Flash back. Boomer running back on the breaking bridge. The bridge falling, grabbing on to an edge. Climbing down in a tunnel down, transparent tentacle attack someone, running through a door thousands of beasts. Sleeping.

Sergeant Mullins was in the middle of thousands of beasts. Most were sleeping but somewhere awake and attacking Mullins. One lunged at his left side. He uses the butt of his rifle to break his neck. Mullins nears the end of the sleeping beasts, more slash out at him. He makes a dive and brakes free of the pack and sprints out the door.

All Mullins could see was darkness, so dark he couldn’t even see his own hand in front of him.

“damn those freaks broke my light on my suit. I need a cigarette.” Mullins lights a Cigarette and takes a deep in hail. He puffs out some smoke and looks toward an exit. “There, there’s one” He drops the cigarette and moves towards the door he spotted. He found himself inside of a tunnel. He starts with a light jog.

Mullins hears some scattering behind him and turns around. Nothing.

“mmmm I could have sworn I saw something.” Mullins turns around and continues on. He held his steady jog and still looking over his shoulder and trips over a tiny set of stairs in front of him. He picks himself up and starts walking forward more warily. He comes across a door and turns left.

“wow” Mullins thought to himself “This is an interesting room…” Mullins had come across a large room. The room was completely flat until exactly in the middle there was an eighty feet wide gorge. Except there was no water it was a complete drop off. There was two parallel bridges that led to two sets of stairs. The stairs started at the same point and one set climbed up to the right while the other to the left. At the tip of each point it curls around and meets again at the top with an enormous door leading to light. The staircase made a diamond like shape.

“god I hope this thing leads to the way out of this place.” Mullins took a step forward and a pebble fell in front of him. “What the..?” Mullins looked up and saw several beasts climbing on the top of the ceiling. “Shit FREAKS!” Mullins took aim and opened fired on the beasts on the ceiling. One fell to the ground dead while the other two jumped down and attack Mullins from each side.

Mullins turned and fired at the beast too his left and punched the one lunging at his right so hard that it killed it upon impact. He looked up on the ceiling and this time saw that there was hundreds maybe even thousands crawling around. Mullins made a brake for a bridge while some followed behind him other beasts went on the parallel bridge.

A beast from the Parallel bridge made a sixty feet jump and tackled Mullins. Mullins kicked him off of himself and the beast fell down the pit. Mullins grabbed his gun and fired at the ones behind him. He could almost see his bullets going in slow motion as the erupted from his gun. They hit the beasts stomach’s head and arms until all those that were following him dropped dead, staining the bridge with blood.

Mullins reloaded and fired at the opposite bridge. He ran out of ammo and reloaded again. He noticed that the beast had climbed over to the stairs and were now trying to block the door. Mullins knew he had to act fast so he ran forward and sprinted up the stairs.

A beast tackled him and pinned him to the ground. Mullins grabbed his knife and put it between the beast’s ribs, now they where everywhere, all around him. Mullins pulled his knife out of the beast and swung blindly, stabbing beasts in the head. Slicing it through their stomachs and into the chests. Every time he hit something blood sprayed all over his face. He did a dive role and emerged into the light, he ran forward looking back over his shoulder, but if he had bothered to look forward he would have noticed that he was about to run off a cliff.

The beasts chased after him and Mullins fell off the cliff. Every single one of the beast followed him off the cliff, falling. Mullins let out a scream and he grabbed on to a side of the castle. His hands were sliding and he couldn’t quite get a hold.

“come on come on” Mullins hands caught something. A small niche in the castle. He heaved himself up and sat in the niche catching his breath. Outside the beast were raining down and falling to their dooms. Black out.

Mullins woke up to find that he was still in the niche he found.

“Am I still breathing?.. ‘course I am. Jesus I think my teeth are stained with blood. Uhh. Come on, get up” Mullins sat up and looked at his hands and groaned. They were coverd with blood. “damnit, its deep cuts. God those rocks are sharps.” Mullins took out some tape and wrapped his hands so he could stop the blood. “look around” Mullins stuck his head out and saw no bottom down. “aim for the top I’ve heard”

Mullins jumped out of the niche and grabbed onto the edge and started climbing

“Its all his fault. Why didn’t we leave when the doctor gave us a change, that ass knew it was coming. If I had known he was going to put me through this shit I would put a bullet through his head first chance. No joke” Mullins continued up the edge until he reached another niche that was similar to what Mullins started in.

