Hello everyone!
It's not often that I get to make an announcement as exciting as this so I hope you'll be super excited as well when I tell you that three people have just been promoted to global moderators!
Please join me in congratulating the wonderful @BlueAfrica, @Holysocks and @Elinor who are going to really swell our ranks and bring a whole heap of fresh skills and activity to the Big Brother group. This will help us take better care of the site and in turn its most important assets: our members!
So first off, please say a big congratulations but also a big thank you to these three lovely people who are giving up their time to help provide you with a place to share your writing and chill out with your fellow authors.
Now, as a little aside and because I'm sure this is a question everyone is wanting to ask: just how do we make our picks for new moderators, either junior or global? We look at a lot of things and sometimes it depends on what we need at that exact moment in time - whether we're low on storybook mods or if we have a drop in our review numbers.
However we're always looking for the same things we value: people who are friendly, welcoming, dedicated to the site, frequent/ helpful reviewers, active in key areas like storybooks and resources and full of YWS spirit. There are more things like that which can get you noticed but I just wanted to communicate a few of those to you.
But I also want to tell you that if you're eager to become a moderator and help the site then don't give up. Maybe we haven't noticed you yet, or maybe we have a ridiculous number of great members to choose from and you're on our list, but not quite at the top yet. That doesn't mean you won't make it there and even if you don't, you can still make an incredible contribution by sharing your writing and reviewing other peoples'.
