Hello! Want a friend to tag along for NaPo? This is the sign-up for you!
National Poetry Month is right around the corner, starting April 1! If you're new to NaPo, be sure to stop by the Information Center to get a better idea of what's going on. Everyone is welcome to participate in NaPo whether you're going for 30 poems, or just have time for a few, we're just happy you're joining us is this poetry journey! It's truly one of my favorite events on YWS and I can't wait to read what you all come up with.
The last couple of years we've done a group called NaPo Buddies for NaPo where we paired up people who were interested in having an encouragement buddy for the duration of the month!
Just like last year if you sign up for NaPo Buddies - you will be encouraged to comment in your assigned buddy's NaPo thread periodically throughout the month. Other options for encouraging might be to check in with them, post encouragement on their wall, letting them know your favorite poem they've written, collabing on a poem, or even exchanging poetry prompts - but really how you choose to encourage them is up to you! Of course you are not limited to just commenting on only your Buddy's page, but this way you know there will be at least one person who will comment on your thread and who knows? Maybe you'll even make a new friend!
I'll be throwing weekly reminders in here with a motivational meme or word and a reminder to encourage each other, but this isn't a contest or anything too structured!
If you would like to be paired up with a NaPo Buddy please comment below and subscribe to this thread before April 1st. Pairings will be out on April 2nd. You can also comment below if you have any questions or concerns! Just like last year, depending on numbers you may get assigned 1 buddy or 2 buddies. If you have to drop out of NaPo for some reason, you should still try to encourage your buddy!