“I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that. This was definitely not in my job description. But why go through this does any one know?” Mullins climbed into the niche and caught his breath. “Saving earth my ass” Mullins looked around and noticed a tunnel leading from the niche to somewhere. “All I know is that I ain’t giving up. Never.”

Mullins emerged out of the tunnel and saw what the tentacles did to a lone soldier. His head and arm was cut off.

“Jeez” Mullins saw the dead soldiers gun and grabbed it. He walked forward into the same tunnel that the General and the other soldiers were in. “I need a cigarette”

Mullins started to walk forward when something hit him, except it was like it was hitting his mind and not physically. Than he heard a weird voice in his head.

“YOU MAY CALL ME A PARASITE HUMAN. TRAVELING WORLDS. CONSUMING LIFE AT ITS PRIME!”

Mullins started to breath very heavily. “What?”

I NEED YOU. AND YOU NEED ME!”

“Get outta my head!” Mullins started to run holding his head. His head felt like it was going to explode. “GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!” Mullins started yelling.

TAKE ME TO YOUR WORLD HUMAN! I NEED YOU!!! YOU NEED ME!!!”

“BANG!” a single shot fired out and struck Mullins. Mullins fell to the ground.

The man who shot him stood where he was and droped the pistol. Than he ran to Mullins side.

"Mullins!? mullins. I shot you... I shot you..." Mullins started to cough.

"Friendly fire! Friendly fire!"

"MULLINS!!"

"Yeah yeah I'm fine I'm fine. you only hit me in the shoulder."

"Jeezus Mullins you look like... like.."

"Yeah I know. I've been through worse. Got a light?"

"Like hell.. Blood.. Blood everywhere. What the hell happened to you!?"

"Freaks, hundreds of them. And you shot me!"

"Sorry sorry sorry about that sarge. I thought you were something chasing me!"

Ray helped Mullins up and threw Mullins shoulder over his own. The two started walking down the hallway.

"On the bridge, before it went down... the general mentioned..."Ray said

"That piece of..."

"A court yard, with helicopters"

"Whatever"

"Were you alone? Was there anyone with you?"

"Yeah, Boomer, Robers, and two other guys. Most of us made the fall but i got sperated."

"Boomer... god. I hope they make it"

Flash back. Loyid separated by the crack, running through the hole. Running on a breaking bridge falling and grabbing onto a ledge, climbing down.

Mullins smoked a cigarette. In a tunnel at the very bottom of the castle, so far down it couldn’t even be seen from above. Boomer stood alone leaning against a wall while three other soldiers sat down and leaned up against the wall. The tunnel was a small path about thirty feet wide. Perfect brick walls stood hundreds maybe even thousands of feet high.

“We’ll end up on the outer wall... sometime... sooner or latter” Said a soldier.

“And than what I suppose we climb down from there” Replied another.

Boomer walked up behind Mullins.

“Did you hear something?” Boomer said

“Nah… just my empty stomach” Mullins replied.

“Robert, with all do respect. You’re just being a moron right now” a soldier said to another soldier named Robert.

“Yeah well I don’t want to wait around until I get my ass ripped into by some freak” Said Robert. Boomer started walking over and grabbed Robert by the collar and heaved him up to his feet.

“All right come on. Lets move” Boomer lead the way down the hall way.

“You don’t always have to be so brutal you know” Robert said to Boomer.

“Heh. Okay you want a hug” Boomer said.

“No thanks. I don’t want to break my neck” One soldier said.

The four started walking and they passed the only non perfect part in the wall. A large hole was in the brick wall. Boomer peeked his head in.

“Boomer?” Roberts said. Boomer turned his head and made a quick nod.

“Christ Boomer you scared the crap out of…” and that was the last thing he said because an invisible tentacle fired out of the hole and speared the soldier in the stomach and shoved him up against the wall. Blood poured out of his stomach and onto the wall and pooled on the floor. The soldier reached his hand out towards Boomer and the others as he was chocking on his last breaths. The tentacle still buried its self further into the soldier’s stomach.

“RUUN!!” Boomer yelled as he turned on his heels and ran blindly down the hall way with Roberts and Mullins close behind him. The tentacle started throwing its arm around and smashing into the walls.

“Oh god I hope this leads too a door!” Roberts yelled. The trio ran down the hall for what seemed miles until the saw a small door at the end of the hallway. They pushed hard to run faster. They finally emerged into an enormous room. The room was a giant cylinder about two hundred yards across, and bordering the inside edges of the cylinder was a large ramp spiraling around the entire building with a very small incline.

