@15253 It's not about being annoying though, I don't think that was what Silver meant. It's also not about "striking you down", it's just a discussion about games, opnions and how careful we should be with our words. I don't get why you always believe that one if us is going to "fire" something at you like in some kind of verbal battlefield. That aside, you're completely disregarding the stories and what they imply in the pokemon games, and as ridiculous as they might be, they're all different. The fact that Giovanni, the rutheless criminal guy that you've been finghting was the "honorable" last Gym Leader before the league? "How messed up is that?", says your past self. The fact that you find and fight Red in Mt.Silver in the follow up? "How amazing is that", says your past self. The fact that you gotta track down a legendary through an entire region to capture it, or participate in a battle frontier with a brand new set of gym leaders STRONGER than the League itself, and some of them wielders of Legendaries? "How cool is that?" says your past self. The fact that N is the leader of Team Plasma in Black/White, actually WINS the entire League and you have to fight him to confront his ideals? "how interesting could that be?", etc. The Black and White story was overall much more mature than the others, anyway. Each Pokemon, no matter how similar they are, had enough differences to make them unique. You can find them repetitive though, it's normal. But They've been able to break the formula quite a few times. Example: Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Better yet: Miror B. 'Nuff said.
I'm not exactly sure how you can effectively compare FPS' to Pokemon (RPG series), though, but why not. I prefer TPSs, personally.
Firered/Leafgreen are remakes, but they added both story and gameplay elements which were not so bad. Namely, the post league quests, the Suicune/Raikou/Entei chase, and of course, the Rematch of the Indigo Plateau. The entire remake thing is not a lack of originality from the pokemon company, it's a tradition that's been going on since Leaf green and Fire red. They always make remakes or spin-offs after one main series title. The Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby one has an enhanced story of the original, new characters, an entire part of the main plot dedicated to Deoxys (who was just an event back then), and most importantly, it's a gift to the fans who have been asking for this remake for A WHILE. It's like you get to relive your childhood game, but with more stuff than before. That's a pretty cool concept.
Now, for my favorite of the mains... Heh. I'd go with Emerald, of course. The amount of content in this game is just amazing. Hoenn was so much bigger than Kanto, it had so many more things, and I thoughtt hat after the League, i'd be finished with it (first league I actually completed, Fire Red bein' close second), but NO! the post-league was actually even longer, with the entire Latios chase (I had used my Master ball for Rayquaza, not knowing about it) across the region, the possibility to re-fight the Gym leaders (who by now are as strong as the Elite 4), the Battle Frontier, the National pokedex with Pokemons from previous versions, the quite impressive soundtrack, the legendary conflict between Earth and Water... It had it all, for me. Enjoyed it a lot.

@Charizard821, I created battle quotes for both Gabriel and Jewels, but that's just for fun - this SB isn't a game, so naturally, our characters shouldn't be generic. However, they can be reliable in the way of showing the other storybookers what our characters are likely to say in fighting. Don't consider their use mandatory, but view them as a safety net, so that when you're completely blank, you can either use the quotes as they are, or you simply use a variation.
Speaking of battle quotes, I quite liked Aegeas', @TheSilverFox. They were precisely what one would expect him to say.

So, I will be posting sometime today. (Even for you, Hunter, it should still be on Sunday.) After that, please don't expect me to do much more than check up on the DT for a little while. Tech week for Little Women begins Monday and ends with the school shows on Thursday.
Sorry! I know I ask for a lot of breaks.

@Buggiedude2340 Well as long as you can come back with a bang like Char and Astral did several times... Take your breaks! That and life hits hard sometimes.

I guess another reason I like Pokémon White Version is because me and my brother are very, very similar to the brothers described in the legends of the story. I am the younger brother who stands for ideals, and he is the older brother who stands for truth. I've had so many battles with him, both in those games and in real life, that it's crazy. My passion for the game partially stems from that reason - the brothers described in the legends are characters that I can relate to, and it made the events of the story all the more exciting. That and the plot is absolutely amazing.
@Tortwag: Wow. You took my original argument and expanded it in such an incredible way. O_O
I agree with you. While the Pokémon may not vary too significantly between the games, the plots certainly do. I haven't played too many of the games, but the different plots always fascinate me, and they make each game worth it. Fighting against N was probably one of my favorite things to do when I played White. I beat him and Ghetsis in my first try. My brother lost to N repeatedly, so I was laughing my head off. XD Those plots are always amazing, and I can never play another game while I'm in the middle of one of those plots. They're just that awesome.
Those remakes are also cool as well. I remember when the news concerning Pokémon X and Y came out, and how there was also a big interest in Generation III remakes. People wanted to play the remakes for Ruby and Sapphire, and, when those remakes came out, they sold rapidly. Each of the remakes always adds something to the original story, whether it's new characters, new places, new events, or some combination of those. I never played Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald, probably because I was either way too young (and when I was little, I didn't have much of an interest in video games) or I'd never heard of them. In fact, we only started hearing about the games when my older brother saw a commercial for HeartGold and SoulSilver. Even then, it wasn't until the commercials for Black and White came out that we were interested in the games. As a result, I never played those games, and I'm happy that they made remakes. The remakes allowed me to play a game that I'd never had the opportunity to play before, and allowed me to experience a region that I had not previously seen.
The remakes are awesome for both new fans and old fans. People who played the original versions of the games get to experience again some of their childhood memories, and those who haven't played the original versions of the game have the chance to see what made those games so amazing. That's why I like the remakes - they are fun, exciting, and I like the way that they take the original game and add more to it and expand it. Your thoughts are wonderful, Tortwag, and I agree with you in every way.
@AstralHunter: Thanks! You have no idea how hard it was to make those quotes. XD The ones you see are the product of at least an hour of reading them individually, and switching them out with other quotes if I felt they weren't suitable for this SB. I'm happy you like them.

