"That was very unfair of you Sedry!! I was here first, i think it would have been only fair if i had gotten to throw the first punch." They both smiled. Waiting tensly for the match was enough to make them explode with laughter. I mean, being able to hurt the boy that hexed Alice off of her broom would be one of the best fealings and experiences of his life!!

"I think its about time the match began! I'm getting annoyed just sitting here!"

"Believe me, you. You're not the only one!" Said Calder

Jesse took Alice to the hospital wing and called for Madam Pomfrey. The sound of his voice, so loud and shrill that it woke Alice up slightly.

"Jesse?" she mumbled, confused. "Wha-what happened? The last thing I remember is talking to Sedry and Calder in portrait hole and then-

Jesse perched himself on the side of the bed, "you fainted, I got half way here when Calder and Sedry left. I'm only assuming to find Garret."

"They're going to get themselves expelled!" she tried to get up but Jesse pushed her back down.

"My guess is Garret was in the great hall, theres a great number of prefects there they won't get in trouble."

"Jesse," she said, "why am I so cold?"

He cast a spell to dry her off, "better?"

She grabbed her arms and shook her head, "no."

As the match was finally about to begin, Sedry and Calder could overhear Garret mentioning Alice's name and them 'not being able to figure out the illness untill its too late'

"Hey Garret?"said Calder loudly."If it turns out that Alice is hurt badly, your going to have to leave this place you know? Not because you'll be expelled, but because more than 3/4ths the school will be willing to kill you withought a moments hesitation, so if i were you, i would come clean with whatever jynx or hex or curse you used on her now!"

"I guess i might be persuaded to tell you if you beat me in the dual, but remember i only said might, Calder."Said Garret smirking.

"Oh, dont worry, if its the match between us and Alice's health, then you had better run for cover, cause this match is going to be a living hell for you." said Sedry.

Now the anger from the two boys seemed to dawn on Garret, and he slowly seemed to look frightened.

"oh, not getting scared, are you Garret?" said Calder mockingly.

Xander shook his head in disbelief, you'd think after all that happened at this school rivalary would be the least of everyone problems. Once he considered it was safe he began to walk away.

He was a joker and it was a joke mostly about the duel. He hadn't been serious.

Everything that happened at this school, yet there was really nothing new.

He'd been bewildered about getting the badge. For ever since he'd come to the school he'd caused hell alot of chaos.

A crowd had gathered to watch the duel and now we were lined up, facing each other. On one side stood Sarabella, Garret and a Slytherin called Ryoshi. On the other were Calder and Sedry, side by side and me a little further away. Xander hadn't reappeared but then, I doubted that he'd been serious about the duel, so we decided to start without him.

"One..." The crowd called, "Two..." And with that, three spells were called out.

"Densaugeo!" Garret called, pointing his wand at Sedry who was able to duck the curse.

"Stupefy!" Ryoshi shouted, the beam of light hitting Calder who collapsed.

"Expelliarmus!" Was Sarabella's spell but I stepped aside easily and then turned to face Calder's limp form.

"Ennervate!" I declared and he sat up, shaking his head before springing to his feet.

"Furnunculus," Sedry said and Garret's face broke out in horrible boils.

Jesse felt Alice's forehead. It was freezing. He dug through his school books to find one that might help. He found one and opened it up. He was flipping through the pages when Madame Pomfrey came over with a tray of medicines and antidotes for various curses and hexes.
"I-I'm so c-cold," Alice said through chattering teeth. Jesse pulled another blanket off of the bed next to her and laid it over her.
"This is the best I can do," Jesse said.
"It might help her long enough," Madame Pomfrey replied.
"I'm going to the Great Hall to see what's going on," Jesse said to both of them. He ran out of the doors and down the stairs. He almost ran into the Grey Lady, their house ghost.
"Sorry."
That's quite all right," she replied. "What's going on? Why are you in such a hurry?"
"Alice was hexed so I'm going to the Great Hall."

Out of nowhere, Lindsay came rushing up. "Stop, Garret, Sedry, stop!"

Sedry averted his eyes from the duel. "Lindsay, step back!"

"Flipendo!" Sedry felt the blast hit him into the stone wall, and he fell limp.

Anger, more anger than had ever filled Calder, filled him at this exact moment.

"IMMOBULUS!" he shouted at them both, and they both stopped moving instantly.

"Incarcerus!"now ropes bound them, and they both lay on the floor shaking in the ropes.

As Calder turned to walk away, thinking himslef the victor, his feet flew out from under him.

"Fine." said Calder

"Densaugeo." Calder said, slowly calming, at this Garrets mout seemed to be enlarged, but then the teeth started to buldge out.

"Ennervate."

At that, Sedry jumped up, and said,"Time to return the favor, Garret!"

"Relashio!"he yelled, and Garret fell in a heap, able to stand no more.

"Again unfair, Sedry, you got the first punch, i thought i might be at least able to get the last." Sedry smiled, and they both broke out into a sprint towards the hospital Wing.