“COME ON LETS MOVE MOVE MOVE!!” Boomer yelled. They trio moved up the ramp and looked Boomer looked behind his shoulder to see that the tactical had erupted out of the door and now was following them up the ramp.

While running Robert tripped and was about to fall off the ledge, however Boomer caught him in mid fall and threw him a good 10 feet in front of him simultaneously running for his life.

“What drugs are you on Boomer!!” Yelled Mullins.

“Come on get up soldier NOW!” Boomer said as he ran past Robert. Suddenly a beast jumped up in front of Boomer. Boomer took his shotgun and blew its head clean off point blank. A shell fell to the ground, another beast jumped up and Boomer took its head and shoved it so hard into the wall that its head imbedded into the wall and shattered the creatures face.

Mullins had run ahead but now he was sprinting back. The tentacle that was coming very close to knocking his head off was chasing Robert, Robert reached Boomer who through a grenade at the tentacle that blew it in half. It crumbled to the ground.

“Gah do something about those freaks!” Yelled Mullins as he was running back from being chased by hundreds of creatures running down the ramp. Boomer looked around and saw a small crack by the wall. He took two grenades and threw them in the cracks. He shoved Robert and Mullins to the ground as the grenades blew up taking most of the wall with them.

“Yeah it was great knowing you guys” Mullins and Boomer turned on the army of beasts moving to kill them and held them off by constantly firing into the group. Robert Moved to the wall and used the butt of his rifle to try to punch a bigger hole in the wall.

“Hey guys there’s a tunnel over here. Get moving!” Shouted Robert when he made a small hole big enough for one person at a time. “I’ll cover you!!” Boomer and Mullins started going through the hole while Robert held off the beasts that were becoming dangerously close.

“COME ON ROBERT LETS GO!!” Boomer Yelled. Robert started to squeeze himself through when something grabbed his leg.

“BOOMER MULLINS!! ITS GOT ME!!” Robert screamed and reached his hand out. Boomer and Mullins grabbed his hand and heaved as hard as they can.

“COME ON PULL PULL!!” Robert flew out with Boomer and Mullins as they sat down to rest. When they lifted their heads each noticed that they were in a room with no carvings just flat marble floor. But also that there were thousands of beast in their all standing but not moving. Each and every one of them were bent in an odd position, like something had just severely broke a bone. Heads were bent unusually directions arms bent backwards and unnaturally.

“Guys… I think I see an exit” said Robert as he pointed towards a door at the end of the sleeping beast’s pack.

“Come on. I think there asleep” Boomer whispered. The three made there through the pack until the heard a gunshot.

“What the…” Boomer whispered. Than a weird voice started talking. It was talking in a forgin language.

“DUO AHE TAKI TAKI YAEL OPL DEA NOSUKI QUS WOL YTL VE LE SANCE I.” the voice echoed in the room. Than the creatures started to animate. There bones snapped back into place slowly and loudly.

“MOVE” Boomer threw his shotgun on his back and sprinted towards the door. Roberts followed. The two made it too the door without any beasts having time to attack them.

“Mullins? Mullins!!” Boomer yelled. Where was he…?

Boomer And Roberts continued and wandered aimlessly looking for some way out. Boomer Starts to Pondered on his thoughts. “The world is a gaping hole. Too many men were lost in the depths of this place for me to remember. It took me a little while for me to realize that I was one of them, One on the list of casualties’ swolled up in the dark. Funny how u start to walk on the safe side pulling people from harms way. And you kinda think of yourself of a hero. But there’s no hiding from the darkness, well, not this darkness. Hours have past since I have first step through those gates. Yet the feeling of eyes is still on me. Walls start to bend above my head, I can hear the whispers. In fact I can’t seem to hear anything else. I welcome the sound. And hope soon I can brake the bones of those demons, Such fragile creatures. Oh they break so easily.

Questions crowd my thoughts. What am I really doing here? Where am I? What is this place. Did anyone else make it? Is there any real hope? What difference does hope make. We… Die here…… I miss my old team. I miss everything outside of this darkness but them in particular. Surely they have some answers to this riddle this maze of questions. I can’t help thinking I won’t see them again. Something was wrong earlier. The gun shot. The Hate in Beecher’s eyes. Etrius… The General. No. He wouldn’t! I refuse to believe it. He just wouldn’t.

