The Truth

E - Everyone

In poems

You're like love

Everybody wants you

But only the lucky people get you.

You comfort people wherever you go.

And like love, you infect anyone,

No matter what they've done

You can always find the good in them,

Isn't that what love's supposed to do?

Feed away at the dark corners of your mind?

Change you for the better?

Love's like a disease

It spreads,

And it can't always be cured.

For some people, love fades

Like over time a cold goes away,

But it never really, goes away

It never really dies.

And like a disease

You're everywhere

You're in my thoughts,

I can hear you in my sleep

The low and hushed whispers.

I dream of you

I FEEL you

Your soft but calloused hands brushing mine

Your breath at the back of my neck

Your lips on mine.

I write about you

I think of you all the time

And I can't get you out of my head!

Just like love attacks its victims.

You have infected me with you.

But, I am death.

Nobody wants me

I bring comfort to a few

But that's nothing compared to you.

But like I said,

Only the lucky ones get love.

And you, have been infected,

But so has she,

Life;

A beautiful lie.

She brings joy to others

And she brings joy to you.

I am just a horrible truth.

And that's all it is,

The Truth

This poem is truly well-written... it really uses a great sense of imagery and metaphors to get the message across. I love the formatting of this - you used emphasis when necessary (like capitalizing certain words) and keeping each line short and to the point. I can really feel the senses of this poem, and the lines after "I FEEL you" really gave me tingling feelings (not in a weird way). The entire body of the poem was for describing reasons... and the ending really ties the message and the meaning of the title together. Capitalizing the word "Truth" helped in adding effect to the greater meaning of this as well.

The only thing I would say is to remove the comma from line 16 - it's not necessary to have that there.

Overall, this was a beautifully written poem!

Hello there! Quick review for you....

I absolutely LOVE this!! You did an excellent job with expressing emotion in this poem. Your grammar is good but there are a few punctuation and capitalization mistakes.
"Just like love attacks its victims.
You have infected me with you."
For this part I don't know if you meant it to be this way but I would suggest a comma after victims instead of a period. I think it would just flow better.
I love this poem and I hope to see more of your work in the future!

Keep writing amazing things!

Hi CJ6233!

That's a lovely poem you've got there! :D

Oops, forgot to introduce myself!

I'm Liberty500. I'll be giving you a short and quick review.

You've done a terrific job with your emotions! But, in some sentences, the beginning of your sentences are capitalized and some aren't. You might wanna fix that.

In these two sentences: "Loves like a disease" and "and I cant get you out of my head!" you have two apostrophe mistakes: In the first sentence the "Loves" -> "Love's" and in the second sentence "cant" -> "can't". :)

So...

Keep on writing!

Hi Liberty500!

I saw your comment on my blog and I'd again like to thank you for that :D. Thanks for the advice, I didn't actually notice those mistakes, I don't know what I was doing with the capetalization lol. Thank you again and I will get to fixing those mistakes.

Too often we crave the extraordinary in life, without even learning how to cherish the ordinary first. Friend, I promise you this: if you can learn to take joy in the simple mundane things in life, the extraordinary will take care of itself, it'll be on its way, hurrying towards you. But if you skip the first part, it'll ever evade you.
