Well, things got a little crazy toward the end of the trip as we had to dodge the storms from a hurricane -while they were literally traveling along the same trajectory as us. And with a very unsteady camper in high wind and sheets of rain, on mountain roads, um...yeah, that was quite stressful O.O

Tennessee was really getting the worst of it with a whole dam failure, and they've already claimed a state of emergency. So has Georgia, as far as my knowledge goes. So let's send some good vibes, prayers, or anything of the sort to them pls! I know some great people across these states that would appreciate it <33

Edit: the situation has since gotten SO much worse than you may be thinking. I'm begging you, pray for these people.

That aside, before the storms hit, we had quite a good time! We drove down to Florida in hopes of visiting Destin for nostalgic reasons. That was cut short due to the hurricane, but we still got some beach time!

*sorry in advance that some of the photos are grainy --my phone is very old XD

The water was so warm, I'm still baffled! The beaches I visited in California, even in SoCal, were always so frigid cold that I could barely step in the water XD Is that really normal for Florida, if anyone is familiar??

As for the trip there and back, we camped out near Lake Marion in South Carolina, and it was so pretty! So lush and green!!

North Carolina and Virginia were both cloudy, rainy, and windy due to the storm, but they provided some gorgeous views of the Smokies and some connected mountains.

I'd show more of Tennessee, buuuut by then things were a little more chaotic and photos weren't on my mind, heh...

Backtracking a little bit to Florida and the reason we were there in the first place, the concert! AHH, AMAZING!! We got to go to the Hard Rock venue and snag dinner from its cafe. I've never seen such a big collection of rock and metal memorabilia in person! >:D

I got especially excited to see this!! A signed Razorback and drumset from the Abbott brothers -Dimebag Darrell of Pantera and Vinnie Paul of Damage Plan!

There was also art dedicated to some metal legends in the bar area of the venue, including two of my personal favorites here, Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine

And finally, the show! Sanguisugabogg was freaking BRUTAL! Not gonna lie, the pit was a letdown. I was about ready to run down there and start moshing myself >.> Except this one guy in a banana suit (of all things??) who kept at least a little section going. Things also got a little wild with Sanguisugabogg playing "murderball" (throwing a ball around the pit, and whoever keeps it gets a free pick of merch). Very cool!

Image

Though the singer of Kublai Khan wasn't really my taste, they still put on a great show! That bass SHOOK the arena!

Image

Whitechapel was who I was most excited for and they did NOT disappoint!! They played some absolute bangers and put on such an amazing show!! Their light setup was super impressive, especially since many were linked to the drums (and metal drums are WILD, so you can just imagine those things going crazy XDD).

"TO SAVE MY SANITY, FROM THE SOUND OF THIS BLOODSOAKED SYMPHONYYYY!"

"I AM DEMENTIA IN YOUR MIND, CREATOR OF DECISIONS, VIOLENT VISIONS AND LIESSS!"

Image

"WE'VE LEFT OUR HOMES TO INFECT THE WORLD, AND ADDICT YOU ALL TO THIS DEEP SOUTH HEAAAAT!"

And last but not least of course, Lorna Shore! AMAZING! Hearing the Pain Remains trilogy live is like a work of pure art -and no, I totally didn't tear up toward the end, especially when Will Ramos dedicated it to his recently-passed brother... ( ToT)

My brothers' and me were so sore the next morning, and our voices were totally gone. My mom literally had to translate for us when we were talking at some places XDD

Then came the wind and tornado warnings, aaaand that's when things took the turn mentioned beforehand o.O

All in all, it was great! But now I'm just glad to be back in the lil' Kentucky holler with you guys <33 :D

Wow that sounds super super cool!! (Especially cuz I've never gone that many places in my life in such a short time and never been to a concert) Florida does have warm water. I think possibly the entire Gulf part down there does because I had that experience with both Mississippi and Florida when we went there, although Mississippi's water was a little colder.
