Adam listened to his bubbling potion, soon it would be ready. Soon he would have his revenge. Though after the nights events, his wants were unimportant.

Soon....soon....The words echoed in Adam's brain. The words that taught him the Imperious curse.

He continued down the passage, ready for sleep.

Lindsay gasped slightly as the cool jewel rested on her chest. "Where did you get..."

Sedry winked. "That is my own little secret."

The broom slowly drifted down to the ground. Sedry gentely lifted Lindsay off, pulling her into a tight hug.

"You stay happy," Sedry whispered. "If your not happy, I can't be."

She giggled. "I can try."

With one last final kiss, Sedry took off on his broom, leaving Lindsay in a wonderous state.

Nobody saw the hex hit Sedry off his broom, sending him headfirst into the forest.

Calder wandered aimlessy to the dormatory, and sat looking out the window. He notice Lindsay and Sedry flying together, a beautiful gem in Lidsays hands.'Aha' he thought,'he just told her he loved her, now didnt he.' Calder snickered to himself gently, but slowly noticed another figure on the grounds, not on broom stick, but with his wand in the air.

"Oh no!" said Calder allowed,"Thats Garret!!!" Calder new it was coming even as the curse came from his wand, but still didnt expect him to have such expert aim. It hit Sedry square in the chest.

Calder grabbed his broom and jumped out the window. He swooped as fast as he could, racing Sedry to the ground, noting that he was probly going faster.

Just as Sedry was 10 yards from hitting the nearest tree, Calder scooped him up, forgetting his weight, and descending untill hitting a tree himself.
They both fell to the forest floor with an,"Umph," and lay there, noticing the black coming over his eyes.

"Well, that would have been worthy of a seeker." said Sedry, trying to chuckle, but hurting himself. Calder grinned."Except for the hitting the tree part." he noted."Ugh." he groaned,"this is the most unbearable feeling on earth!" yelled Calder."Wanting to move, but knowing full well if you do, that you'll regret it the moment you do."

I walked back towards the Castle, feeling like I was on air. I heard a crash, but figured it was nothing, I really couldn't concentrate anyways. I felt a cold hand on my neck and I jumped.

"Garret?!" He smiled at me.

"Hey Babe." I took a few steps back and looked at him.

"What?" I asked coldly.

"I saw you out here with that one guy, what do you think you were doing?"

"None of your buisness." I snapped at him.

"'Cause you're my girl, and I don't like what I saw." He looked pretty mad.

"Your girl? Bull! I'm with Sedry." I said, touching the necklace and smiling. Garret was turning red with anger. He grabbed my arm and pulled me to him.

"You're mine." He growled. "And Sedry won't be able to come to you anyways." A horrible thought came to mind.

"Where is he?" I asked, with a shaky voice.

"I don't know, and I don't care."

"Tell me! Where is he!?" I was screaming now.

"Stop worrying. Just stay with me." He leaned towards me. I kneed him and he let go, to bend over. I pulled out my wand and put it at his neck.

"Where is he?" I growled, pressing my wand harder.

"He's somewhere in the forest!" He wheezed. I pushed Garret over and ran towards to forest as fast as I could.

Kate

I took a shallow breath and then followed Adam deeper and deeper into the heart of the castle. The passageway turned a corner and as he turned, I caught sight of a potion in his hand. A potion? What's a second year doing creating potions?

It wasn't long before we reached a dead end. Adam stepped towards the wall and ran a hand across the smooth stones. He paused and tilted his head to the right, as if listening to something, but then he pulled out his wand. Adam tapped the stone three times and murmured two words. I wasn't close enough to catch them but the wall swung open and he crept out. Scared that it would not remain open, I hurried after him.

"that was one hell of a hex though." Sedry commented. "Never seen it-."

He suddenly stopped. He tried to take in a breath of air, but he couldn't. "It stopped my lungs. I can't breathe..." he managed to whisper. His face was changing colors.

Calder panicked. "Anapneo!" he yelled, hoping the spell would have some affect.

Sedry writhed on the ground, still unable to take in air. He was dying.

I ran into the forest, ignoring the branches hitting me and scratching. Please be ok Sedry. Please don't be hurt I repeated that in my head. Over and over.

I heard, or thought I heard, Calder shouting. I passed a tree and saw him, looking around franticaly and shaking Sedry.

"Clader? What's wrong?" I couldn't see what was going on, it was really dark. He turned around.

"Linds! Come here!" He sounded really freaked out. I walked over and saw Sedry's face through the light of Calder's wand.

"Oh My Gosh! What happened?!" I screamed.

"Garret." Calder hissed, still trying spells on Sedry, trying to help him. I realized what was happening and I wanted to cry, but I knew I had to try and be strong.

"Calder, can't you do anything?" My voice was shaking.

"That's what I'm trying to do!"

"Well, try harder!" I turned to look at Sedry, he looked horrible. "Don't die on me Sedry. Please. Stay with me." I grabbed his hand, it was as cold as ice.

"Come on, Calder, I know you can save him!" I said. I felt horrible though that I couldn't do anything for him.

Twilight, the most beautiful time of day, yet Alice was bored. Her hand itched for her wand, but she knew better than to take it out in the common room. She had to go to the forbidden forest. She glided along being as quiet as she could, it was almost after hours and she didn't feel like getting caught today.

She was walking passed one of the fountians when she heard a low moan of pain. Startled, she turned and followed it. Only to find Garret lying there. Even though he was holding his lower end curled up into a tiny ball he managed to laugh at her.

"Come to ask for the countercurse have you?"

"What counter curse?"

"For the lung crushing hex I put on Garret for kissing my girl."

