Jett Ross

Jett was setting in his history class staring into a map, wondering what made Travis apologize, then ask him if he was going to the bonfire Jett was already planning on attending.

It just suck’s there’s going to be chaperons, or it could get really fun.” Nash finished, he had obviously been talking about the bonfire, but Jett’s thought’s had already lay claim to his attention.

So what are doing after school?” Nash asked pulling a black notebook and pen from his bag.

I was thinking about, going to the Eagles Nest café, then maybe go ride around.” Jett replied thankful he had the day off from the mechanic shop at which he worked, changing another old ladies spark plugs didn’t sound to fun.

Sounds cool can I join you?” Nash asked as the teacher informed the class of a pop quiz, causing the room to fill with aggravated sighs.

Yeah, no problem.” Jett said pulling a pen from his Bag.

Good, I need a ride home anyway my dad grounded me for a day, after I came home drunk last night.” Nash finished. Just as the teacher placed the quiz in front of the two of them.

I’ll pick you up after football practice. Wait you only got grounded for a day?” Jett asked, amazed at what Nash was capable of getting away with.

Yeah, my dad said that as long as I didn’t drive drunk, he was ok with drinking every now and then.” Nash said writing his name on the top of his paper.

Incredible.” Jett said sarcastically then the short chubby bold teacher stuck a nubby finger to his thin lips, indicating it was time for Jett and Nash to shut up.

Jett was napping in his Spanish class when the bell rang, letting all the students know that it was time to go home. He walked slowly through the loud crowd of students eager to get out of the building, Jett wasn’t in a hurry though so he slipped into the library and was scanning the shelves for a new book to read, when Courtney strolled into the room her curls bouncing the whole way. She was on the phone and Jett could hear her say. “So you can’t pick me up?” the answer from the other line must have been a no because Courtney ended the call and stuffed the phone into her pocket and leaned against the shelve that held multiple sets of dictionaries.

Jett hated seeing her cry, he didn’t know why it just made him want to hug her, and look into her deep blue eyes. Seconds later Jett found himself questioning his thoughts, he had never even given Courtney a second glance, but now since there brief conversation the night before, he knew she wasn’t the selfish spoiled, shallow girl he had made her out to be. Without thinking Jett strolled up to her and said.

I wasn’t ease dropping or nothing, but I heard your conversation on the phone.”

Oh, I didn’t think anybody else was in here.” Courtney said pushing herself off the shelve and wiping the tears from her eyes.

Not that it’s any of my business but, what’s wrong?”

I’m just having a bad day, and I don’t feel like getting harassed on that damn bus.”

Oh, well if you want, I can drive you to where you need to go.” Jett said pulling his keys from his pocket.

After how Travis acted last night, I’m not so sure that’s a good idea.” Courtney said as a smile finally spread across her face, the smile not only made Courtney feel better, but also Jett Who was still suppressing the urge to wrap her in his arms.

I won’t tell him if you don’t.” Jett replied, causing Courtney and Jett both to laugh a little.

Ok, lead the way then.” Courtney returned smiling completely now.

Once in the car Jett put the keys in the ignition and started the car causing the old muscle car to roar to life, but he had forgotten to turn the music off and it was now playing ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams,’ by Green Day. As Jett reached for the radio to turn it down Courtney caught his arm placed it back on the dark leather arm rest and said. “I like this song.”

Me too.” Jett said smiling. He backed up and put the Camaro into drive then looked over at Courtney who seemed to be enjoying the car or the music, maybe both. But the beautiful smile that lite her face Made Jett’s stomach lift with a feeling unlike any other. Jett stomped down on the gas and watched in the review mirror as the dust rose and spun in grainy curls.

interesting song choice :) i had that stuck in my head for a week. Again just a few misspells and weird wording. if you need an editor i can help. you're really good at developing the main characters and adding a few personality twists. like, when Jett started seeing courtney for who she actually is, or at the beginning when Jett implied that travis didn't really apologize much by acting surprised that he did. aslo, most people wouldn't put too much detail in small thing, like the Camaro or how courtney's curls bounce when she walks. nice!

Hi! there Youngwriter724 :) ..

The description of events as well as the infatuation of Jett is realistic that makes a reader catch-up and relate to the story. Thus, I find this chapter cute and sparks of love starts to show along with Jett's shyness that made me smile and say “aw, this is sweet.”

I just found a few minor errors:
Spelling of shelf. Then,

“I wasn’t ease dropping or nothing, but I heard your conversation on the phone.”

I suppose, you mean eavesdropping in this line.

But the beautiful smile that lite her face Made Jett’s stomach lift with a feeling unlike any other.

In here, I reckon that it must be lit without ‘e.’ Also, the letter ‘m’ should be a small letter then after lift put a comma and abridge the next words with ‘a feeling like no other’ this sounds much better to me but it's still your choice.

All in all, I like the story..
Keep writing :)
