While I can't post what I really want to post, I might as well share a new character I made for Whispers in the Wind. I haven't fully fleshed her out yet but her name is Salina Everbrew and she is a powerful young black witch. She will give the story a little peek into the other side >.>

    Here are some inspo pics:

She is around Margo and Juno's age. She has very blonde hair and icy blue eyes. She's very tall and thin.

By the way, I think I forgot to mention these changes but the bookshop in Whispers in the Wind will be changed to an antique store because I think that fits better (and it makes sense if it holds random magical items). I think it's going to be a really empty antique store that pretty much only get visits from witches but also still is a front (there's a secret room in the back that sells more obviously witchy things).

The aesthetic for Whispers in the Wind is going to be dark academia until the story takes a turn and it becomes more cottagecore x dark academia. I feel like this mood board only really gets the first part of book one (not the revised later half), but to be honest the later half hasn't been written yet so it's sort of still up in the air.

I've decided to add multiple POVs in my story that will slowly enter the narrative. It'll begin with Margo as the only POV but then Juno will have POV ever so often and then another character. In the end, there will be six POVs telling the story from different angles. I'm hyped.

Also I created a new character called Salina Everbrew. She's going to be a black witch who turns good. I'm really obsessed with her. I think she's my new favorite heheh.

Hi friends who read my book when I posted it on YWS. It used to be called There's So Much More to Juno Blackwood and then I called it Untitled for a long time. Today, I have decided to call it Whispers in the Wind (which is a title I've been thinking about for a while). I really like this title. I hope you guys like it too!

The thunder crackled loudly overhead. Underneath an umbrella, she watched the abandoned building with a bitter feeling in her gut. The old shutters shivered in the wind. Water gushed rapidly along the street, carrying fallen branches from the trees. She waited for the signal.

A light turned on in one of the broken windows of the abandoned building. She took a deep breath and crossed the street.

It was dark inside except for the sudden white flashes of lightning which lit up the old entryway. It was quieter, the storm was only a faint sound in the distance. The loudest sound was the dripping of water hitting buckets left out to catch the leaks. She closed her umbrella and walked up the stairs.

Each step groaned beneath her boots. The railing wobbled against her touch. At the top of the stairs, she saw warm, golden light from the room at the very end of the hall. Slowly, she approached, dreading each step. Her hand shook as she moved to push the door open.

“Come in, young Blackwood. Do not be afraid.”

    It's not great but it's a start.

When I saw you’re reply to this post I thought it was from someone else and I got mad lol
I think this is really good, I can watch it like a movie, and the pacing and focal points are great.

So on my main profile I wrote about this but I also wanted to post about it here.

I'm replotting the entire main plot of my novel. Griffin is being deleted because he is a weak character and the story will revolve more about Juno and Margo's relationship, black witches, and Juno's struggle with being a witch with weak powers. It's going to be a lot of work to change the story but it's going to be worth it. Honestly I feel like it won't be that hard (lol it'll probably be a lot of work tbh). I'm going to delete the main scenes and rewrite them and I will be adding a lot of scenes. I would say I won't have to do too much deleting since Griffin was already not really in the story to begin with. I can adapt most of my scenes to the new story line!

Idk how much to say about the plot but it's going to be wild! I'm very hyped about it!

    Yesssssssss this is so exciting!

    Mageheart replied · Apr 10, 2020

I agree!! I can't wait to see what you do with it now. <3

    Charm replied · Apr 10, 2020

GUYS You don't even know! I can't wait for you to read it!!!!!!!!! It's a more grown up story. I felt like when I first wrote it, it was too mild and boring because I didn't want to include a lot of death and darkness, but NOW IT'S BLACK MAGIC DARKNESS BABYYYYYY

Let's just say in this new story, Juno takes some dark measures hehehe

Woohoo I am so excited too!!

