Romantic Really Means...

In Poetry

What does it mean to be romantic?

No, it's not the physical attraction that draws two people together

and encourages them to like one another

Being romantic really means

to put the other's needs before your own

to take care for the other in sickness

and in health

To stay by the other's side

no matter the consequence

the looks you receive

or the things you may lose

To be one

yet two

different people

with the same strive

to always succeed

To go hand in hand

and heart in heart

no matter which way the wind blows

Being romantic really means

to love

and be loved

to care

and to give

to open up

and speak your mind

until the end of time

Excellent work! I really found nothing wrong with this piece so great job! I love your approach to the whole what romance and love is thing. You hit it out of the ballpark! Especially since all your points were spot-on. You have really given a perfect picture idea of what it truly means to love and be loved, and I congratulate you for that. Keep up the good work!

Hey its Katie here to review your work!
So to start with, way to draw me in with the title! That's almost always an important part of any piece.
Some comments complained about sentences running in to each other, here I do agree BUT it doesn't sound bad. The way you made the lines made it flow fine while I was reading. I think you made a good choice by writing this. Because sometimes as writers we think of something and just aren't sure what others will think about it. I do think you could have put a period at the end. So bravo and keep writing!

Hello there! I believe this is the TRUE definition of romance. I really like this. Unknown391625 here with another review.

Here is the cold, harsh truth. I LOVE IT! It doesn't rhyme, but it's still great. The only problem I have in this is that the only punctuation that you have is on the very first line. And then you continued the whole poem without no punctuation. Honestly, you could have put a period at the last line. Otherwise, really good job! I enjoy it greatly. It makes you want to think about romance. It asks you the big question, "What is romance?" That is definitely why I loved it. Good job! I would love to see more of your poems. Don't give up and always write, crissymarx!

Cute!

So, all I want to point out here is that I honestly can't tell where the sentences begin and end. You don't use any periods, so I have to rely on the somewhat random-looking capitalizations to assume where the sentences are.

The capitalizations sort of look out of place, like you have sentences that start, but then don't end and slam right into the next one instead If you wrote regular reviews with that style it would look something like this Looks weird doesn't it?

It also sounds a little clichéd, especially since a few of the lines are copied directly from marriage vows, but that's to be expected from romantic poems so I won't complain about it.

Thank you!

I'm also not sure why but even though I normally wear cool tones I have a feeling red would have been my color in the 1860s.
