It's day eight of being in the healing rooms of the palace of King Malik and Queen Sesi of Timeless Province. Despite my reluctance to talk to the King, the Queen continues to schedule daily visits between the three of us and the kind, yet strict healer, Luna. Still, I have found myself enjoying the visits, even if I would never say so to the woman.
I have also begun to fall in a routine of sorts. Usually I wake up to the early morning after some odd dream, usually of a woman singing or of a kind laughter that usually accompanies a deep sensation of longing and despair that leaves me unwilling to sleep again. Usually after, I will find myself attempting to escape, as custom, and after many attempts, I have decided that room was pretty much warded in some unseen way. The mechanism in the wall does not allow me to use it other than to alert the healer of my awareness.
My one, and only, attempt through the window was largely failed. There is a barrier just on the inside of the glass, preventing any attempt to open it. So, having exhausted all ways of escape, I have begun to use the time to read more of the race, often asking questions to Luna over them. It was intriguing and frustrating at the same time.
Usually then, I am given the first meal of the day. After the third day, Luna asked if I desired to learn the language and while having nothing to do and being a hidden scholar, I relished in the idea of learning their langauge if only to be of more use to the King, Father. I still struggle daily with the piercing headaches and blanks of time in which I assumed the "newer" personality takes over which at times can be quite lengthy.
Currently, I am waiting on Luna to return, having grown extremely curious over their career system after finding a book over it before breakfast. It really makes me curious after having learned that a lot of the illnesses within the race seem to happen to children after having been learning the healing style of Luna for the past few days.
Writing in this journal that they gave me the first time I awake, has become somewhat of a habit now, which is somewhat irritating. To be so attached to this book is unbecoming of a member of the Escya's Royal Family. Still, it allows me to keep track of the days and of the many changes I've noticed in myself since the spell they say was partially broken.
I can hear Luna arriving so I shall have to stop writing for now. I really wish to know more about this system that is set up for the Dragire, as Luna explained is the technical term for the people of Timeless.
It's been almost four hours since I last wrote. Their career system is simply inspiring and definitely unique for we have discussed it in detail for the entire time. Luna has just left to bring the midday meal and I feel compelled to explain all that I learned about the career system that Luna had willingly expanded on.
It seems the Dragire enter a separate stage of their development at around puberty, which I found interesting. This stage prepares them to study hard in order to provide for their families, compelling them almost shockingly powerfully to do well in their chosen career path, which is often decided by their magic's innate talent and their own desires. This had me a bit startled, for I had remembered when I had just turned thirteen and I had pushed myself hard in my healing studies, having hidden it deeply so the King would be unable to learn of my treachery.
But it seems, according to Luna, that once a child reached twenty-one, they are tested by their chosen career paths. Depending on how well they do, depends how high in the ladder in which they start. This is often symbolized as their maturehood into being an adult and able to have a family. It is seemingly a very treasured and important milestone in the family for a child to complete their education and be able to test into a good career start.
I noticd that Luna seemed to think before she spoke and obviously she didn't tell me everything about it but I honestly couldn't blame her. My compulsion and personality at the moment would no doubt run to the King Father even if I had not wanted it. I could feel the spells affect on my mind and body, and it makes me unbelievably sickened and deeply betrayed. There are times where my mind considers the spell as necessary and then other times, I can't help but curse the man for doing this to me. It often leaves me exhausted mentally and I find myself sleeping more than I have ever done before.
Even now, I find myself growing too tired to keep writing. The constant switching of my personalities throughout the discussion with Luna has become too taxing and I shall leave the rest of the day to the peaceful sleep that accompanies me in the daytime.

Hi @Soulkana!
Lorelie here for Review Day. After dwelling a little bit upon the Green Room for some time, I decided I should review your work. This is a very interesting piece, even though I've never reviewed Fantasy. I can' t help but think, where can I find Chapter One?
I think you misspelled language and put an extra comma before Father
This may be a bit overwhelming, but I don't understand how she could find a book while she's locked inside the room... unless there's a little library inside!
I really liked this bit:
Overall, it seems to build much of its own by itself, without telling too much of the story. I like the wording you used. It helps me get into the medieval-like setting of the story. I can't wait to reading more in the next chapters...
Keep it up!

Happy Review Day!
I haven’t read the previous chapters and, hence, this review will only be based on this one.
It’s awkwardly worded; there are too many “of” used. Try: It’s the eight day and I have been in the healing rooms of King Malik and Queen Sesi’s palace.
Please specify, why are they reluctant? Are they not ready to face the King? Are they scared?
In order to read it with ease, this long sentence needs to be broken down. Plus, you have repeated “usually” thrice and it looks untidy. Try: Often, I wake up after an odd dream, usually of a woman singing or of a kind laughter that accompanies a deep sensation of longing and despair. It leaves me unwilling to sleep again.
I have noticed a similar issue in a couple of other places. I’d advise you to read over your work to spot them and make corrections.
Why’s she trying to escape?
The question below is the one I think you might have addressed in the first chapter.
Who’s she to the King and Queen? She appears to be an important person if the royals are paying her a daily visit.
I hope this review helps.
Well done, and keep writing!
