Marlene stopped, panting heavily. These people moved fast- way faster than her atleast. She blamed her bathrobe. It was rather long, and she tended to trip on it at times (or atleast that's what she'd like to believe).

Still trying to catch her breath, she continued running after the rest of the group.

"Guys, slow down," she said loudly, trying to get their attention. "You people are on steriods or something!"

"Babe? Hun? are you two married or something? Or just really close friends?"They both looked back laughing.

"Whats so funny."said Slade looking a bit insulted.

"It's and inside joke, don't worry about it."

Slade didn't like this one bit. He hated it when people laughed at him, and it just made it worse that it was a cop. Slade tried to slip away from the group and turn a corner, but Kathy surprisingly was right there to grab his arm and turn him back on course.

"Where do you think that your going? Were going this way, and when i say we're, i mean you too."

Out of frustration of being caught, Slade sped up so he was neck and neck with the police officer. He always loved competition, and it would be even better considering it was with a cop.

"Wow, your pretty quick on your feet, now aren't you?" commented the cop.

"Thats what happens after being a varsity football wide receiver." Slade said, and poured on the speed, from behind however, he could here the moans of Marlene.

"We better slow down, or else we'll lose Marlene." Said Slade, and ran back for Marlene.

"You need some help?"

"I'll. huh, huh, be, huh, huh, ok." Slade could tell she was dying, so without hesitation, he picked her up, and twisted her onto his back.

"Do you like piggyback rides?"He called back to her, and she laughed with what breath she had."Tell me when you want to get down ok, and don't say it sooner than needed, cause, in case you didn't notice, YOUR light as a FEATHER!"

Slade hurried and caught up to the group.

"Were here." said the cop or as kathy says it,babe, but i like just 'the cop' better

When they got into the small house Bill and Kathy latched the door shut. They went around doing the same to all the windows and the back door.

Everyone else had settled themselves on the couch and chairs, Kathy and Bill went back into the kitchen for a moment.

"Why did we bring them again?" Bill asked.

"Because that zombie is out there! And you know theres more than one."

"So? I don't like the way that one," he glaced at Slade, "looked at you."

"Bill, just..."

He kissed her.

"Babe, I-" Bill began but started when he saw Kathy giggle, "whats so funny?"

"You're jelous."

"Am not."

She put her arm on his shoulder and played with his hair, "you are, and I think its sweet."

Marlene jumped off Slade's back as they entered the house. "Thanks!"

"No problem," he said, grinning.

Marlene looked at Kathy and Bill. "So, what's the plan?"

"Um..." Bill said.

"We don't really have one, either than stay inside, stay quiet and hope they don't find us."

"We may be bounty hunters but we're not heros."

"So to say."

"But we've got to do something!"

"Thats a sure fire way to get yourself killed," Bill said to Slade. "I'm not a cop but I've got handcuffs in the bedroom."

"Bill!"

"Right, sorry."
I just lost the game.

"How do you know if there's more than one zombie? There might not be many at all!"

Marlene smiled then.

"I say we overpower them and take them down! Who's in?"

Nobody spoke. Marlene coughed, and ran a hand through her hair nervously as she sat back down on the couch.

"Right, sorry. Anyway, I say we take a peek atleast, just to see what's going on out there."

"I don't know, I'm pretty dang tired. I vote we rest up, and keep an eye on the news." Jordan suggested, sprawling out on a couch.

"They won't show Zombies on the news!" Slade commetned rudely.

"No, but they'll show harrassing, murder, and other crimes taht could be caused by "drunks." When I say drunks I mean Zombies."

"So, that's it? That's all we're going to do?" Marlene asked, sighing. She wanted to do something now, not sit around waiting for it to happen.

"There isn't much we can do," Bill said.

"We can find out whats going on tomorrow, but for tonight, we've got an extra matress, and the couch." Kathleen walked into the kitchen, "are you guys hungry? We've got-" she screamed and scrambled away from the window.
I just lost the game.

"Zombies," Bill said, and together, they all raced into the kitchen. Marlene pulled at Bill's arm, making him stop in his place.

"Bill," Marlene said, a determined look on her face. "We're going to need some weapons."

"Not now."

Marlene nodded. Kathy was standing behind the kitchen table, a buther's knife in her hand. Slade came up beside her.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

Before she could respond, something banged up against the window, cracking the glass. Marlene wasn't sure what was outside, but it was definently strong.

"I think we're going to need those weapons now."

Kathy and Bill went to the closet in their room. In a box under the floorboards were weapons. Three guns, extra clips, and a bunch of daggers.

"Reguardless of the weapons, we're still not leaving tonight."

"What about the window?"

"We'll lock up the kitchen door, or board up the window, bottom line, theres no where else to go is there?"
I just lost the game.

Marlene turned to Slade as another attack came against the window. "Okay, we need something to put in front of the window. Any ideas?"

They both looked around the kitchen.

"What about the table?"

"Isn't that rather large?" Marlene asked. "How are we going to slide it over here?"

Slade got behind one side of the table. "You pull, and I'll push, alright?"

Marlene nodded, and together, they slid the table in front of the window. She wiped a hand against her forehead and leaned against the table so she could catch her breath.

"Do you think that'll keep the zombie out?"

Slade shook his head. "Probably not for long."

They both turned as Bill and Kathy entered the room.

Kathy handed a gun to Marleen and Jordan, "I think you already have one," she said to Slade. When she looked at the table she said, "I think we should go somewhere else."

"Where?"

"Out of town, possibly out of the state."

"I like that idea," Bill said.
I just lost the game.
