right there!"
Caiden hesitated but at his urging started to run. She turned back once and was tackled by a werewolf. Caught off guard and unarmed she was in deep trouble.
I continued to talk to the girl as we walked, making out way back into the heart of the city. Back and forth our questions went until a vicious snarl tore through the air.
"What was that?"
"I don't know," i answered, looking around. "Come on, lets find out."
We slipped through the deserted streets until we came upon a frightening sight. A young girl was being attacked and overpowered by a werewolf. I immediately sprung into action, shooting off a spell at the beast. It yelped and snarled as the hair on it's back caught fire. It jumped off the girl and towards us.
I pushed Bella behind my back and shot another spell at the monster. It's whole body caught fire. It yelped again and ran off.
I went to the girl who was still lying on the ground. I held out my hand.
"Are you okay?"
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.
Caiden stood up, "yes thanks...Holy Crap Colt!" She took off running towards the back window and dived through. She picked up one of the knives she'd left negegantly in the kitchen sink and started running towards the front.
"Caiden get back!" Colt screamed. IT was only then that she realized that the Wizard and his companion had followed her.
"I brought help," She said.
"Just enough to get us out," Colt replied. "Got your car keys?"
CAiden nodded, and turned to the two behind her, "when I shout go run and get in the back of my car okay?"
I nodded hesitantly, not really liking the idea of getting into the backseat of some strangers car. But i got the feeling that neither of them meant us any harm.
"Alright," I agreed finally.
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.
Colt jumped away from the werewolf as it jumped at him it's teeth bared. Another leaped on his back and he flew forward grunting in pain. The wizard cast a spell on the beast and it flew back. He jumped up and rammed his fist into the other's head. It crumpled on the ground, dead.
Bella inhaled, and cringed. The smell of dog was utterly disgusting, and it was strong here.
"Go!" the girl shouted. James grabbed my arm, dragging me out to the car, which had just unlocked. The other two didn't follow immediatly.
"Are you all right?" he asked, examining me. I was shaking violently, and my breathing was uneven. I shook my head 'no'.
"What's wrong?" he asked, moving closer to me. I scooted away.
"Thirsty..." I breathed, resisting the sudden urge to practically attack him. He was concerned, and his heartbeat had sped up, making it harder to resist the urge. "Don't!" I exclaimed as he pulled a knife from his pocket.
"You won't kill me," he said assuredly.
"Yes...I will. I'm too thirsty...and you have no idea...how you smell..." I took the dagger from him, holding it to my wrist.
"What good will that do?" he asked worriedly as I slit my own wrist.
"I'm only half...my blood will suffice...until I find something better," I explained, putting my wrist to my mouth.
Caiden watched as Colt jammed himself into the front seat of the car and went to follow him.
A hand clampped down on her neck and she screamed. She was spun around to face a werewolf only half transformed. "Why were you helping him?" He demanded.
"I-I like him," she studdered. She had no clue what was going on around them. She couldn't look away from the vicious yellow eyes.
"For helping him, you will die."
She screamed and kicked him. As he cried out and released her she fell backwards down the stairs. He grabbed at her and only managed to grip her shirt tearing it from her. Clad in just her bra she ran to the car and slammed the door shut. Then with tires screaching and rubber burning she backed out of the driveway and just kept going.
From my place in the backseat i had watched the two of the people, one of which was a vampire. My body was tense and ready for action at the first sign of a threat.
The car pulled over and stopped, the two people in the front switching places. I watched warily.
Once they were situated again, the male, the vampire, turned back to us.
"Now that we're stopped, who are you?"
My eyes narrowed automatically. "I'm James. Who are you?"
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.
"I'm Caiden," She said quickly trying to keep the air calm.
"Excuse me," the girl vampire said, "but they're catching up."
Caiden turned around as Colt did and started driving. Not bothering with her seat belt. She leaned against the window and started slipping in and out of conciousness. Fighting for it with all her might. Finally it won and she was asleep.
When she woke they were stopped, and she was spread out in the back seat a blanket pulled over her shoulders, and she was alone in the car. She sat up and looked out the window to see Colt, James, and the girl vampire yelling at each other.