Alice hugged the blankets close and pulled her knees up to her chest, trying to contain the little warmth she had.

"Madam Pomfrey," she murmered.

"Yes dear?"

"Whats wrong with me?"

"I don't know yet dear, but I'll figure it out soon."

Sedry and Calder burst in breathing heavily. "Madam Pomfrey," Calder gasped, "where's-"

"She's over here," she responded before he finished the question.

Sedry and Calder walked over and crouched by her bed. Calder wipped her bangs away from her forehead and felt how cold it was.

"Hi," she whispered.

"How do you feel?"

"Like I'm in a freezer."

Kate

Ryoshi and Garret were down but Sarabella still stood, her wand drawn and I was left alone to face her. Suddenly she pulled a face and slipped the wand back into her robes.

"And I was hoping to get a piece of him," She mumbled, aiming a kick at Garret's chest.

"Sure you was," I muttered and turned away.

"Traitor," One Slytherin spat as I passed the table. I ignored him and walked on until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I shook it away without thinking but Sarabella took hold of me again and spun me round to face her.

"Look. I may be a Slytherin but you should know better than anyone that we're not all bad. I planned on double crossing him but the boys cast their spells so fast and..."

"Shush," I warned her, "you have many years left here and you don't want to make yourself an outcast amongst your own house."

"But it's alright for you to do so?" She demanded, hurrying after me as I headed for towards the hospital wing.

"I never fit in anyway but I've learnt how to think like a Slytherin."

"Then you know what curse Garret cast."

"The ______________ curse," We both said at the same time and I nodded grimly.

"The _____________ curse?" A voice demanded. I looked up to see Xander hurrying over. "I wasn't serious about the duel. Who cast the ___________ curse?"

"Garret did but that was before the duel," Sarabella explained.

"Wait. Weren't you two on opposite sides?" Xander asked, sounding a touch confused, as he fell into step beside us.

"That's Slytherins for you, they're always switching sides," Sarabella remarked ruefully.

"Well it's fotunate that I know a cure otherwise the victim would be in big trouble," Xander sighed, walking faster.

"You must be pretty smart to even know about the curse," I noted.

"That or interested in dark magic," Sarabella added.

Xander nodded, "I am seventeen after all."

He continued, "Why is it people never can understand I'm joking? Heck I know the history of this school, so 'course I'm not going to get blood stirring again."

Xander seemed really tense, "You do realize I can't no do anything about this duel, you'll need to all see a teacher. I've only control over my own house."

"Anyway I never catched your name, what are they, I'm Xander Nelson, one of the few people who take this school history seriously."

Kate

"I'm Sarabella and this is..." She hesitated and for a moment, I considered keeping my mouth shut.

"Kate," I sighed.

"And don't worry, we'll say Garret hexed himself. He doesn't want it going round that he was beaten by two Gryffindors and a girl so he'll keep his mouth shut," Sarabella added as we reached the hospital ward.

"Madam Pomfrey, it's the _____________ curse. Have you got all the items you need for a cure?" Xander asked, striding forwards. Sarabella followed him but I hovered in the doorway.

"The _____________ curse? But no student should know that," Madam Pomfrey frowned as she began to check her stocks.

Jesse arrived at the Hall panting. Too much running. He saw a group of kids here but realized that he must have missed the duel. He looked at his watch and noticed that he had to get to Divination. A worthless class in his mind. His favorite was Defense Against the Dark Arts. He turned around and headed back the way he came. Instead of left to the Medical Wing, he turned right to the staircase that led to the Divination. He got to the class about 5 minutes before the class actually started. He spotted an empty table on the top ledge of the seats. He walked up the steps to the table and sat down. He dug through his books and got the right one for this class.
"And so begins another boring class of Divination," he said to himself.

Alice watched as a seventh year and Madam Pomfrey bustled around making something.

She was still freezing, and started rubbing her arms trying to stop them from going numb, as she was sure they soon would.

She started shivering, violently shivering, it was almost like she was having a seizure.

"Why am I so cold?" she studdered, and why didn't she know what was happening to her, it must've been really bad.

"Madame Pomfrey, can you fix it?" Sarabella asked, watching her go through her stocks repetatively.

"I don't know, I'm not quite sure of what I need," Madame Pomfrey replied doubtfully. Suddenly, Sarabella had an idea.

"I'll be right back," she said, sprinting from the Hospital Wing at full speed, headed straight for the Slytherin Common Room.

Her book was hidden at the bottom of her chest, right where she had left it. She flipped to the page that told about the ___________ Curse, and began to read. Suddenly, in the middle of the sentence, the letters began rearanging themselves, until it read:

You cannot win. I found your book, and you won't get it back. Give up, Blood Traitor! -G-

Sarabella screamed and stomped back down to the Hospital Wing. Garret was being fixed up, and she marched straight up to him.

"What the bloody hell did you do with my book?" she screamed, whipping out her wand.
