BOLD

In Poetry

BOLD was written in response to a few comments I received on my poem Fireworks which I encourage you to read if you want to better understand this one. There's a link to it on the main page I think. Anyway, I welcome criticism and as I was reading some of the reviews for Fireworks some people said I was wrong for being so "ignorantly bold". well, this is a response to that (not mad at that person at all, it's just a response).

BOLD

It is fear that dampens strength
And hides true greatness in the shadows.
But the fire of my strength will not smolder.
With the power of mouth and pen it will blaze.

I will be BOLD.
I will be FEARLESS.

There are no words that can be written
And none that can fall from anyone’s lips
That will make me cower.
I will never fall to my knees in defeat.

I will be BOLD.
I will be FEARLESS.

I call to you, brother and sisters:
Be challenged!
Let no one and nothing smother your flame!
Speak and be heard.

Be BOLD.
Be FEARLESS.

wow, this is really good, I'm not a poet and don't claim to be but I think even people like me can totally understand the message, it is straight forward and strong, and, well Bold as we've said before, awesome job

This is a very powerful poem indeed. Mainly because the message is straight to the point and it's length gives it that strong hold on the reader. It is a brilliant way to repspond to critiques because it avoids you having to explain your point and it is also very creative. Besides, poetry is for the expression of emotions and you did that very well without (I hope) offending anyone.

Secondly it can be related to many other people, not just to you because you wrote it as a response to your previous poem's reviews. It's a message to everyone because there is always a moment when we find it hard to stand up for what we think is right.

Lastly, I'd say there were no errors, the rhythm was kept constant and the repeptition of "...be bold/...be fearless" made your poem's message even stronger. So inall I think it was very well written.

Good job!
Keep writing! :)

A BOLD piece indeed.
I like the decision to use the capitalization, how it powerfully emphasizes words. The poem is, I suppose the best word to describe it is empowering. It's very well written, no errors in semantics that I can see, but most importantly it's powerful. It's also a respectful response, which of course is good.
In conclusion, awesome as always yadda yadda yadda.
