And here are all the things that remind me of you.
White Jeeps slowly driving by.
The smell of snickerdoodles.
Highlighters and bright hoodies.
Sunrises and the beach.
That one lovely song that you promised me you would sing one day.
My favorite scrunchie and the color blue.
How ridiculous it is, that you had such a big effect on my life.
But now you're gone.

This poem is short and easy to understand and I love it. When I think about poems I think about a long text with complicated words and multiple interpretations but this was short and simple so I thought it was very refreshing to read. I like how in the beginning you use colors like white, highlighters and bright. Colors that we usually associate with happiness and positive things. Sunrise and beach gives a romantic feeling. But at the end we get the color blue which can be associated with tears and sadness. It's a short and simple poem yet it describes feeling heartbroken really well. And also the ending is open, we don't know whether the other person died or if they just broke up, and I think the open ending makes it so that more people can relate to this poem.
That's what I was going for, I'm glad you caught that! Thanks for the sweet review <3
This poem is very straightforward, which is not a bad thing. It makes it a bit easier for the reader to understand what is going on. This is a person who is dealing with heartbreak. We are not entirely sure whether the love interest has died or if it was a breakup(I think the message that you were trying to portray was that they died) but what we do know is that the person clearly feels heartbreak. Whenever something traumatic happens, like the loss of a loved one in this case, everything seems to serve as a reminder of them. I like how you mentioned the beach, bright hoodies, highlighters, and even just the color blue. It really does portray how heartbroken and lonely this person feels. Great poem.
Thank you so much for this kind review
We often have these kind of people in our lives. The people who mean so much to us,the people who then get taken away from us and leave behind marks. This poem was nice to read.Do you actually miss the person? Or is it better this way? Maybe it is both, who will know? I hope that you have a lovely day/night.
Thank you for your wonderful insight and comment!