“Loyid and Etrius are still sealed away in that room. I doubt I’ll see them again. I doubt I’ll see anything again”

Boomer and Roberts had now wandered for countless hours with no avail. They Had narrowly avoided being detected by patrolling bat beasts and mutated beasts on multiple occasions. They now were looking off a narrow staircase in the open air, or the closest thing to it. They were still in a barren wasteland and dust was everywhere. The stench of rotting bodies and blood filled the air. It hung everywhere and was inescapable. Roberts took a deep breath.

“Which way now Boomer? Up or down?” There were two stair cases both only big enough for one person and contained no railings.

“Don’t Know. Let see.” Boomer started to turn but froze. Something scolding hot was approaching him. His back started to burn. It felt like it was on fire. Roberts gave a sharp and loud yelp as he jumped forward and turned around.

“OH MY GOD!!” Roberts yelled as he saw some kind of black mist prowling forward. It Charcoal filled the air and it was so potent that Boomer nearly doubled over.

“COME ON LETS MOVE!!!!” Boomer yelled as he gave Roberts a quick push down the stairs.

“I Felt like Something was crawling under my skin. Some freaky voice started talking in my head” Mullins said still leaning heavily on Ray. Ray and Mullins started to emerge into the courtyard.

“Your not alone in that. I though I saw…..” Ray paused for a couple seconds. “Do you think we’ll ever get out of here?” Mullins opened his mouth to answer and looked up.

“Is that….?” Ray Followed Mullins eyes, which had gone wide with, hope. Ray saw a lone helicopter on the ground.

“HEY!!! HEY!!! IS ANYONE THERE??!?!” Ray started to yell.

“Hello??! Anyone alive??!?!” Mullins said.

Plisskins in the Helicopter picked up his head from the wires that he was trying to fix in order to take off. When he started to hear some voices. “Survivors??” Plisskin was on is feet in seconds and ran out to meet Ray and Mullins. They all embraced and laughed giddily filled with hope. They walked back into the copter and Mullins took a seat down while Ray took the “1st Aid” kit out and started to bandage Mullins Wounds.

“Soooo… Does this thing still work?” Mullins said to break the Silence.

“Yes I’m pretty sure. I think there’s something wrong with the wiring.” Plisskins replied.

“Jesus what happened here?!” Ray said when he sighted the main room of the copter; it looked like a slaughterhouse.

“They attacked. Jason didn’t make it. No way I’m leaving him though”

“I’m sorry.”

Boomer and Roberts emerged in the court yard Running for their lives from their un-killable mist. A single Beast jumped down in front of Boomer and let out a scream so loud that Boomer could feel his ear drums burst. Roberts Feel to his knees holding his ears and Boomer Shot the creatures point blank in the chest. Its voice died, slowly fading out. Boomer turned to Roberts and Screamed “GET MOVING!!!!!!!!!!”

Roberts scrambled too his feet and started to run. Boomer looked up and said “A chopper!” Roberts took out his pistol and fired two shots back at the mist that did absolutely nothing.

“Did you hear that?!” Mullins said from the ear-shattering squeal they heard.

“Gun shots?” Ray said. He peeked out of the copter and saw Boomer and Ray. “THEY MADE IT! THEY MADE IT!” he said enthusiastically. He started to run forward and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw what was perusing them. A giant cloud. A wall between the courtyard and the Castle exploded and hundreds of beasts exploded out. The air was than filled with bat creatures in the skies. Boomer emerged in the copter.

“Pilot! What ever you’re doing. DO IT FASTER!! Mullins, great to have you back. Ray and Mullins guard the copter!” The pilot nodded his head bent over and worked like his life depended on it. Mullins and Ray stood in front of the helicopter door and unloaded every single bullet they had. Boomer took the last of his grenades and hurled them into the open. Roberts held off the bats in the air.

“Get in!!” Plisskin yelled at the people defending his life. The helicopter’s blades started turning and it slowly started to lift off. Boomer, Roberts, Ray, and Mullins still fired at the army of bats pestering them.

“PILOT! MAKE A SHARP TURN LEFT!” The Pilot did what Boomer told him as they turned a sharp corner around a tower. “FIRE!” Boomer yelled as a clear shot opened up for the armed troop inside. The army of bat beasts fell and crashed to the ground. Dozens still followed however, and they were gaining. The pilot recognized that this would be the finial stretch. He pushed the Helicopter to as fast as it could go.

“come on… come on….” Plisskins muttered as the yards to freedom started to drop. Five hundred yards… Four hundred yards… Two hundred yards… One hundred…. Sixty… fourty…. Twenty… ten…. FREDOM!!!! They emerged out from hell. Freedom at last, freedom from the worst thing in life. Little did they know that something even worse was quickly approaching.
