Courtney Taylor

Courtney was setting in the passenger seat of her best friends little red Volkswagen when she received the text from her Boy friend, stating that he wouldn’t be able to make it to the party, that Cassie her friend was hosting. Travis her boyfriend was starting to make excuses for every occasion, but Courtney stayed with him anyway, mostly because if she wasn’t every other guy in the school would ask her out. But that didn’t make her feel any better about him ditching her, especially since she had to lie to her parents in order to be at the party, she hated lying to her parents, and she hated party’s even more. There were to many drunk guys doing there best to get laid, and drunk girls who were willing to oblige them.

“Are you ready?” Cassie asked turning the ignition off and stepping out of her open door.

“Yeah.” Courtney replied glancing at all of the cars that littered the front yard of Cassie’s large house.

“Your mom doesn’t mind you throwing parties like this?” Courtney asked, the noise from the party growing louder as she approached the big oak front door.

“What are you talking about she’s the one who suggested it, she said it was part of the high school experience.” Cassie said strolling into the front door of her home.

“Oh.” Courtney replied in a shout as the noise of the crowed engulfed them both. Courtney has known Cassie for about a year, She is a gorgeous redhead with green eyes and a slender frame, a swollen chest that made most guys forget about the bagginess that was caused by the lack of an ass. Cassie also had the reputation of exaggerating to a point where it resembled a lie. Which made Courtney doubt her story about who wanted the party.

“Do you want a beer, or a shot?” Cassie asked motioning towards the bar in the corner of the well lit room.

“No, I’m ok.” Courtney replied, she wouldn’t admit it but she hated drinking and anything else that impaired her judgment.

“Ok.” Cassie shouted disappearing into the crowd of already drunk dancers.

Courtney avoided walking through the crowd and instead walked around, she was planning on waiting out the night on the couch, but changed her mind when she found a drunk couple playing tag with there Tung’s. So instead she walked into the kitchen passing some nerds doing a keg stand. Courtney grabbed a water bottle out of the well stalked refrigerator and slipped out the sliding glass door that led to the underground pool in the back yard.

When she got to the pool it was almost completely packed, witch left all the lounge chairs that surrounded it empty, so for the lack of a more vacant spot she sat down and began to think about Travis and her. Travis was a very muscular guy that stood about six and a half foot tall, with a pointed jaw and close cropped black hair, his nicely tanned complexion matched well with his brown eyes. Altogether Travis Colt was nice to look at, but Courtney really secretly yearned for a more mature, and deeper guy but the odds of finding a guy like that in Camden high school was doubtful, and even more so if you were looking for someone who was more in touch with there emotions.

“Hey Courtney.” Nash Gibson said strolling up next to her and dropping into the lounge chair on her right.

“Hey Nash, how’s it going?” Courtney asked, thankful to be pulled from her thoughts.

“Pretty good, how about yourself?” Nash replied swallowing a big gulp of his beer.

“I’m good.” Courtney said trying not to notice how drunk Nash was becoming.

“Why are you alone out here?” Nash asked glancing around the pool.

“Just thinking.” Courtney returned noticing that Nash’s head was beginning to sway back and forth.

“How are you getting home?” Courtney asked after several seconds of silence.

“I’m going to drive of course.” Nash said a moment later trying to stand but failing and landing rite back in the lounge chair.

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” She stated flatly.

“I’m starting to think your rite.” Nash said pulling his phone from his pocket and dialing a number.

“Hey Jett, are you busy? Oh ok good I kind of need you to come and get me.”

“Cool, I’m in the back by the pool. Ok thanks Jett.” Nash finished. He then turned to Courtney and asked. “Do you mind if I wait here?”

“No not at all.” Courtney replied as her own phone beginning to vibrate in her lap, the message displayed on her phone read. ‘On second thought ill be there in a little while.’ It was from Travis.

Close to thirty minutes later Courtney herd the sound of a loud car pull into the front yard, she knew rite away it was Jett the tall wiry teen from her Spanish class, He wasn’t bad looking either when he came in to the back yard wearing a black tee shirt and blue jeans. Jett had good set of brown hair that always favored the right side of his head, Jett also had the most amazing blue eyes Courtney had ever saw. He also happened to drive her favorite model car, a 69 Camaro.

“Thank you for Watching him for me.” Jett said to Courtney helping Nash out of the lounge chair in witch he had fell asleep In twenty or so minutes before.

“It’s no problem, I would have felt bad if he had drowned in the pool.” Courtney returned as the two of them shared a short laugh.

Jett had managed to pull Nash from the chair only to drop him, Courtney in reflex caught him.

“What the hell is going on out here?” Courtney’s boy friend Travis said, obviously walking out just in time to see Courtney holding Nash who was finally waking up from his drunken slumber.

“What’s going on?” Cassie said stepping out behind Travis.

“Nothing, I’m just taking Nash here home.” Jett said finally speaking up.

“I’m going to kick your ass.” Travis said pointing at Nash, who just started to stand on his own again.

“I’m not going to let that happen.” Jett said stepping in-between the two of them.

“Oh yeah.” Travis said giving Jett a hard right to the face.

“Stop!” Courtney tried but it was already to late.

Jett wiped the fresh blood from his lip and hit Travis once in the ribs and then again in the face causing Travis to collapse to the ground wheezing. Jett then grabbed for Nash and exited through the growing crowed of spectators and through the side gate. Seconds later Courtney herd the sound of Jett’s Muscle car crank and race out of the driveway. “What did I miss?” Courtney’s brother, Lane Taylor asked appearing behind Travis. Courtney rolled her eyes and walked back inside the house.

"Courtney was setting" ("Courtney was sitting") when saying someones name, and stating who they are to the person you mentioned before, use a comma. "Travis, her boyfriend.." or "Cassie, her friend...". (playing tag with there Tung’s) first off, i love this, but you misspelled tongue. (witch left all the lounge chairs....") wrong use of witch, it's which. (“I’m starting to think your rite.”) it's right, not rite. you've created some interesting plot twists.

Okay so I like your second chapter. It's not as long as the first chapter but it has great detail from what Courtney is seeing and doing, it's like turning on the Tv to a teen drama show and watching it all play out. I also like how you went from Jett to Courtney giving the readers the idea that later on there might be something going on between the two of them and Courtney's boyfriend as well. Keep up the great work and I'll be waiting for the third chapter!!!

I hope you mean 'tongue' instead of 'Tung's.'

'witch left all the lounge '
'which left all the lounge'

'Thank you for Watching him for me'
'watching' instead of 'Watching'

Oh my gosh, I so hate hows it ends, but I love it all the same. I wish it ended better. But some of the stuff in here is either capitalized when it shouldn't be or spelled the wrong way, just watch out for that. Other than the things about I really like the story and up you write another chapter cause I really like it.
