You're Safe, You're Sound

E - Everyone

In Poetry

Stop, look around, breathe

You're safe now

Silence, stop your shaking

I'm here now

You're safe, you're sound

....

The voices, I've stopped them

They'll no longer torment

Please, no more crying

I am holding you, your moment

Don't quit, you're completely worth it

.....

Be the person you are inside

Smile, no one can see you in the corner

Don't hide, come to me

You're safe, you're sound

Your lines, I'll heal them.

This is where I begin,

Trust me on this.

I will pick up the pieces,

Give you resting bliss.

...

You're wanted, you're loved

Even scarred you're enough

I have you now

You're safe

You're sound

I really enjoyed reading this poem. It captured the ways that many people including myself feel almost daily. People and words can hurt but we just have to remember that everything will be okay. I understand how you were probably feeling when you wrote this. With God, we are safe. God will never abandon you. He's the only one that we can rely on forever. I can promise you this, God loves you, he cares for you, and everything is for a purpose. A lot of things are hard to be sure of in the world but this is something that will never change or fail us. We have God here for us. Don't ever forget that because He's always on our side even when it is hard to see and remember. Nothing is too big for Him to handle be cause He is THE LORD OF LORDS and THE KING OF ALL KINGS! I'm always here for you to talk to btw. Anyway, great poem and beautifully formatted. Keep on writing! :)

This is very inspiring. Your poem provides much needed comfort to people. Everyone can feel this poem in some way. I've read other pieces you've wrote and I really enjoy your style of separation with the dots. The refrain of "You're safe, you're sound" is simple yet very profound in a subjective way. You've managed to create a cozy chair, thoughtful friend, and warm drink feeling in a few lines. I enjoy your style. I don't have much of anything as far as critiques go. Thank you for your thoughtful writing!

Thank you so so so much! I'm glad this is a cozy chair type of thing. That makes me so glad. *hug*

Thank you for this, I really needed to read it. c: Did you write this for anyone in particular?
Anyways, while this poem has a good flow and message, I agree with the previous reviewer. Nothing jumps out at me as different from some similar poems that I've read before. Nothing especially unique, and it could use more imagery.
That being said, I did enjoy this. It left me with a sense of longing, because there's nobody on this earth that would do this for me. It represents something essentially broken about me that cannot be fixed. (That's what I was reminded of when I read it, anyways.) I like this, though. ^^ If you're ever planning on publishing it, though, you could try mixing it up a bit?

(PS I am by no means a professional poet, haha)

Well, I wrote this for me. I suffered from bipolar depression for fours and this was a product of one late night scare. No problem. I knew there was a reason that I posted this :). Hey, I'll listen if you need it. You're okay :).

Sorry this review was so short >.<

Hi! I liked this poem. As someone with general anxiety reading this poem was a nice friendly reminder to breathe and realize that at this moment in time I am safe. I would have liked to have all the stanzas the number of lines, as the first two stanzas were the exact same in line count. I also would have liked to see you expand on this, adding detailed imagery and being less repetitive. This poem sort of reminded me of a song or a lyrical poem. The way it reads with good flow and repetitive I mean. I also felt like this poem lacked originality and uniqueness. It sort of felt like you spent a long time on tumblr or Pinterest looking for inspirational quotes and then just threw them together and called it a poem. I'm really sorry if I'm being harsh, I'm trying to be honest with you.

I am holding you, your moment
I felt like this line was a little odd, "your moment" just didn't make sense or feel right to me.

I hope my review was helpful,
Alice

Hey! No lol. I've got a tumblr but have no clue how to use it. I got it from a few bible verses I had read when I was going through some tough times. You weren't being harsh. I'm tough enough to take it :)
