Kathy groaned and rolled onto her side away from the doors and windows. She tried to go back to sleep but found herself unable to. Grudgingly she sat up and smiled when she saw Slade watching her from the doorway.
"How long have you been standing there?" she asked.
He shrugged, "only five minutes, I was sitting over there," he pointed to a chair not to far from her cot.
She shook her head and sighed, "aren't you hungry?"
*Ill follow one, but not all the way. Just half way.*
After going to get the breakfast, Slade headed back to Kathy's room. Just as he got right outside the door however, he could here Kathy's voice coming from it.
"Stop it you pervert! Get out of here!" she yelled trying to slap the docter. He was obviously drunk, i mean, it was only the day after new years eve!(I think)
As Slade saw this, he walked up behing the man, and grabbed the back of his neck. Squezing it as hard as he could, the docter let out a shrill scream and dropped to the ground, unconcious.
Marlene turned the corner, her cheeks flushed and eyes wide. She nearly screamed when someone almost collided into her. The guy grabbed at her arms, holding her steady.
"Oh, there you are," she said, stepping away from Jordan and clearning her throat. "I've been looking for you guys everywhere. Where's Kathy and Slade?"
Jordan shrugged, tucking his hands into his pockets. "Not sure."
"Well, it doesn't matter right now," Marlene looked around to see if anyone was in the hallway, which was surprisingly empty. "Come on, there's something I want to show you."
Marlene grabbed at his arm and practically drug him into a small room. She closed the door behind her and motioned for him to come to the couch.
"So, I've been watching the news channel, right?" she said while messing with the remote. "Turns out this whole virus thing's spreading fast. Canada's got their entire army at the border now, trying to keep it out, but I have a feeling that's not working out too well."
Jordan looked down for a moment, his forehead creased in thought. "So, what are we going to do?"
"I think we should find Kathy and Slade and get out of here. This place is great and everything, but...."
"I know what you mean," Jordan said. "Let's go."
OOC: Sorry it took so long to reply guys. Though your arguing really made me laugh. Hope this is okay? I'm trying to move the plot along and bring the zombies back. 'Gotta love those zombies.
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." ^_^
*TIME LAPSE!! i couldnt think of anything. Okay, so Kathy is pretty much all better, and were getting our stuff together to get going, and away from the zombies.*
"Okay, are we pretty much ready to go?" asked Slade, getting impetiant and twitchy. He does that when he gets nervous.
"Yeah, lets get to the car!"yelled Kathy, obviously enjoying Slades discomfort, thinking it was funny. She smiled at him and giggled.
"What?"said Slade, raising his eyebrow.
"Oh nothing, i just think you look cute when your nervous." she said, fiddling with her sweater.
They all got out to the car, Jordan and Marlene up front, Kathy and Slade in back. Slade laid back in the seat, and Kathy leaned up against him.
"Hmm...your warm." she said, cuddling closer to him.
Slade wrapped his arms around her, it was so cozy. Strangely for someone who's intire midsection was made of metal. But she didn't care, she loved it. She froze, she had never used the word love before, not even with Bill. She loved him.
Marlene's head bobbed as the car sped forward. She tried hard to keep her eyes open, but she didn't know how much longer she could fight sleep. It was almost dark outside anyway...
The car stopped all of a sudden, and she looked outside the window. Jordan rolled down the window as a man in a guard's uniform came toward them.
"Yes, sir?" Jordan asked.
"We've closed off the roads," the man said. "You're going to have to go around."
"What's going on?" Slade asked from the backseat.
"I don't know if I should say this, but there's been an outbreak up ahead. The town's pretty small though, so it shouldn't be a problem or anything. The cops are already there.," he told them.
Marlene frowned. "I thought the outbreak hadn't reached Canada yet?"
The man shrugged, before pointing at another road. "If you go around this way, you'll pass the town fine," he said, and then nodded his head, walking away.
Jordan rolled up the window and turned to look at Kathy and Slade. "There's no way they're going to be able to contain it."
Kathy nodded. "That's why we need to work fast."
OOC: foreshadowing, anyone?
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." ^_^
"Atta girl!" Kathy said, "and she didn't almost become one!"
"Kathy," slade said warningly, he turned her chin to face him, "no, we're not going to rush head first into a town full of zombies and try to kill them all!"
Kathy leaned up and kissed him, "not what i had in mind. More of an assassination style attack."
"A what?" Jordon asked.
"We get on top of a building with lots of long range guns, aim and shoot, whle staying hidden."
