It's up to you, Lefty! What kind of character were you thinking of? I agree that an outsider might be our best option.

@Wolfie36 A trouble maker kid. I was originally thinking a guy but it could girl. Leather jackets. Beanies. Denim or black jeans. They have a bit of a record due mostly to shoplifting and truss passing. Ended up in Juvie once and was eventually expelled from their school. Their mother thinks a lifestyle change would be good for him/her and sends them to live with Layla's family for one semester. Layla's cousin kind of drives her nuts and they put her into tough situations. She feels like she needs to keep them out of trouble because her family is responsible for them and this feeling only grows after they both become animorphers. The cousin ends up getting a spot in the science class because a girl "Hannah" drops out of school, and the class. Layla Isn't exactly an angel when it comes to doing everything she's told or not rebeling at all, but what her cousin does is so far past what she would normally consider stooping to that they tend to get under her skin. Once they become animorphers, they all have to deal with the cousins rebellious ways too.

@Hattable You and Wolfie are also interested in posting a character. I only posted mine because Wolfie asked. If at least three of us want to make new characters for the spot, I'm not sure how best we should choose to make it fair. With my character idea, I could easily make him an NPC and update Layla's family info as if he's a brother or something. I could only talk about him from Layla's POV and he wouldn't need to be an animorph. Just in play to progress Layla's character along.

No, I like your idea, Lefty, and I'm fine with it not being "fair." You're the creator of the storybook, so go right ahead! Boy or girl, doesn't really matter, but I'd definitely make them an animorpher too. I'd make them older than the rest of the students (like they were held back). We could also go with Hatt's idea of a character that kinda messes up all the plans.

Thank you @Wolfie36, but I like that everything has sort of been a team effort and team decisions up to this point. I don't really feel like I should have say over others, because each of us are equally a part of the storybook. I'm always afraid of being bossy, or forcing people into things by making decisions for them. So I don't want to take the spot because I created it. But if people think I should take the spot, then I'm happy to do it. :)

So since Blasphrica left, we are going to make another character to fill in her spot. I like @Hattable's idea of a hyena, some person getting crazy and having some problem. However @LeftyWriter's and @Wolfie36's ideas could go along with that as being the bad apple of the SB.
I feel like it should be Lefty, as she said she could have him as a brother or something.

I mean...do we really need another character? I feel like we have quite a lot as is and we'd get along fine as it is.
But if it's a trouble maker we're looking for, we could also consider editing one of the current characters? I haven't posted yet and right now Jinx is already the outsider with his age, height , and attitude. If I took away his kindness and made him selfish instead, he could easily cause the group a lot of trouble. Just a suggestion. ;)
But if we want a new character, I would agree that it should be someone who isn't an Animorpher. We're already well into Day 1 and it would be difficult to incorporate someone new into the field trip.

@Nightcrawler Its true we don't really need another character, it's just that it's an odd number now and feels weird.

When I said my idea could be a non-animorphers brother, I meant that if I wasn't making the new character that I could incorporate said character into Layla's storyline as a family member. Not making a new non-animorph character.

Edit: If I was making the character, they would come in as Layla's cousin, enroll in the school, and join the science class, thus becoming an animorpher but being a little different than the others because he's new and no one knows him.

Also, at this point in the story, it wouldn't be too difficult to get a new character on the field trip. They enroll in the first day of school, grab Hannah's spot in the science class (saying she dropped out) and Nr. Neil could invite him along. Just because a couple other parts have mentioned the science class already doesn't mean that they didn't leave out a new kid coming in. Maybe they didn't care much, or it was pretty insignificant. :)

@LeftyWriter I was just wondering if you've had the time to finish my profile pic. I'm sorry if I sound a little impatient, but I'm anxious to see how it works.

@LordZeus I'll start working on it right now. Thanks for reminding me. ;). When I got home last night I kind of had a headache and I hadn't thought about it this morning. I'll message you when I have a prototype finished.

Ok thanks! No hurry, I'm fine with waiting. And whenever you get the time, please check out my post in the SB. I hope its okay, I was having trouble deciding what to do in the first day.

I just feel like making another character later into the game won't work out as well. We've already designed all of our characters and their relations, and I feel like a new character wouldn't advance the plot much and may just add unnecessary explanation. I don't know. That's just my opinion. :)

@Nightcrawler If we did add another character, I would be willing to kill mine off a some point. Having a character die at some point might not only be some kind of motivation or growth for some of the characters, but in this kind of story, would be realistic. If they got caught by the Japanese and they killed him or something, it would show the animorphers what their up against and bring more fear into the group. I'm only mentioning this because it might be a good addition to the plot at some point, but at the same time, I'm sure no one is interested in killing off their characters. So if one was created from the beginning with that intention, it might be helpful.
