YWS is celebrating its third Christmas in July this weekend (July 18 - 19, GMT time)!

In preparation for this festive time and annual tradition, why not write or draw something and then post it below? Just like Christmas sweaters, the worse, the better!

Santa went on vacation
to escape the elves' adulation.
but in the sun he fried
like a chicken pot pie
and smelled, for weeks, of bacon.

There is no drawing application better than Microsoft Paint. Paint forever!!

Chirstmas Rescuring: A Story with of Friends

A short story I wrote about Christmas..

A poem.

My sunburn is red,
and my nose is blue.
I hate the sun and snow,
I just don't know what to do.

A poem.

Red is a truly charming color,
Santa's clothing is red after all.
I look into the sky, I suprised.
Santa Claus is coming!
In the afternoon, this July?
Alas, I mistaken the sunlight with Santa,
As the sun is burning red.

What's going on?

Send a gift to a friend, and send a gift to a new member. Send a gift to a moderator, and send a gift to whomever. Send one of a box, or maybe one of a fox -- just don't send one of a fox standing on a box (we're out of those)! Along with these, balloons, and moons, more gifts are coming soon!


How much does it cost?

Many gifts are available and are quite economical. At fifty points per each, you can so many it'll make you screech!

Not only that, but the first four are free, and I hope you'll agree to send even more so that we can increase our score.


How do I send a gift?

They're available to send under the Gifts tab, which is found via the Gear tab. Easier though is to go to the member's profile, where you'll find the "Give Gift" link in the right-side aisle.

There's a reason why I'm an author and not an artist...

I do not like how a Christian holiday is coincidentally scheduled exactly during the Muslim Eid. Others might even find this offensive considering Muslims originally scheduled Eid to be separate from other religions.

Just a thought @Nate, maybe next year's would be a couple of days later.

@Saradomin ->> This is the third annual Christmas in July. We do this every year; this year, Eid just happens to be around the same time. This is also not a Christian holiday as there is no such thing as a Christmas in July on the Christian calendar. It's just something fun that a lot of organizations do. I am sorry you have taken offense, but I do believe you're overreacting.

@Nate No problem, I was only giving you a heads up just in case anyone does overreact because I certainly am calm. It's just that with YWS's friendly reputation I didn't expect an event to overcast important religious dates. I like what you're doing with the website, keep it up.