I'm double-posting because I've really wanted to do that for a long time and now I have an excuse to do so.
This is a really random, off-topic note, but my younger brother played an Oregon Trail video game. His character was mauled by a bear and died. You can imagine my reaction to that. XD

I await your post with enthusiasm, @Buggiedude2340!
As a gesture of courtesy to everyone (and a request for mercy), I shall hare with you my schedule: 1. I have to write a super post for PMD 2. and Dragons, 3. a normal post for Wilderness of Machafuko (Chaos) 4. and High Fantasy, 5. as well as two first posts for Trapped in Hell 6. and Everyone has their Demons. 7. Add to that the week the editors of the Young Writers Literary Journal have left to judge the submissions 8. and school starting again, and you will realise why I am battening down the hatches before the storm hits.
Please excuse my impending absence. I shall try to inform you of my progress as the week advances.
EDIT: *slaps @TheSilverFox with a dead fish for interrupting my proclamation/complaint/request*
Also, you got it backwards. Reshiram, the fiery white one, represents Truth and Zekrom, the electric black one, represents Ideals. And be glad you don't have another major character for whom you had to write battle quotes...
*smacks @TheSilverFox with a dead jellyfish for giving me an extra notification, so gives him an extra in return*
Now you can say you smell something fishy.

@AstralHunter: You are aware that I can obtain Zekrom in Pokémon White Version, and my brother can obtain Reshiram in Pokémon Black Version? It doesn't make much sense, but just roll with it.
You know, I usually feel like my life is busy. Whenever I see what you have going on, I think of myself as the laziest idiot in the world. XD You are quite busy; after all, I can think of at least 6 SBs that you take part in. O_O Best of luck to you! I look forward to the PMD megapost. I might not post anything myself because I'm not sure if the idea I have involves a character who is too OP (which I why I never specify the location of the events that occur concerning the character), and because I'm working on another story plot and trying to come up with names for my characters. Oh, and there's just one more thing I have to say....
*slaps @AstralHunter with a dead shark because those hurt a lot worse than a dead fish*
That's for slapping me with dead aquatic creatures just because I was having fun.
Edit: Oh, I forgot about the quotes. I liked making them a lot, because they remind me of Fire Emblem: Awakening, and the character's quotes. They'd have a variety of quotes for the opening of battle, for fighting, if they won or lost, or even if they achieved a critical hit. Some of my favorite quotes are also some of the most evil (thank you, Henry. ) I enjoyed creating those quotes a lot, and I'm suspecting that some of @Robusto's inspiration for the idea came from that game. After all, he seems to know Sully well enough.
That's about it. I'm just really eager to talk this morning. XD

I was going to make my post longer, but that just seemed like a really cute place to stop.
Anyways, Char, the plan is to send our characters (plus Shaymin and Fleur) to the Shrine of Safety while Gabriel does whatever he's up to. How you want to go about that is up to you.

Char, I think it would be preferable if you portrayed Latios as hasty and impatient to leave with everyone. (Also, Cassandra will play along if need be.) The rest, as Buggie adequately stated, is up to you.

@Tortwag the storyline? Sure adding N and Ghetisis and all the other characters impact the story, but only just. I can barely remember who Ghetisis is. I only know that I had to fight him and he had an annoyingly long speech that prevented me from beating him for a whole five minutes. Besides, the game gives no reasons why I should care about Ghetisis or N. If pokemon wanted to put time and effort into their characters, perhaps find a way to relate them to the audience then maybe it would be more interesting but the fact that these new guys are just shoved into the game with a backstory that the I cant even relate to just makes them more enemies to beat. N's Ideals? To be honest, I skipped through all his speeches. Probably not the best thing to admit but I could not bring myself to listen to him. Sure he probably has some really good points that I missed but with nothing to relate to, he just becomes another enemy, even If I had read his speech I would have fought him without the slightest hesitation because I just cant find anything to sympathize in. Finally, the biggest point I have here is this,
Its Pokémon. Yes I know there are a lot of fans out there that are interested in the backstories and the origins but I was raised on this stuff back when pokemon had made a name for itself as a simple enjoyable game were you fight baddies and level up, not some convoluted philosophical character drama. And despite the obvious appeals of the new games I, and a lot of other people still stick to that core essence of the game, the fun of just watching something grow.
Oh and interesting new pokemon? I'll give you that but I just want you to remember this name,
Klefki.
Yes, this is the pokemon version of A RING OF KEYS XDXDXDXD

.....how about just....like....play the game? I mean, its a game, it doesn't have to have any value in it at all it just has o be fun. I think the game freak and Nintendo just focused on making cool new pokemon and battle modes rather than worry about the backstory of a lot of sprites with green hair and cheesy comeback lines.
p.s: xD yes! Te klefki. Who needs a rea lkey when you can just stick a live animal into your locks! Its perfect! Call 1-800-epic-failure to get your free klefki right now, I repeat, 1-800-epic-failure to get a fast, simple, live key!
