Hard

E - Everyone

In Short Story's

It's hard.

Everything.

And what I think is everything

Everyone thinks it's nothing.

It's hard to be happy all the time.

It's hard to be myself

Without feeling like an idiot.

It's hard to think about my past.

It's hard to dream about my future.

It's hardest to live in my present.

It's hard to pretend I'm don't care.

It's hard to understand.

It's hard to take people's insults.

It's hard to be criticised for the things I can't change.

It's hard to compare myself to others

Without criticising myself.

Sometimes it is hard to be me.

But with all of the things that make me, me

I wouldn't change if for the world.

Because the only you can compare yourself to is

The person you were yesterday.

And the only person you can judge is

The person you are today.

I'll over come my trials.

Will it be hard?

Most definitely.

But I will progress from the person I am today.

Even through I feel like it's such a grim trial

I'll over come these dire times.

Tips and Opinions

Okay now that I fixed all your grammar and punctuation, it's time to talk about the other things. I felt like you were lacking stanzas (paragraphs in poetry/verses). I feel like if you broke up the poem every few lines it would help the flow and make it easier to read/understand. I felt like this poem was good but it seemed rather cliche. It also didn't flow very well and it lacked imagery and metaphors. All of these issues can be fixed and this poem is good but for a beginner in poetry (coming from an amateur poet xD )

Anyway I hope this review was helpful,
Alice

It's good. The way you have used the word "HARD" in different ways is appreciable. Life is hard, this is a bitter truth. But one can get over it. all is not lost. Hope is still left. Throughout the poem you have used the word "Hard" but while talking about the present you used the word "HARDEST" and that depicts your fight, struggle and the way you take everything hard. You find it "hardest" to live in present.

"It's hardest to live in my present"

I think this one line is enough to describe one;s situation.

Moreover, the struggle to be "Yourself" is also not that easy nowadays. This poem is nicely penned. Great job. Keep it up :)

Overall, your poem seems to be a good, strong, and personal expression. This factor helps enhance your writing in poetry.

Content wise, I'll say that you've made your mark about reflecting who you are today, and learning from past and so on. It's quite philosophical as you're objective towards expressing how life in general runs for everyone, and not only for you.

Grammar and Spelling I feel could use some attention, because at times there were some minor errors. They didn't make this writing so much of a disaster though, so keep it up!

In terms of Structure, I feel you could've split it up into stanzas like how poetry is meant to be. For some poems they don't need stanzas, but for this, I feel you could break the stanzas in such a way that each stanza emphasizes on one particular aspect (of something being hard).

Your poem is very consistent and coherent, meaning no confusion is being created. The idea of repeating the word "hard" adds emphasis such that we understand what you want to say.

Likewise, literary usage (metaphors, similes etc), I could only identify limited usage of such terms. These types of poems, being written with literal and narrative language, doesn't use so much literary devices. In this case, I find it acceptable. For next time, if you want to add more power/emphasis to your content in poetry, make sure you make use of such literary devices. It'll certainly help readers to get an analogy of such and so on.

Overall, my personal rating for your content is 3.1/5

Keep it up! :)

Hello!

First of all, you've got a very nice title. It's short, sweet, but still succeeded in attracting me. The same can be said for your first line - it makes the reader want to go on, and in just two words, a lot has been said. That is very skilled.

Another thing is that I can really feel the emotion from this poem. I feel the pain that you experience, but I also sense hope, which is great, because it shows that there is a silver lining in every cloud. I also love how you have a long list of things that are hard, and then suddenly end it with "Without criticising myself". Something about that I like; the effect is great.

Just one little thing:

"It's hard to criticised for the things I can't change."

Make sure you watch out for these little errors, and check for them. They can be fixed really easily, but make the poem look quite a bit better. I know I've made random typos before, so just make sure you read over the poem so you don't miss them. But as for the actual content, I think there's nothing that can be changed, and the style of the poetry is original and unique but again, I think it's fine the way it is.

Well done!

Hey BEWriter! Just read your poem and I really liked it. I can totally relate to having people judge me, as can others. I like that you made it very relatable and I think that's why it had a bigger impact on me. The syntax you used made your poem very interesting, especially the mid-section that has the repetive 'It's'. I think it give the theme and the work as a whole a deeper and bigger impact. Your piece was very moving and feel that others should read this as well. Now, I don't want to be that guy and start hounding you on spelling errors and or typos, but I thought you should know in case you missed them. I wouldn't want them taking away from an amazing piece of work. I'm the fourteenth line, I believe you meant to say 'It's hard to be criticized' and in line twenty, I believe you meant to say 'Because the only you, you can compare'. Other than that, I liked it. And in poems, anything goes. So keep posting good content and I hope to read more of your work.
