*****Probably none of this makes sense. Sorry if you feel in the end like you wasted your time reading this******
I want to fall in love
With a writer,
With an author of love and romance.
---
He may paint the pictures
Of anything he likes
Anything I like
Through his words.
---
And I'll be safe
Guarded by his words
I'll be secured
Surrounded all over
With the scent of his thoughts
Lingering around me forever.
---
He may personify
My dreams or his dreams,
Whichever he may prefer,
Through the words carved by him on paper.
---
I want to fall in love
With a writer,
With someone who'll be true
With whatever he writes.
---
And I'll be safe
Guarded by his words
I'll be secured
Surrounded all over
With the scent of his thoughts
Lingering around me forever.
---
He may sit there
In his armchair
Smoking or staring at the ceiling
Preparing another of his wild stories.
---
And I'll be safe
Guarded by his words
I'll be secured
Surrounded all over
With the scent of his thoughts
Lingering around me forever.

I think this as a beautiful poem, worthy of its name. The repetition in your lines:
"And I'll be safe
Guarded by his words
I'll be secured
Surrounded all over
With the scent of his thoughts
Lingering around me forever."
Were playing my heart strings as fluently as a guitarist, and I agree with you on the sentiment, could you imagine two writers in one room just randomly staring out of the window dreaming about what to write next? A priceless picture, an d I saw it painted here fluidly. Certainly well done. I would have liked to see it longer, actually, but short and sweet is a cherished talent amongst us masters of words.
Keep writing!
Woah! That's one of the most beautiful comments, "Were playing my heart strings as fluently as a guitarist", honestly, I'm honoured ! Thank you. Thank you so much!
Hello, there!
I keep re-reading this, trying to find something wrong with it to review.
I've come to the conclusion that there isn't anything to fix! This is a really great piece that you've obviously put a lot of thought into.
I especially love this stanza here:
I think your poem is extremely well written, and the meaning you've given it is great. After reading this, now I want to fall in love with a writer!
Great job, really. I would love to read more of your poetry.
Thanks, you're a darling!
^_^
W-O-W.
Honestly, just wow. This is a really beautiful piece of poetry, actually I probably shouldn't call it piece, is much greater than that. I'm new here but I can truly say, I think you probably just read my heart with that poem.
The imagery and a sense of passion and love clearly shows through in this poem.
W-O-W
Dear Laure,
Thank you so much. I'm humbled ^_^
And yes, WELCOME TO YWS !!
I'm totally stolen for words at how amazing this piece is!!! And it's exactly what I'd like too!! Haha ^^ There isn't anything wrong here that I can nitpick at. All I ca say is that it's very deserving of its place in the literary spotlight!! So congratulations there!!
You've done an amazing job! Keep up the amazing writing!!
I want to say something that will make you smile when you read this, as so many others have done whilst reviewing my work, but I'm totally gobsmacked!! What I can say, though, is take away that comment about this piece of work being a waste of our reading!! It is anything but! I love this poem, and I'm not really a big fan of poetry either, so well done here!!
Have I made you smile? I hope so
Basil
Yes you did, you just made me smile. Thanks very much.

Yaaay!! You're welcome ^^
Wow. What a wonderful work! The imagery you have presented is beautiful. I especially love the line "Guarded by his words". Even across the internet, from wherever you may have written this, it somehow comforts me. Words are indeed powerful. Ah, to have the protection of a wizard of words, who can spin spells of great beauty, passion, and kindness! I wish I could give you a critique, but I am afraid that your work is too perfect. Everything flows, though I may complain that it flows too well, as your words are so wonderful that I want to sit and savor them, yet I am compelled to continue on! Is there a way to favorite an author on this site? If so, I am afraid I must find it.
I wrote it on my own, and not from anywhere else.
Thanks by the way !
I was too overwhelmed after reading some of the works, I always do whenever I read something good.
To me it's like they, the poets and the writers, belong to some other world, a world that's above all the prejudices and hate . It's a place of peace, and affection.
And I would endear to be a part of it, and maybe loving a writer and becoming a part of his world would bring that all, all the love to suffice my heart.

I must say this was a marvelous poem and lyrical is an understatement it made me feel the need to ask if you're actually a singer. If so you should totally record this it's fantastic. I also really like the point it makes denoting the significance a writer has to their partner. Also I like the significance it places on words it painted a picture itself of an ink stained young man and the girl that loves him. I know that seems archaic in this day and age but, it still seems rather romantic.
Well, I do sing. I don't know how you guessed it so right
Thank you !
I'll be a writer you can fall in love with ^-^
Just saying, and I'm also saying that this piece was brilliantly well written and I absolutely loved it. ^-^

*wink* hehe
Oh my, I absolutely love this. I really do, Honestly, I couldn't find anything wrong with it. It flowed well, and it sounded amazing out loud.
My favorite stanza by far was:
"He may personify
My dreams or his dreams,
Whichever he may prefer,
Through the words carved by him on paper."
And this one too:
"I want to fall in love
With a writer,
With someone who'll be true
With whatever he writes."
This is just amazing. And yes, I'd love to fall in love with a writer too.
Another thing, I really liked how I could imagine the things you described in this. Your imagery is great, it added so much more to this already great poem. Thanks for sharing this, I'm definitely glad I read it.

I actually enjoyed this, because I feel the same way! It is beautiful how you wrote this. I would like to repeat this specific section:
He may paint the pictures
Of anything he likes
Anything I like
Through his words.
And I'll be safe
Guarded by his words
I'll be secured
Surrounded all over
With the scent of his thoughts
Lingering around me forever.
I love this. I love the way you talked about how the words would secure and guard you. I actually enjoyed this very much and hope see more.
Thanks pal
I'd like to start with the repeated stanza:

And I'll be safe
Guarded by his words
I'll be secured
Surrounded all over
With the scent of his thoughts
Lingering around me forever.
I think that was a great idea. Really strung the whole poem together. Overall, there is no change I'd like make. I think the rhyme and meter is quite perfect on its own. Great job!
I'm charmed ^_^
I really like this. It's perfect. Is it supposed to be a song? Anyways, I could see the author as he sits in his chair and smoking, or staring up as he thinks. You created a beautiful image, and I commend you for that.
There were no grammatical errors that I noticed, however, it seemed choppy. Maybe you should re-arrange a few lines, or add a few in to improve the flow of the stanzas, or the different paragraph, or whatever. It's words are put together well, to create the perfect image.
You appealed to the readers emotions- or rather, mine- because of the fact that you put your emotions into it. Your own personal feelings.
This makes me really happy, because I too, want to fall in love with a writer now. I want to watch as he writes crazy stories about us, about me, about him. I want to feel comforted as I read his stories. I want that.
Lastly, I noticed that you separated each stanza by the dashes. That's a really good idea, but it takes the attention away from the beauty of the words. I know that the formatting won't really help much, but maybe you could try something else?
The dash-things are great, and it's a cool idea to put something there to let the reader know "Hey, this is another stanza completely," but, and this is just my opinion, they really distracted me, and I had to read the last sentence of the stanza before to remember what it said, because the dashes greatly confused me. Maybe try something to appeal to your readers more?
Just a helpful suggestion!
Good job, and keep writing!
I agree, so I just deleted those dashes.
Well I don't know if it's effective or not but yeah I couldn't work around the words very well.
But thanks anyways !
Yeah, maybe you can try an indent for each stanza, just to see how you like it!
And you're welcome ^^
that was a good one m
thank you suigeneris
