Jordan watched the cars pass, all of them driven by families or old folks. He wanted to find a car driven by a single person, preferably a teenager. Marlene was walking along the side of the road, when suddenly a teenage boy pulled over to the side in his Porsche 911 **don't ask**.
"Hey, what's a pretty thing like you doing out here all by yourself?" the boy asked, nodding to Marlene. Jordan was by her side in a heart beat, not wanting anything to happen.
"she's not alone," he said pointedly. "However, one of our friends is hurt, and we could use a ride to the nearest gas station. Could you give us a ride?"
"Um...sure. Can she sit next to me?" Jordan looked at Marlene hesitantly. She smiled a brave smile and he nodded.
"Don't worry, i won't let him so much as look at you funny," he promised.
