In Poems

Spoiler! :
Namaste~! I would have put this in the "description area" but its too small. *Someone must tell Nate.* Anyways, this poem may sound a bit cliche, but I'm not too sure. Review please? :) Thank you!

Sorry, a five letter word,
Carried so much feeling, once in this world.
Sorry, this five letter word,
Now its nothing, but just a word.

"Sorry, I forgot..."
"Sorry, I just thought..."
"Sorry, I really can't come..."
Sorry; an excuse it has become.

Once, sorry would mean to mend.
To mend a broken heart, a broken pen, a broken word.
Chocolate, bouquets, etc, etc!
An apology was expensive!

Sorry, would now mean:

S- So
O- Own
R- Really
R- Red
Y- Yeah.

So Own Really Red Yeah?
What sense does that make!
Nothing, does it?
Well, thats the value of our 'sorry', it is.
Its nothing.

Its as expensive as any five letter word would be,
But it would be nothing related to money.
Sorry... What is this five letter word?
Sorry, its just a word.

.....................................................................................................................................

Whoop Whoop! Review now please? ^^

Awesome Poem you have here and I see you really have done a Good Job! xDD

Everyone loves it but iLoveMore ^^ ♥♥

Only think is that try not to use 'etc!etc!' in poems. MY POEM which didn't even rhyme at all >.< had "etc!etc!" and I showed it to Mini Ma'am :O

She said not to use it again but hey don't worry much about it. And I so AGREE WITH YOU!
Sorry has just become a WORD. Now it's never even bothered. Poor 'Sorry' :( :P

Loved it like hell !

4 ¾ / 5! :D

*claps*

Your's,

Sorry, a five letter word,
Carried so much feeling, once in this world.
Sorry, this five letter word,
Now its nothing, but just a word.

This stanza is very strong and I like it. You are getting the point across clearly and reading this stanza I can probably guess what the next paragraphs are going to be about.

"Sorry, I forgot..."
"Sorry, I just thought..."
"Sorry, I really can't come..."
Sorry; an excuse it has become.

This stanza to be honest wasn't as powerful and it didn't quite flow as well as others did. But! It did go good with each other.

Once, sorry would mean to mend.
To mend a broken heart, a broken pen, a broken word.
Chocolate, bouquets, etc, etc!
An apology was expensive!

This paragraph kind of confuses me, you used rhymes for the other stanzas above but chose not to here? To be completely honest the 'chocolate, bouquets, etc, etc!' was kind of random. I didn't see how it fit in to the rest of the poem.

Sorry, would now mean:

S- So
O- Own
R- Really
R- Red
Y- Yeah.

So Own Really Red Yeah?
What sense does that make!
Nothing, does it?
Well, thats the value of our 'sorry', it is.
Its nothing.

I would of critiqued on how the meaning of sorry didn't make sense but you explained that which I thought was quite clever. The only thing this paragraph didn't quite need was the 'it is' after 'Well, thats the value of our 'sorry''.

Its as expensive as any five letter word would be,
But it would be nothing related to money.
Sorry... What is this five letter word?
Sorry, its just a word.

I quite like this stanza although some spelling errors have occurred not just in this stanza but for example 'its' would be 'it's'.

I did like this poem and I hope you do more like this. I would appreciate it if you could review some of my work, but you don't have to it's fine. Well done and good luck in the future!

This poem is so true! I mean, how many times are people really sorry for what they've done? "Sorry" means you won't do it again. Sorry has just become a word, or a temporary mending of feelings until the next mistake comes along. Very well written. I love this poem.

I really liked it. And it's true too! People used to say sorry and really mean it, but now they just say it. you did a good job of putting that in a few lines. Great Job!!

Nitpicky? Yes? Okay then :

Justtrying wrote:Sorry, a five letter word,

Sorry, this five letter word,

I like the way this rhymes but do you really have to use the word 'word' three times? It sounds a little forced - see if you can find another word to put.

Justtrying wrote:"Sorry, I forgot..."
"Sorry, I just thought..."
"Sorry, I really can't come..."
Sorry; an excuse it has become.

Good stanza, if maybe a little repetetive. Also, I would change the ; to an : (I think it's more grammatically correct)

Try not to use etc, etc in a poem. My english teacher told me that (and although this isn't an exam) examiners won't ever give you marks for it because it's lazy. Don't be lazy! :)

That's about it from me! Hope I wasn't too nitpicky

I found this poem very true. Sorry doesn't mean anything any more, it's literally just a word. I love how you made that very clear in the poem.

Justtrying wrote:"Sorry, I forgot..."
"Sorry, I just thought...""Sorry, I really can't come...
"Sorry; an excuse it has become.

I love this verse, it is my favourite. And the last two lines are great, they sum up the whole poem really well, and I like how you use sorry in the way you explained we weren't meant to.

Good poem! Keep it up!

You don't know how much I agree with this. Sorry was a word that used to be the key to the foregrounds of forgiveness. Now? It's a cheap ticket to nowhere. What real value is there in Sorry? As you say. Nothing. Forgiveness can no longer be found in Sorry. Regret, wanting to repent, are all things that existed in the glowing heart of the word sorry. But it's almost as empty a word as 'love' is nowadays. You did a fantastic job at adding humanity in your approach. It doesn't exactly take a genius to understand. Everyone, wise and foolish can see the bare reality of this piece. You made it raw, you made it tasteful, you made it strong and more importantly you made it your own. Bravo. One thing I'm not sorry for, is taking the time to read this. I'll be sure to forward this to friends, too. This is great!
