Mythical Creatures of Sada

"If we don't get stopped and move travel a little faster we can make it there by tomorrow night. But, we have to go through the pass. If we cant make it through in a day we need to bring food." She replied looking over at Syden who was resting.

Telayna had no idea what Nicarga had said. All she knew was that she still loved Carson apparently. But whatever, it got her away from those mutts.

"Damn me and my caring heart!"

She walked on a bit until it got dark. She heard a shout as she sat down pulling her wings in. A net came down over her and it...It was Carson! Him and some others had captured her.

"Carson?" He turned with sad eyes. "Don't you remember me? It's Telayna! Just let me go, my love. I will leave you be, I promise. Don't try to kill me again."

Then other men laughed. Carson looked embarassed and it changed to range...or fear.

"Shut up! Just shut your mouth you demon! And Don't Ever call me you love!" He spat angrily and stormed off. She cried and moaned louder then she ever had. She made the men around her cover their ears and birds flew from trees. She collapsed to the floor and cried.

Nicarga's head flew up at the sound. SHe ran towards where it had come from. It was probably Telayna. She was in her humen form.

She stopped to see Telayna in a net with some men around her. Her eyes searched for a way to help her friend. Out of no where she felt somthing cold on her back.

"Looks like someone is running through the woods alone." The man behind her hissed. She did her best not to do anything. "Thats against the law missy." She jerked her elbow back hitting him in the stomach, she rolled forwards and landed next to Telayna barley escaping a blow to the head.

"WHo are they?" She quietly ask Telayna.

Lethero saw Nicarga run into the forest, so he folllowed her. When he arrived he saw Telayna in a net and Nicarga next to her. Drawing a blade, Lethero walked to the closest man and stuck the sword point on the guys neck until a bead of blood appears. "Let them go or he will die," commanded Lethero.

The men slowly backed up. "I will not be threatened by a demon," said a man holding onto a sword. "Leave us and I'll let you live. I must kill this one" pointed at Telayna "and take the other to the priestess to be judged."

"If you value this man's life, you will leave," and like on que Lethero's pack popped up from the bushes pointing their sword at the men. "If you all wish to live, then leave these two and go home."

"You cursed wolf, you will be killed for this!" the guy yelled and ran for Lethero.

Lethero kicked the guy he was holding down and slid his blade into the man's gut as he came. Lethero slowly slid the blade out of the guys gut. "Now, you others wish to live, leave now." Without hesaitation the guys quickly got to their feet and ran off.

"Carson!" Telayna yelled.

Georgia stood in her human form facing away from the battle feild. That sight was more groussome than anything that she had ever seen. Probably worse than when she had first been shunnded from the human world.

Recalling the memory of that gore brought a tear to her eye, she didn't bother to wipe it away when somebody came up to her.

Fyra flew in, and looking at the carnage, whistled softly. "It seems I've missed the excitement." She looked around the group. "well, since I've managed to avoid all the fighting so far, is there anything I can do to help?"

Kailani stood near to Raiana, cleaning her dagger with sand in a near by stream. Raiana had been quiet and had yet to say anything to Kailani after Kailani had asked if they could talk. They heard a strangled cry from the forest behind them. Could the pack ever stay out of trouble?

'Kailani, what is going on?' Raiana asked turning to face her, 'Why have you come here? you vowed never to leave Jawhallow again'.

'You might want to sit down. What i am going to tell you will not be a quick tale'

Raiana turned in to her human form and sat cross legged on the floor.

'Do you remember what we were trying to do five years ago?' Kailani asked.

'How could i forget' Raiana replied, her voice unusually bitter.

'Well it has returned, stronger than ever!'

'How?' Raiana asked, looking worried.

'By the help of the human priests!'

Nicarga pulled the net off Telayna and stood up. She looked around as Telayna ran to the guy that was laying on the ground gasping for air. Lethero was about to let out a low growl when Nicarga walked over and pulled him away.

"Leave em be." She siad, he started to turn back and a low growl came from Nicarga's throat.

"He's a humen." Lethero hissed,

"He'll be dead soon enough, leave em be." Syden walked over and looked at Lethero then Nicarga to see if he needed to be of an assistance.

