Here
My Soul connects with Nature.
It surrounds me
Wraps itself around me
Like a lightweight cloak
Made of Birdcalls, Air, Clouds,
And Leaves.
Covered in dainty yet tough
Grass,
Twigs and Butterflies,
Moths, Magpies, and life and
Stillness, and cool.
On this bench,
My bicycle to the side,
I can let myself breathe.
No humans around, yet not alone.
Life and Breath surrounds me
Be it in Plants, Birds, Bugs,
Or my Self.
Here
I can be myself-
I can be free.

I actually wrote this poem right before I wrote Biking Past the River, on Hills on the evening of July 4th, when I was going for a quick bike ride on the nearby bike trails.
This is a poem about how connected I feel to Nature and the Earth when I bike at the parkway, an area close to my house that goes parallel to a river for a while and has restoration nature areas, as well as areas reserved for naturally growing plants and animals.
I hope you like it and that it relates to your life in some way.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is stop and breathe and you'll end up noticing things you never knew were there before.
Greetings Poet!

Beyond my beloved horizon, I'm setting sail into uncharted pages with an itch for adventure. Through binoculars, I spy with my little eye an interesting poem titled “Park Bench by Brush Then River” that deserves a good review. So without further ado, let’s begin.
Very first of all, I must say that you've written a lovely poem here. It is amazing how someone can create an entire tale told through a poem by just a simple moment which was there, but now gone. Nature seems like an endless source of inspiration and creativity.
In your poem you describe a brief moment, a moment which can be described by a thousand words and still not be enough, a moment of freedom, a moment of peace. You skillfully portrayed that moment, using all the elements of nature.
I have some suggestions for you, if you would like to boost the impact of your poem you could consider using more imagery. Furthermore, you could consider letting the poem rhyme, it's always nice to say a poem out loud and hear it rhyme.
Everything in all and all in everything, your poem has some true potential, and with a few improvements it can boost the impact of the poem.
Keep on doing what you do!
That's it, that's all.
Hoping the review has been of value to you!
With writer’s love,
Rose

Top Graham Cracker - What I Know
Poetry is an art. Your formatting is an art. Starting with one word and moving into more full statements... gorgeous! *i may possibly do this in lots of my own poems and thats why i love it so much*. I can tell that nature is special to you. To me, this poem is about being consumed by love in a place that you love. It is about connection, peace, family, and belonging.
Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - Room for Improvements
I wonder, what is your use of capitalization on lots of the words? It looks beautiful, but I wonder if its symbolic of a name or a title, or if there is another meaning behind it. Either way, I just thought I would point that out
It just confused me, for example, how some of the words are capitalized while others are not:
"Moths, Magpies, and life and"
Chocolate Bar - Highlights of the Piece
This piece is visually stunning. I love the symbolism I can see, even in the formatting. Starting with one word, then getting bigger and bigger, going up and down. Reminds me of the stillness of a cool breeze, or the waves, or birth and death, and the continuity of nature. Life works in patterns, ups and downs, but still there is beauty in all of it.
Closing Graham Cracker - Closing Thoughts
Thanks for being here on YWS! Your poetry is beautiful! I cant wait to read even more
Sincerely,
Ellie
Thanks for reviewing my poem! The use of capitalization is that I was turning some things into proper nouns to show the things I noticed most in the moment I wrote this poem. Some are capitalized to draw more attention to the fact that they were there, they exist, and they are important.
I love that!!! Thanks for letting me know. That is really beautiful
