Laughter Is The Best Medicine

"Laughter is the best medicine"

I hear people say.

From old 90's television, commercials on my computer, and even in my video games.

Funny how that saying still lingers to this day.

Yet it's true though, the best medicine is laughter.

When you laugh you can forget all your troubles,

A laugh that's loud as a hyena's or even as strange as the Devil can fit.

Which can also be hard to control.

When you laugh you'll forget how long time has passed, it just happens.

When you laugh it spreads from person to person;how contagious can a human action be?

Your laugh can be as high as the sky,

Or maybe even as low as the darkest corner of the ocean flows,

It doesn't matter.

Because laughter is the best medicine, since ever.

When you laugh your muscles clench to form a smile, something a human wants for a long while

When you laugh your heart jumps, and your stomach starts hurting real bad, doesn't it?

When you laugh you can feel your friends all around you laughing too, and it just makes you feel real swell.

Knowing that even though not everything may not going be well, we can all laugh to make that feeling dispel.

hey, this is Kman134, here to review your work.

This is pretty good and i love the laughter concept you used. I agree with you, the best medicine is laughter. I can se how infectious laughter can be, as well, how, sometimes, when you laugh, the person sitting next to you will laugh out loud, also. No matter what people say, sometimes it is good to laugh, so that you can make other people feel good, which is what Robin Williams taught us in "Patch Adams".

Anyways, this is a good poem and wish to read more.

Hey ther kman134!
Ah thank you so much for stopping by and thank you for the support for my poem! I'm happy and quite surprised that this could affect somebody. I am glad that you enjoyed reading my poem, and I will check out Robin Williams later for that!
Thank you for the support <3 !

Hey I'm Caitie.
I love this poem. Like you said in the poem, laughter is the best medicine. My favorite line is, "when you laugh you can forget all your troubles." In all this poem was very well written, I didn't see and mistakes if there were any at all. This poem leaves a smile on my face and I love the way you describe how laughter is contagious and how much it helps.Again I love this poem.

Hey there Caitie!!
Thank you so much for the love and support for this poem, it really means a lot to me!
I'm so glad to hear such influence from one of my poems to pass on to other readers, it makes me cry (from joy) to hear that! I'm also astonished that I managed to pull off emotions and tone so well through the poem!
Again, thank you so much for your love and support, I appreciate it very much!

First, great topic choice-- laughter is something everyone can relate to. The flow itself is a little awkward. In line 7 I would change "strange as the Devil" to "strange as the Devil's" as it helps with the understanding of the line. I also agree with the ineffectiveness of the rhetorical questions. Great poem!! Keep writing!!!

Hello there! And yes I agree that laughter is a great topic to speak about. Ah yes the flow and the question, those are some very good critiques. I'll consider the advice for them, thank you very much for offering tips! And I will keep on writing, thank you for stopping by and reviewing! <3

I like this poem! There are so many emotions that a poet can show through their writing and I think the best poems show happiness.

First, I didn't feel like the poem flowed well. It was kind hard to real because of that.

Second, rhetorical questions in poems don't sound good. So make it definite. Make it " Yes, of course your stomach starts hurting." (don't put those actual words just project that idea :P)

I don't know if I like all the semi colons because I like it when people use them, or if I just want them to be their own line, you know? So maybe think about that.

Good job on your poem!

Tell me when you write another one! I'd love to read it!

Hello hello, and thank you for the nice review! : ^ D
I get your point! Now looking back, the poem flowed a little bit strange. I'll improve on that though, don't worry! And thank you about the advice about rhetorical questions, I'll try to project some more emotion through literature without obvious sayings next time!
Thank you for your lovely compliments, and I'll try to write some more poems in the meantime! (Maybe even upload some short stories o u o )

Noelle, you can lead a writer to their computer and give them coffee, but you can't make them write.
