Kathy tried to shove him off, she didn't think it would be as hard as it was, concidering how light he felt. But he wouldn't budge.

"Okay, I'll get up! But I'm charging you with finding me coffee, or Coke," she said as she wriggled out from under him.

He sat up and grinned at her, "I don't know where it is."

"In the kitchen, duh," she replied mocking his tone.

Marlene walked into Jordan's room, planting herself in the center of the bed. "Are you ready to go?"

He checked through one of the doors, which was empty. "I think so."

"Do you think our families are okay?"

He looked at her then. "Yeah, they are," he said, trying to be comforting.

She nodded her head and got off the bed, heading toward the door. She stopped, and put a hand on his arm, smiling. "Thanks."

'Well, getting coffee might sound easy enough, but where is the kitchen?' thought Slade. Just then he saw a vending machine with some coke.

"Ahh, that should do." He said, and got some change from his pocket.

As Slade walked back into Kathy's room, she was sound asleep yet again.
'Hehe' said Slade with an evil idea. Slowly, Slade proped her up, trying not to wake her. Just when she was high enough, he took the freezing cold Coke, and put it down her shirt.

"AHH!" yelled Kathy terrified of this new found cold on her back.

"Maybe we should stay awake now, hm?" said Slade trying not to laugh.

Kathy pulled the Coke out from behind her and took a swig. "I am not a morning person."

Slade laughed this time, "ovbiously, but its after noon."

"My matabolism still thinks its morning."

Slade laughed and pulled her to her feet, despite her protests. "Marlene and Jordan are probably waiting for us."

When she was on her feet she staggered a little bit, Slade had to wrap an arm around her to hole her up. "I guess you aren't a morning person."

She shook her head sleepily, "told you."

They finally caught up with Marlene and Jordan."What took you so long?"

"Lets just say that Kathy isnt a morning persone." I replied, smiling as Kathy did her laugh, covering her mouth in embarresment.

"So, where are we going to go?"said Jordan,"I mean, like whos house first?"

"Well,"i said,"none of my family even live in this state, so im good."

"Well, i need to check my family."said Jordan.

We nodded, and started to follow Jordan to his house.

Kathy couldn't stop thinking that this couldn't be a good idea, she was short on bullets and they were way too open for her liking. "I don't like this," she said, "we're way too out in the open." Nervousness edged her tone.

*I can't think of anything else sorry.*

Kathy's feeling of uneasiness didn't subside even as they checked everybody's families houses which were, empty. They were walking back towards the bridge with Kathy's abnondoned SUV on it when she was sure something was wrong.

"Guys, we really need to go." She said urgently.

Slade turned and looked at her, "whats wrong?"

"I'm not sure...LOOK OUT!" She threw herself at Slade knocking him out of the way. Surprised he hit the ground with a low thud and a zombie "walked" right into the spot where he had been. Kathy-who was still standing- was now its target.

What happened within the next few minutes she wasn't sure, but all she remembered was teeth biting into her arm and Slade drawing a gun before everything went black.

*Now the zombifing process is slow so now what we have to do is to find a cure ^.^ am i good or what?*
I just lost the game.

"Oh shit...oh shit, oh shit, oh shit..." Jordan was pacing the bridge, trying to htink of something to do, while Slade held Kathy in his arms, cursing anything and everything he could see or think of.

"Damn zombie...damn bridge...damn tree....damn SUV..."

"That's not going to do any good," Marlene commented from where she was sitting, at the very edge of the bridge. "We need a plan."

"There's gotta be a cure," Jordan pointed out from where he stood, stationary for only a moment. "And we need a vehicle. Or a mode of transportation...we need to think like Kathy."

"Well, we're going to have to walk for now," Marlene said. "Does anyone know where the closest gas station is?"

Slade held Kathy against his arms, inspecting her wound, which was bleeding profusely from her arm.

"I need something to wrap her arm in. Now!"

Marlene quickly pulled off one of the overshirts that Kathy had given her back at the house, and handed it to Slade. He wrapped it tightly over the wound as Kathy cringed.

"It should only be a few miles up the road. We can jack a car, if there's any, okay?" Kathy said weakly.

"If you make it that long," Jordan mumbled.

Marlene smacked him against the arm.

"The process can take awhile, maybe even weeks," Kathy said, frowning.

"Don't worry, Kathy. We're going to find a cure. Right boys?"

They both nodded, though somewhat reluctantly. Slade then picked Kathy up from the ground, holding her in his arms.

"Let's go," he finally said.

What is a poet? An unhappy person who hides deep anguish in his heart, but whose lips are so formed that when the sigh and cry pass through them, it sounds like lovely music.