Alice didn't understand, but she knew that it was bad, that was enough for her. "Well then what is it?"

"I'm not going to tell you."

Alice held out her wand, pointing it at his face, "you know, when dealing with you I'm not afraid to use the cruciatious curse."

"You don't have it in you, you're too kind."

"cruccio"

Garret withered in pain crying out. With a wave of her wand he stopped. "Care to renew that statement? Or would you rather tell me the counter curse."

"Go to hell."

"cruccio"

Again he withered and cried out in pain.

"Where are they? And what's the counter curse?"

He told her, and she ereased his memory of the last five minutes before turning and running to the woods.

I was still holding Sedry's hand and watched him go still.

"No...Sedry? Come on, stay with me!" I looked at Calder and he shook his head. I stood up, letting Sedry's hand fall limp on the ground. I turned away and started to walk when Alice came running in talking about some counter curse. She pointed her wand at Sedry, but I didn't stay to see what happened, I knew Clader had tried everything, so I was sure it wouldn't work. I didn't want to see her, or anyone, I kept on walking, deeper into the woods. It was too dark to see and I kept tripping, but I didn't want to use my wand. I tripped again and fell onto the ground, hitting something sharp in my leg. It felt warm, but I just moved myself against a tree and held onto the heart hanging around my neck. I couldn't find any tears to cry, and I just fell asleep.

Sara was a true slytherin at heart.

That was the only way she could've known what was happening in the Forbidden Forest. SHe had been using her charmed mirror to spy on them, and had seen everything. In seconds, she was flying towards the trees as quickly as her legs could manage.

"Sara!" Calder exclaimed when she bent at Sedry's side. ALice was there too, and Lindsay.

"Have you tried to fix it?"

"I've tried everything I could think of. THe lung crushing curse is too advanced for anything I know," Calder answered.

"Garret told me the supposed counter curse, but it was a lie. I don't know what to do!" Alice added, tears in her eyes. Sedry was gasping, hardly even concious anymore. Sara closed her eyes and thought back, hoping her photographic memory wouldn't screw everything up (it had that downfall sometimes). Suddenly her eyes shot open.

"What?" Calder exclaimed, noticing the htoughful look in Sara's eyes.

"I remember it," she explained, pulling her wand out of her pocket and muttering the counter curse. Sedry gasped, taking a full breath of air this time.

Slowly Sedry regained conciousness, Alice expected Lindsay to embrace him but she was no where to be found. Quietly she stood up, grabbed Calders hand and led him around the trees.

"Where are you going?" Calder asked.

"Lindsay's around here somewhere. lumos."

Tears began to pour from Sedry's eyes as a sharp pain took into his chest. He did the only thing his body would allow; leaning over to the side, he let out everything he had eaten that day. Calder caught him as he almost collapsed again.

"careful. Almost lost you back there. I am surpised you can still move."

Sedry opened his mouth to speak, but all that came out was a dry crackle.

"Don't speak." Sara said. "You were in that for a long time. You are lucky tha you are alive."

Sedry shook his head. "Where's Lindsay?" he managed in a throaty gargle.

Calder shrugged. "Alice went looking for her. When she came here..."

Sedry, against the will of his body, forced himself to his feet. "I need to find her."

Calder gently pulled at his shoulder. "Don't worry. We will get her"

Sedry limply pushed his hand to the side. "I will find her."

Sara grabbed Sedry's arm, refusing to let go when he struggled.

"You're too weak right now," she argued. "Alice can find her, and bring her back. Speaking as the person who has some idea what just happened, I suggest you sit your butt back down. Your lungs are still crushed in a bit; you need to give them time to expand. You could collapse at any given time, and Linds wouldn't appreciate that at all." Sedry sighed and sat back down.

"How close was I?"

"To dying? Too close for comfort. On the upside, you're still very much alive."

"Something needs to be done about Garret."

"I'm going to take care of it," Sara promised, already formulating a new plan.

"Lindsay!" Alice shouted, "Lindsay where the bloody hell are you?"

She heard a low moan, similar to the one that she herself made when she was trying to wake up.

"Lindsay! Sedry's going to freak out if I don't come back with you!"

"You mean he's alright?!!!" Lindsay replied with more stamina than it looked like she had.

"He's fine Garret lied to me-which makes me extra glad I broke some rules on him-but Sara remembered the counter-curse from some strange place." Alice bent down and helpped lindsay stand, and noticed the gash on her leg. "Can you walk?"

"I think so." Lindsay stood and took a couple of shaky steps. Alice helpped her.

I winced from the pain the shot up my leg everytime I took a step, but I didn't let Alice see it. I was mad with myself for being a clutz earlier because now I just wanted to run back to be with Sedry.

"He's ok...He's alive...He's fine..." I kepy saying this and Alice just smiled at me while I said it. I felt like my legs were going to give out from under me, and I swear we had been walking for hours.

"Jeez! When are we gonna get there? I swear I didn't walk this far." I said.

"Oh stop your complaining." Alice laughed and I tried but I had nothing left it me. After a few minutes I could hear Calder talking and I told Alice I didn't need any more help. I just ran. It hurt like hell and I didn't know how I could do it, but I did. I saw Sedry leaning against a tree and I stopped. I just looked at him. I wanted to run and hug him, and never let go, but I couldn't move. I felt the pain in my leg and I let out a weak scream. Sarabella and Alice went to help me, but I waved a hand.

"I'm fine." I breathed and walked over towards Sedry. Sitting down next to him, I leaned my head on his shoulder, and tears fell down my face, since I couldn't hold them back. He put his arm around me.

"I thought...I thought you were...gone..." I said.
