We the people vow to protect our own.
Yet judgment & labels have poisoned the watering hole.
Leaving humanity corrupted and torn apart.
We are in need for a brand new start.
. . .
We as people are to blame for our own demise.
Hiding in darkness it cannot hide.
Our destruction comes dangerously near.
The voices that cry, we cannot hear.
. . .
Religion has become toxic.
There is no home left here.
The scripture you read has been branded with lies.
We have sinned, although we have denied,
I pray for the day we are counted as equals,
as one,
will that day ever come?
. . .
Have we the right to judge each other, before we judge ourselves?
From skin color, to our inner state of mind.
How could we have been so blind?
The future has yet to be uncovered, until we accept the crimes that we commit.
. . .
We the blind, to ignorant to see.
We the arrogant, have not the right to claim.
We the pernicious, to numb to feel.
We the people, have yet to heal.

Hi

In my opinion this is a very strong piece. It is very intense and really pushes the reader, and makes us reflect on the life we are living."Religion has become toxic. There is no home left here." This was one of the parts that really stood out to me. It seemed to me very philosophical and may be interpreted in different ways. This poem could be related to any time in the history, making it timeless. It is truly great
Why thank you! I'm really glad you liked it. ^-^
Hello! This is my first review, and I hope I'll do okay.
The first two sentences really hooked me in. I could already relate to what was being said and could also make a connection to how it is with everyday life.
The truth behind this is something no human can quite comprehend, as we go on with our daily lives and try to hide the struggles that we carry. I feel that this part of your poem was very deep, and made me want to keep reading as I became more interested in where you were going and what message you were sending out.
Describing perfectly how we lie to ourselves.
I love how you take the truth of how our world works and put it into a beautiful poem. You tell us that even though everything may seem okay, it really isn't, and don't bluntly tell us so, but bring us on a journey through each area in which humans wrong one another. I believe this poem is perfect the way it is, and can't ask for better wording to describe how everything is.
I'm glad someone likes this poem! Most people criticized this as being not very realistic or true or too harsh on humanity, ect.
You have great taste!
It was amazing! It's the truth, and the truth hurts an it's harsh. It's honestly the most realistic poem I've probably ever read. It really hits home on how the world is becoming, and I couldn't agree with you more on this poem. It was amazing and don't let anybody get you down!
This is TOTALY amazeballs!
