    Breath of Life

11 days in and you amazing poets are still going strong! And to highlight just one of these amazing poems we have:

    Today's
#PCrewpick is from one of the amazing poets around this NaPo @Stringbean

This poet has a whole amazing thread This Is How a Zombie Rises that is full of powerful poetry that seems to mirror the events of a funeral in each title and maybe more

But I want to highlight one specific poem the especially caught my eye
    Breath of Life
The imagery of this poem really draws the reader in and it almost leaves you breathless
It takes you into a scene and still makes you think more about what is being said.

    My favorite lines are
    Broken roots can lead nowhere
but dead ends. And after all, dust was certainly enough
    for dust

    It really makes you think

Read the rest of Stringbean's wonderful poetry here in their thread! Lot's of wonderful poetry to come!
If you see a poet you would like to highlight, you can use the #/ThePeoplesPick hashtag!

It's Sunday again, which means it's time for another #PCrewPick ! I'm so excited to be sharing a poem from @rida's thread, so my silence won't be mistaken for peace. She posted her first poem in the thread just a few hours ago and I was immediately swept away by the imagery, subject and structure. This poem perfectly encapsulates the experience of a son or daughter and what can sometimes be a unbalanced relationship with their mother. It's honest and personal, yet a universal experience almost anyone can understand. Every time I think I've picked a favorite line, I find a new one. My two favorites are

and i think of you: the way you keep
    saying love and i keep hearing lost;

    and

mother, mother. the metaphor here is that
i keep saying i will write a poem
about love but everything comes back
to you, to this: to our language
of fists and mouth; to our broken ways of saying
    we love each other.

Just absolutely breathtaking! Make sure you check out rida's thread, and don't forget to keep up with this month's PCrewPicks!
