Promising young man, they said it was only one mistake Promising young man, they said just give him a break Promising young ladies simply don't have as much worth She should have acted differently give thanks it wasn't worse Promising young people with all their hopes and dreams Should take responsibility for all their words and deeds

Partly inspired by the movie "Promising Young Woman"
Hey there! I really enjoyed the short poem of yours. I thought that the tone and theme was very interesting. You begin by talking about a promising young man. To this man, they say things like "it was only one mistake "or that he deserves a break. Then you talk about promising young ladies. For them, they don't have as much worth as the young men. And they should be grateful that it wasn't worse for them. That's something we hear a lot. "Oh, you shouldn't be scared or sad, it could've been so so much worse!"
And then you talk about young people as a whole. Not only to one group, but we should all take responsibility for what we do, and for our own dreams. I love how you speak to the sense of equality amongst all people, good and bad. Overall, I really love this. I felt like you spoke to a lot of stigma that women face, as well as men. I like the font and organization that you used to, it was very unique! I was very engaged throughout those piece and thoroughly. Enjoyed it. Fantastic work and keep on writing!

Hi there! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today! (/≧▽≦)/
Good afternoon Lunar! Cupid here, thought I'd fly over a review for you poem today. Let's get flying! (Also thought I'd try out a new method like the YWS s'mores Method...The Boba Method! herbalhour was the one to inspired me to try this out)
⚫ The Boba Pearls: First Impression:
Your poem caught my attention with its powerful opening lines. The repetition of "Promising young-" emphasizes the contrast between societal expectations and the reality faced by young individuals. sets the tone for a thought-provoking piece that challenges preconceived notion.
🍵The Tea Base: Room Improvements!
As I delved into your poem, I couldn't help but wonder if there was an opportunity explore the emotions and experiences of the "promising young" individuals a bit. Perhaps expanding on their struggles, aspirations, or resilience would add depth to the piece.
🥛The Milk: Highlights of Piece
What really stood out to me in your poem is the way you address the unfair standards placed on young people. The juxtaposition between the treatment of "young men" and "young women" is particularly impactful. It sheds light the gender disparities that persist in society, young women often shouldering the burden of blame and judgment.
🍬 The Sweetener: Favorite lines!
This line is incredibly powerful! It exposes the double standards sadly still exist, suggesting that the worth of young women is diminished simply due to gender. It highlights the importance of challenging and dismantling these harmful beliefs.
This line captures the essence of the poem showcasing the expectations placed upon young individuals to be accountable for their actions. It calls attention to the societal pressure for perfection and the need for understanding that young people are immune to making mistakes, well done.
🧋 Completed drink: Closing thoughts
Your poem is a beautiful and mesmerizing reflection on the challenges faced by young individuals and the unfair judgments they encounter. It shines a light on the gender disparities that persist and the societal that can be suffocating. Your use of repetition and concise lines allows impactful storytelling and conveyance of emotions. Thank you for sharing this thought-provoking piece. I hope to read more of your work in the future.
Fly high writer, Cupid 💘
Hi! I saw your poem, and wanted to stop by and review it.
This one really hit. Short, but right to the point. I can feel the punchiness and contempt behind word. As someone who's heard victim-blaming rhetoric before, especially in the context of assault, which this seems to be discussing to some degree, I could tell immediately what you were going for.
People tend to say that men, or just abusers in general, should be let off with a warning, dismissing the horrible trauma that the hurt victim will carry with them for the rest of their life. They tell this victim that they should've just been trying to avoid getting hurt, instead of punishing the one responsible for the pain.
The last stanza gives a firm message that we're all responsible for our own actions, and not the actions of others, and if you hurt someone, you're responsible for the consequences, as to not ruin your own life or the life of someone else.
This was a poignant piece, and I genuinely have no nitpicks.
Keep writing,
Berrie
