@Stegosaurus ~ Michael Layla has seen Mike around as they are in several classes together. They've even been partnered up on a couple projects. She thinks he seems nice enough but feels indifferent towards him. She finds his arguments amusing and when she eavesdrops, often feels she could pose much better points than him and win most arguments against him, but she doesn't care much for drama and never gets into it, keeping to herself. In a group outing, she could see herself chatting with him, but friendship seems unlikely due to their polar-oposite personalities.
@HazelGrace16 ~ Emma Considering Layla and Emma are both introverts who rarely go out of their way to make new connections, they haven't spoken much. Layla thinks she seems cool and like they might have a lot in common if they ever get the chance to hang out. She thinks Emma seems sweet and notices her awkwardness.
@Sunshine1113 ~ Gwen Layla finds Gwen intriguing and wants to learn more about her. Although she's never talked to her much, she likes when Gwen is in her class. She feels like their something about Gwen that she can kind of "click" with. They both have little brothers as their only other siblings, which is something they have in common.
@Chaser ~ Neon Layla finds Neon annoying. Kind of like a little brother. Why? It might have to do with how openly arrogant he is. Or maybe the fact that, even though she has decent grades in her classes, he seems to get everything long before she does, like it's just common knowledge, even though he's two years younger than her and technically isn't even supposed to be in high school. She mostly ignores him.
@Blaspherica ~ Hannah Layla only talks to Hannah when necessary. Similar to Mike, their personalities clash. And while Layla is perfectly happy with the way she is and in her comfort zone, sometimes she envies how easy Hannah finds it to socialize and how much she wants to be a part of things.
@LordZeus ~ Daniel Layla wouldn't necessarily consider Daniel a friend, but she enjoys his company. Considering she wants to be a Biologist and he wants to be a Zoologist, they often get into interesting conversations about the fields at lunch. They both enjoy running and seem to be on a similar level of introvert. Layla has witnessed him being bullied more than once and feels a bit protective of him. She might even stand up to one of his bullies if she sees it happen again.
@Noelle ~ Ryker Layla doesn't know a lot about Ryker, but kind of sees him as the rambunctious class clown, which is both entertaining and annoying at times. She doesn't feel very comfortable around Ryker and while she can read most people well, she can't quite figure him out, which is unsettling to her. She tries to avoid him when she can.
@TheFantasy14 ~ Riley Layla thinks Riley seems nice and they've had a couple conversations about music and art over lunch. However, they are only in a couple classes together and don't see each other much.
@Nightcrawler ~ Jinx To Layla, Jinx seems kind of troubled and mysterious. After all, he's the oldest kid in her class. She knows very little about him. He's that kid in a couple of her classes who sits in the back row and the moment the bell rings, zips out of the room quick and silent. She honestly finds him kind of intimidating and a little scary, so she tries to avoid him as much as she can.
@Wolfie36 ~ Charlotte Layla has probably talked to Charlotte more than anyone else in her class (with the exception of Dan). Charlotte started talking to her one day while she was minding her own business and they sort of clicked. Both introverted. Both on the track team. Charlotte sometimes joins Layla and Dan in their science conversations. Layla thinks Charlotte is kind of adorable in a sweet, quiet, smallish-person kind of way and finds it amusing how skittish she is, since very little fazes Layla. They both kind of pull each other out of their comfort zones in different ways. Layla tries to get Charlotte out of her shy, timid shell while Charlotte gets Layla to open up and participate in school activities.
@Hattable ~ Oliver Layla likes Oliver. A lot. Major crush, although it would probably take a lot of coaxing for her to admit it. Not only does she think he's the cutest boy in her class, but he seems like a really awesome person, too. She didn't really know who he was until they were put as partners on a project back in the fall, and that was her favorite high-school project to date. She finds his awkwardness to be adorable. His glasses are adorable. Heck, even his peanut butte crackers are adorable. She's not one of those teens who's too nervous or shy to tell him she likes him, she's just has a hard time opening up and telling people how she feels and she's been quite happy gazing at him from a far.

