"We have a place," Bill answered, obviosly unwilling to go into greater detail. Kathy grabbed Jordan by one arm and Marlene by the other, and dragged them upstairs so they could change.

'Hmmm'thought Slade,'well this is interesting, what to do, should i get out while i can, this way they wont know who i really am, or do i take the safe road?'

Slade thought and thought and came to a conclusion.'Since when have i ever taken the safe road? Time to bail.' but to his dislike, right then Marlene and Jordan came rushing furiously down the stairs.

"THERE IN THE HOUSE!!" they screamed at the top of there lungs.

'Then again, this could be the fun road, and when have i ever not taken that?' And at that he ran up the stairs with his Uzi in hand.

"TIME TO HAVE SOME FUN!" :smt068

Kathy and Bill pulled out their automatics and shot, doing their best to stay out of Slade's line of fire. He was shooting like a maniac!

"Slade!" Kathy shouted, "Aim!"

"I am!"

"Aim better!"

Marlene smiled, pulling out her gun and shooting one of the zombies in the leg. Looking back at the others, she ran to the downstairs bathroom for shelter. She watched the action and aimed her gun at the zombies that were sneaking up behind the others.

Kathy jumpped when she heard the shots behind her and turned to see three zombies fall down dead, again. She nodded in thanks to Marlene and turned back to the boys.

"Okay we're getting out of here now! Bill! Where are the keys?"

"In the key dish!"

"Everybody get in the car!"
I just lost the game.

Marlene scooted in between Jordan and Slade in the backseat as Kathy reved up the car and Bill sat in passenger.

"Everyone good to go?" Kathy asked.

They all nodded, and she pressed down on the gas, the car speeding off into the darkness. Marlene gripped onto her seatbelt for dear life.

Jordan put his arm around Marlene, trying to comfort her. She leaned into him, obviously tired.

"Are you ok?" he asked quietly. He saw Slade glare at him.

"Yeah, I'm pretty tired though."

"It's been a long day," Jordan agreed. "Where are we going?" he asked to no one in particular.

"Up your butt and around the corner," Slade snapped.

"Well, thanks for that visual Slade," Kathy commented dryly. "Where are we goign Bill?"

Bill didn't get a chance to answer, he slammed on the breaks, launching all of them foward. "Everybody get your guns and point them out the window," he mumbled.

"Why?" Kathy asked, "I can't see anything."

"I can't either, but they're there. You should be able to tell without seeing them. I think you're losing your touch honey."

Kathy glared at him but did what he said anyways.

Everything happened at once...

All of a sudden they were surrounded, even on the bridge, there were zombies all around them. They started firing. Bill opened the moon roof and pushed Kathy up through, she sat on the top and kept shooting, pulling everyone else who came up out of the car.

"Bill what are we doing?" Kathy shouted.

"How far can you jump?" he asked Marlene.

"As far as i need to."

"Everybody jump for the water!"

They all did, and almost all of them made it. In a last second realization he saw that Kathy wasn't going to make it, he pushed her foward, leaving him to fall behind.

"BILL!" she screached when she hit the water, she could see the zombies tearing him apart, and she couldn't do anything to fix it.
I just lost the game.

Jordan noticed that Marlene was struggling, and grabbed her, helping her to shore. He saw Slade go back to help Kathy, who was quite devistated, and seemed to be unwilling to make it to shore.

"Come on Kathy," Slade said doing his best to pull her along. She wasn't helping him. It wasn't until he managed to get her to shore that she snapped out of her trance, blind rage willed her now.

She grabbed her gun and she ran up the bank, intent on saving Bill.

"Kathy!" Slade shouted and grabbed her by the waist, pulling her back under the bridge, where they were out of sight. "Kathy he's gone, you can't help him anymore."

"I have to!! He's still up there!"

Well...less blind rage, more denial.

Marlene shivered, and Jordan hugged her. It was pointless, they couldn't warm each other if they were both freezing. "K-k-kathy," he stuttered, followed her and Slade under the bridge. "W--where are w-we going now?"

Kathy wanted to answer "back to get Bill!" but somewhere, deep down, she knew he was dead. She sat down against the pole and hugged herself, trying to hold the shattered pieces of her being together. She had always been over-drematic, but Bill had always been there for her, a friend for life. Before became more than a friend.

She didn't answer Marlene, because really... she didn't know what to say.

Marlene pulled away from Jordan and wrapped her arms around Kathy. "I know we don't really know each other and everything, but I'm really sorry."

Kathy looked like she was about to cry.

"Come on, it's going to be okay. I feel bad for doing this, but we'll have to talk about this later. We need to find shelter first," Marlene said. "And some warm clothes."

"Yeah, we gotta' work fast too," Slade agreed.
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." ^_^

"There's a motel a few miles up the road," Jordan said quietly.

"How do you know that?" Slade questioned.

"I...um..." he struggled to find an adequite lie. "No reason, I just travel a lot."

"What about money?" Marlene asked.

"I'll take care of it," Kathy said simply. "We best get a move on."

**Hey, im back!! and not to ruin everything, but wouldnt the zombies be able to get into the motel room?**

Slade still had this undying need inside of him to just run and not look back. When was he going to actually listen to his senses?? As the sprited up the street, they could see the zombies coming from the direction of the bridge.
