I did intend to return to the the Slytherin common room but then I decided to practice a little more so I angled my broom towards the forest and landed near Hagrid's hut. Concentrating on my magic, I attempted to change and grinned as one of my hands grew furry and extended into claws.

'Orange. What animal is that?A cat? A tiger?' I spent a few minutes mentally listing all the possibilities and then tried it again and again and was satisfied when, a few hours later, I could turn both my legs and arms into furry limbs complete with sharp daggers.

"What do yeh think you're doing?" A loud voice demanded. I looked up to see Hagrid heading towards me with a lantern. "You shouldn't be trying that. Yer going t' get in trouble."

"Sorry," I mumbled, changing back.

"Do you know how dangerous that is? You could have been killed, Kate."

"Then can you help me?" I asked. "I want to master it by morning and you must have seen lots of people do t before. Can't you help me get it right?"

Jesse sat on the roof of his common room. He could hear some boys laughing and screaming as they crawled into bed. He sat looking at the stars. He was on the roof for a reason. The owl he had sent earlier was asking his cousin, Hayley, to come during the Christmas holiday. He hadn't received an answer as of yet. The shingles on the roof got colder and colder but the air was still very warm. Then the the cold subsided and was gone.
"That was strange," Jesse said aloud. He then saw a light bobbing up and down coming away from Hagrid's hut.

Adam stayed awake long after everyone went to bed, he was trying to deal with being betrayed by his friends.

At least you still have Alzz and the others. He crept quietly from his bed and gathered his transfiguration book, a quill, and parchment before going to the common room. Might as well be productive if I cant sleep

Alice didn't get an "i hate you" fron Sedry or not that night. So she tried to avoid starting a conversation with him. Her and Calder didn't speak much either, but it was a more comfortable silence, they just sat there she was playing with the buttons on his vest and him with her hair.

They both fell asleep on the couch.

When they woke up in the morning they were in almost the same position as when they fell asleep, only a little more uncomfortable.

Alice sat up and rubbed her neck, "that wasn't a good idea," she said.

"Well...this morning its not, last night it was better."

Alice laughed, "yeah it was. I can't believe Sedry left us here!"

"Um...he left himself here too," Calder pointed to Sedry sitting/sleeping in the same armchair as he had been sitting in the night before.

Alice laughed again, "well, he's forgiven now. But..." her mind once again drifted to the day before, "do you think he hates me? He didn't say anything yesturday."

"I don't think so, lets wake him up and go get breakfast." Calder gave her a michevious smile.

"What are you thinking?"

"SEDRY! THE COMMON ROOM'S ON FIRE!!!"

Sedry shot awake, nearly falling out of his chair. Calder and Alice burst out laughing while he woke up.

"You two are sadistic you know that?" he said before he started laughing as well.
I just lost the game.

"Fine but only so you don't hurt yer self," Hagrid agreed reluctantly but before we could begin, a voice called out into the dark.

"Hello?" Jesse asked. "Who's there?"

"Hi Jesse," I called back. "It's just me and Hagrid. Why aren't you in bed?"

"Waiting for an owl," He replied, stepping into view. "What are you upto?"

"Becoming an animagus," I answered.

"Shush. Keep yer voices down," Hagrid warned. "Don't let the other teachers hear you. Now show me how far you've got."

I woke up with a big headache. I crawled out of bed and got dressed. I walked down the stairs, rubbing my eyes.

"Hey Sam, is it time for breakfast yet?" I asked a slytherin, because I had forgotten to check.

"Yeah, just about. You and Garret huh? I knew you'd come to your senses."

"What the heck are you talking about?"

"Last night. With you and Garret? You don't remember?"

"I remember taking him back from hospital wing and going to bed."

"Well that's not what I remember."

"I don't care. Just leave me alone." I said, and walked out. I walked into the great hall and almost everyone was already there. My eyes caught Alice's and I felt like I was about to cry. I sat down at the slytherin table but they were at the gryfindor one. I felt really alone.

When Alice's eyes caught Lindsays she felt as much pain in hers as in her own.

"I'll be right back," she said as she removed her arm from Calder's and went over to Lindsay.

"Lindsay," she whispered sitting down, "do you hate me?"

Adam sat at the Hufflepuff table, at least three seats between him and any of the other Hufflepuffs.

Jerks....

He could see Alzz walking over to the Slytherin table. He wanted to go sit with someone, but everything seemed a bit bleak.

With a fleeting glance at breakfast, Adam left the Great Hall. It was Sunday, a perfect day to brew a potion...

I didn't know what to say. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. I hugged Alice.

"I could never hate you."
"Then what about last night? What was that about?"
"I-I-I don't know." I said quietly. I was really crying now and a lot of people were staring. "I just- I just felt bad for him I think."
"But he was trying to hurt me! I swear Linds!"
"I think...I think I kissed him..." I said so quietly no one but Alice could hear me.
"What?!" She shouted.
"I don't know. I just...did...I feel so bad." I looked over to see Sedry walking over and I got up and ran out of the place. I was crying and I could barely see. I ran down and empty corridor and colapsed to the floor.

It took a few more hours and of course Jesse insisted in being taught but by the time the sun was creeping across the horizon we could both turn into animals at will. I swished my striped tail and admired the sharp claws on my paws as I strutted back and forth. A tiger. How brilliant. Of course, Jesse was a little more awkward with his transforming but he seemed pleased.

"Well done you two. Now get to the great Hall before anyone realises you've not been to bed," Hagrid beamed at us and I felt suddenly guilty. Stepping forward, I became a human again and threw my arms around him.

"Thank you so much, Hagrid and I'm sorry I kept you awake." The half giant looked taken aback but then he beamed at me again.

"I think you're the first slytherin to ever hug me. And don't be going to the great hall like that Jesse." Jesse grinned sheepishly, if an animal can do that, and changed back to a human.

Calder walked up to Alice, who looked extreamily upset.

"Whats the matter?"

"I dont know anymore." she said, and turned to Calder. Then without warning, she began to sob into his shoulder. Calder cradled(?) her to her content. He wouldnt let go untill the end of the earth if Alice wanted. She looked up, half smiling, the tears glinting off of her face.

"Thank you."she said.

"For what?"

"For being here when i need you."

"No need to thank me for that, i dont mind in the slightest way. Now, maybe we should go see professor flitwick for weakening your spell?"

Alice laughed half heartedly.

"Maybe, but I wouldn't recommend you come with."

He raised an eyebrow, "why not?"

"Because we're going to be doing it in an enclosed space, I might either take your eye out or blow you up or something."

"That would be bad, but...I'll take my chances."

"Your fault if you get hurt, not mine."

Calder nodded, "noted."

They walked arm in arm towards professor flitwick's room. "What do you want for Christmas?" she asked.

I was weeping as much for him as her; we do sometimes pity creatures that have none of the feeling either for themselves or others.