That's fine. What I said wasn't set in stone. I think you made a lot of good points. When it comes to partial-morphing though... maybe it would make sense for them to have some issues at the beginning when their DNA is changing and they haven't learned how to control it yet, where they have an issue of getting fangs, tails, eyes, etc... just until the transition has settled. It wouldn't necessarily give them any advantages, just more issues they need to try and cover up at school. If not, I'm fine with them only being able to morph fully. Thoughts?

@LeftyWriter I like the idea of being uncontrolled when they first get it? Maybe when they first get sick, when the waves of nausea or whatever are the worst, their bodies start having a reaction to the DNA serum-ness and all the kids start morphing back and forth before it settles down.
Ooh. Now I have a really interesting scene in my head of Jinx struggling as he changes from tiger to human, and has to hide his cat eyes and fangs from his dad. XD
I think it may be better if that's more of a temporary, towards the beginning of their change kind of a thing, you know? It's just a little too convenient for it to be permanent, I feel. Again, this is just me spilling every idea in my head. XD

I have an idea for when they first start morphing, of Oliver waking up one morning and finding everything in his room oddly large. Yadda yah, oh shoot, I'm a newt! Then his grandpa's dog start chasing him.
Might also make him think he's a lizard instead, at first.
Alsooo, two characters crushing on him. ;-; I shall make him completely oblivious to everything! Muwhahaha! :p

@Nightcrawler It's pretty decent. I group of kids rescue a wolf from a science facility which they find out was infected with a lab-modified version of Parvo. The wolf recovered, but they became infected too and it altered their DNA to be part human part wolf. So, they couldn't change into wolves and they didn't look part wolf, but they got wolf abilities like super sight, hearing, strength, etc... And their eyes would glow when they summoned their abilities. It was pretty interesting. I think my favorite part of the book was when they were first in transition. The main character ended up sinking her teeth into raw ground beef and tried to attack the class hamster in science class due to overpowering wolf instinct.
It's actually a series, but I didn't read past the first one because I wasn't liking the second one as well. I enjoyed the first one, though.

And I forgot... Just letting everyone know that I've edited Oliver's page ever so slightly to include that his parents spend most of their time arguing, if work doesn't keep them busy enough, as well as changing his height from 5'9" to 5'11" and adding the line "Oliver also dislikes loud noises, confrontation, and bananas."

Idea! After rehearsal, Riley's with Ry and Emma and she starts getting symptoms of one of her cardiac episodes (dizziness, nausea, headache, ect.) goes to bathroom to splash some water on her face, looks in the mirror, and sees the Lynx ears sprouting from her head!
@LeftyWriter, Riley does have a crush on Oliver too, so I'm interested to see what happens with those two.
@Nightcrawler, Riley has a minor heart defect that is common especially in adolescent girls. I Forget what it's called, but I actually have it, and my cardiologist says that it isn't fatal, so there's no danger of Riley or me dying from heart failure. A lot of Riley's character is based off of me, actually, so it's really going to be fun to write her. Like a choose your own adventure.
And @Hattable maybe Oliver after his experience with turning into a Newt, he could get Riley's number from the student directory (Cause y'know, the whole cat ears thing.) thinking maybe they could figure things out...
Oliver: hello? Riley? It's Oliver. Riley: (resists urge to throw phone against wall.) Hi! Oliver: so umm, you had cat ears yesterday... Riley: oh you saw that? (Yada yada blah blah blah) Oliver: do you know anything about this because, um, I just turned into a newt. Riley: a what? Oliver: a newt. Riley: Neat! (Mentally kicks herself for being an idiot) Something like that maybe.
Ok! Scrap everything! New plot. New characters! What is this world like, now that we know Oliver doesn't like bananas? This changes everything people. Everything.
