"Uh... trust me, this dude's not alive." She grabbed Marlana and dragged her back. "It sounds out there, but I'm right."

She grabbed her gun from inside her jacket and shot him in the arm. He didn't falter, it didn't even seem like he knew he had been shot.

"Okay I don't care how drunk you are, you're feeling a bullet in your arm."

"Crap, run!"

"Or maybe we should do like what they do in shawn of the dead, and hit him in the head with something?"he said humor in his voice

"Not helping."Kathleen said, looking annoyed.

"Hey, its not my fault teachers planted a false truth in my brain that no comment is stupid, BLAME THE TEACHERS!!!"he yelled.
As he finished this sentance, he chucked a fairly large rock at the mans head. He just slumped into a ball and moved no more.

"What did i tell you??? And look, it works like a charm!"

"You should."

"So this guy's a zombie? Like a real zombie?" Her question was answered when the zombie finally stood, holding a hand to his head.

Marlene wanted to laugh, but she was too shocked. She swallowed, her throat suddenly becoming dry.

Taking the other guy's lead, she picked up a rock and threw it at the zombie's head. He stopped for a moment, groaned, and continued coming toward them.

"Someone shoot him or something!"

Marlene felt frantic now. She threw another rock at his head. It didn't affect him.

"Where the heck are the cops?" She added as an after thought.

"It sure looks bad....um. So what are we supposed to do now? I mean, the most effective weapon against this guy so far is big rocks, but all it does is slow them down."Slade new they were in trouble, it was just hard for him to believe that a man could be a zombie.

"Well."Marlene said, still looking shocked, probly not as shocked as me though."i guess what we have to do is run, huh?"

"Just great.... and to think i was going to be able to go to sleep in a few."she said, and kicked the guy/zombie below the belt. Apperantly, the male zombies still felt that cause he doubled over, and was groaning more than before.

"Well that was effective, but dont do it to me, ok?"said Slade, backing away.

"Don't worry, ive been ready to go since this guy ran into me." and just like that they all broke into a sprint, none willing to look back to see if the zombie was back up right again or not.

"We need a safe place to stay. Anyone have any ideas?" Said Slade, finally having the information of the past few minutes comprehend in his brain.

"Follow me," Kathleen said, jumpping down a small shallow opening in the side of the street. She waited until the others had jumpped down as well. "Through here, it'll take us to just outside the police station."

Marlene jumped down the opening with a small yelp, and landed on the ground. Brushing the dirt off her bathrobe, she stood up, her cheeks flushed.

"Are you sure you know where you're going?" Marlene asked Kathleen.

"Yes I know where I'm going, I've been using these whatever they are since I was four."

She went in with Slade at her heels.

"Keep your eyes on the ground, or you'll trip," she teased.

"Okay," Marlene said, nodding her head. "And what do you suppose we'll do when we get there? Just tell the cops what's going on?"

Marlene stopped, frozen in her place as a shuffling of boots was heard up ahead. She couldn't tell, however, how far away the noise had come from. She pulled out her knife again and clutched onto Kathleen's arm.

"You know," said Slade,"Considering the fact that the cops probly wont believe the whole zombie theory, you could be convicted of murder if you cut him up." Slowly she put the knife away.

"Me on the other hand, well i dont really care if im convicted of murder at the moment, all things considered." they all looked at him. 'stupid, stupid, stupid, that was a bad thing to say, especially in front of a bounty hunter!'

Even though his stupidity had leaked, they didnt think about it, considering there was an evil zombie coming after them. Slade slowly slid out his gun.

"Hey, remember, we could be convicted of murder!"

"Like i said, at the moment i could care less." and he pointed his gun at the aread from where the noise was coming.

"I wonder where those kids went." said an unknown voice from around the corner.

"Oh no, cops, i better put this away before they get here!" and he slid the gun in his jacket.

Kathleen strained her ears to hear the voice, "Bill?"

"Who's Bill?"

"It is Bill!" she brushed passed everyone and ran out the other side of the tunnel, "Bill!" she shouted when she came out.

"Kathy?" he asked bewildered and helpped her out of the hole. "Kathy what the bloody hell are you doing here?"

"Long story," she wrapped her arms around him, "Bill my skip was a zombie, you know what that means right?"

"Yeah," he bent down and helpped everyone else out, "it means we gotta get out of here."

"Ok, but where are we going to go?" Jordan asked, getting out of the hole by himself. The others seemed to have forgotten that he was there.

"I have a place we can go for now."

"Oh god...don't tell me," Slade began. "We have to stop the zombies, don't we?"

"Yeah, pretty much," Bill replied.

"This sounds like a movie."

"Maybe it is," Jordan replied, looking around for cameras.

"If it were a movie you'd know," Bill said sternly. "Come on," he ran off again, faster than Kathy had before, he didn't seem interested in making sure they kept up, just that Kathy did.

"Bill slow down they're falling behind," she said. He stopped and waited for them to catch up. "Remember they aren't as fast as we are."

Kathy didn't look before she started across the street, Bill grabbed her around the middle and pulled her back. Just where she had been standing a bus went flying through.

"thanks babe," she said.

"No problem hon, just watch where you're going okay?"

"Alright."