Hi guys so I have been saying for about a year now that I will give those of you who are interested my 2nd draft of Juno Blackwood to read and give feedback, but I am at this point where I am unsure if I want to give you the full 2nd draft when I have finished editing it or if I should post it chapter by chapter on YWS like I did with the 1st draft. I can start submitted a chapter a week now but to give you the full novel it will take more months. I'm asking because I am unsure and I want to hear what you think. I originally wanted to finish editing, then give you the full manuscript, and while you read it, I was going to begin writing the 1st draft of the sequel. But it's been so long since I first offered my 2nd draft and I feel bad so taking so long.

    BluesClues replied · Jul 5, 2019

I think you'll probably get better comprehensive feedback if we get it all at once when it's done!

    Raindeer replied · Jul 5, 2019

I agree with Blue- full manuscript! I think I’ll be able to give feedback in a more free way than chapter by chapter reviews. :)

    Charm replied · Jul 5, 2019

That's what I was thinking, but I'm glad to hear you agree. I'm not sure if you remember, but the book is split into two parts. I should be done with the first part soon so maybe you can read that and give feedback while I edit the second part. Or I can give you the full manuscript, whichever you guys think is best.

    BluesClues replied · Jul 5, 2019

My memory is pretty bad, so I'd want the whole thing all at once!

    Mageheart replied · Jul 6, 2019

I also think a full manuscript might be better, but I'd love to read it in parts if you're looking for feedback sooner rather than later! I'm not sure how quickly I'd be able to look through it, but I could definitely read part one when you're done revising it.

    Charm replied · Jul 6, 2019

    @magestorrow Thanks!

I think I'm just going to give you all the full manuscript once I'm done. I got through many chapters today so I think if I put the work in I should be finished in a month or two. I'm getting to the better parts soon so there won't be much to do at least I don't think there will be. Despite all my editing, I'm still unsatisfied with the first part. If this book sucks I've been thinking that I might not write this part of the story and make the sequel the beginning and then just use this book as backstory (if that makes sense because that's pretty much what this book is, it's the beginning to Margo's witch life). BUT that's only if you guys think it's bad lol.

I have a list of people who said they would like to read and give feedback for draft two of my novel (it was called Juno Blackwood but now it's untitled). I'm not sure if all of you still want to read it. If so, please respond to this post. Some of you have changed your usernames. I don't know your new ones so yiikes. If any of you know the new usernames please help a girl out.

    BluesClues replied · Oct 13, 2018

I'm interested! Do you have a deadline? If I can do it over like Christmas break then I'm definitely in.

    mellifera replied · Oct 13, 2018

I'd love to read it! I don't know when I'll be available to give much feedback as of right now, so I'll just second Blue's questions about whether you have a deadline set or not!

    SnowGhost replied · Oct 13, 2018

    Ooh count me in

    PrincessInk replied · Oct 13, 2018

I'm interested too! But I think I'll have to drop it if there's a certain time limit to read+give feedback though. Sorry about that.

    Que replied · Oct 13, 2018

I’d also love to read it still! :) I’m not sure if I can do it within a certain time, but if you have a deadline, then I’ll do my best.

    silverhanded replied · Oct 13, 2018

    I'm still down!

    Charm replied · Oct 13, 2018

I'm so glad to hear you guys still want to read it! I'm sorry it's been so long. Editing has taken me a lot longer than I thought it would. I have no deadline. Once I'm finished going over it, I'll send copies to it to each of you over google docs. Then I'll write the sequel while I wait for you guys to read through it. You can take as long as you need, but I would like it to only take a few months at most. I don't mind waiting longer for some of you of course.

    ellasnotebook replied · Oct 13, 2018

    I’d love to read it!

    Dreamy replied · Oct 13, 2018

    Yep, I'm in!

    BluesClues replied · Oct 13, 2018

    In that case, can do!

    amelie replied · Oct 13, 2018

I won't be able to. Super sorry! I'd love to read it at some point but I'm way busy w/ school and activities all through the school year. Good luck tho!

    bluewaterlily replied · Oct 14, 2018

I'm in. it might be November or December before I can start but I'll be happy to go through and read it <3