"Fine," Lethero mumbled as another wolf walked over to him.

"Do we chase the humens?" The wolf asked.

"No, we'll be gone soon." Lethero said, "Nicarga, you better be right about Telanya."

Telayna held Carson and cried.

"It'll be alright my love. Stay with me. Please don't die!" She said through tears.

"But I deserve to die. I tried to kill you. I loved you. This is my price I have to pay." He let out a sigh and was gone. Telayna kissed his cheek and set him down.

Something came over her. Blinding Rage. And Hate. She saw Lethero standing a ways back. She stood to her feet and pointed to him.

"How could do this!!! How could you kill him! You really are a demon! I loved him and you killed him!" She grabbed her sword and charged at Lethero.

He grabbed her wrist and flung her sword aside. He grabbed her and spun her around, holding his sword point by her throat. Sense hit her like a brick wall. She started crying and Lethero put down his sword. She collapsed onto him crying.

"I am sorry" She whispered.

Lethero held Telayna at arms lenght. "Telayna, I ne the one to say I be sorry," Lethero said. "I only killed him because I had to. I know how you feel. I lost a brother because of these humans. No go lay down we be leaving when you calm down."

Nicarga watched as Telayna walked away. She walked over to Lethero and looked at him. There was a small hint of sadness on his face.

"What happened to your brother?" She asked gently.

"That be my buisness." He said trying to hide the sadness in his face.

"Please, what happened to him?" She asked.

"It be a few years back," Lethero started, "my father still be leader of this pack and we be only moving with the food. Well after my father died, my brother, Scado, became pack leader. After about a year of him being pack leader we be attacked by humans. We were found out because one of hour wolves turned us in, we never found out why. Anyway we fought hard and killed a lot. But before the humans retreated on of them released an arrow intended for me. He jumped in front of me the arrow peircing his heart. That is why we're not trusting of new wolves and why we be moving.

Telayna stood a good few yards away and let her wings out. She felt so naked without them. She smiled as she felt them all the way and sat herself down by a tree. She imediatley started to cry again. She knew her eyes had to be blood red but she didn't care. Why did she have to love such thing as a human? Of course, it's not like there were any other of her kind. She had not met a single one. But if they were out there, she;d find them. Maybe if she stuck with the werewolves, she might find them. That would be the day. She staggered up and walked over to Lethero who was talking Nicarga.

"uh...Lethero?" he looked over to her.

"Yes Telayna? You calmed down? We should be moving soon."

"Yeah I know...but I know I've been a bit stuborn and haven't appreciated you...I-uh-I mean your....uh...pack. And well...I know I said I wasn't going to travel with you but...you did say I was coming and...well I figured that...well...--

"Spit it out girl."

"I want to know if I can travel with you and look for some of my own kind." She hung her head and looked and her clawed feet.

"Well that be why we have been trying to bring you with us. You be the first Alan I be seeing for quite some time. Some say your kind be extinct."

"Oh...ok then...I'm feeling better by the way."

"Good." A wolf came to him. "We should be going sir, before it gets dark. Lethero nodded and called for the rest to follow him.

Georgia didn't really feel like going with the rest of the pack, but she knew the humans would be back soon and she didn't feel like adding to the carnage in front of them in any way.

She didn't feel accepted by the pack, but it wasn't a new feeling. She had never been accepted anywhere.

Telayna walked over to the shape shifter.

"Hey. I saw you change before. So you're a shape shifter? That's cool. Oh. Uh what was your name?"

"Georgia. Yours is Telayna right?"

"Yeah. You know...I've never met a shapeshifter before."

"Your kind aint too plentiful either."

Telayna looked at her feet as they walked. "Yeah. I've never met one."

"You've never met another Alan?! Not even your parents? " She seemed shocked.

"No. My mother was killed for having a 'monster' and my father...Well, I never met him. Carson's parents snuck my out of the mess and raised me till I could hide my wings and claws."

"Oh...I'm sorry."

"Don't be. It's not something for you to worry about. ANd that's why I'm here, to find some of my kind." She smiled at Georgia, but it took everything to muster that fake smile. She felt oh so dead.
