1.) How did you discover YWS in the first place? I think I was just Googling writing sites and stumbled across it. I am so glad I did.

2.) When did you discover that you like or appreciate writing? I've always liked storytelling, but I didn't start seriously writing until I was eleven, and then I wrote a novel. Because that's how I roll.

3.) What is the title, form and genre of the first piece you posted at YWS? I'm thinking chapter one of Wakefield Syndrome, a NaNo novel. I posted it the day after I joined, anyway. It was sci-fi.

4.) Do you have a YWS nickname? Some people call me Cas? Not very impressive, I know...

5.) Have you ever been banned in the forums or in chat? No. I am a goody-two-shoes ever since I was banned from this one website. O_O

6.) What genre of literature do you detest the most? Um. Um. Romance, normally? Or realistic YA? Realistic romantic YA? Yeah, that.

7.) How long have you been in YWS? I joined in November of 2010, so two years, going on three?

8.) How many workshops and contests have you participated in at YWS? More than I can properly remember. Most were poetry-related, I think.

9.) Who have been your greatest influences here? I've been influenced by so many people on here it's insane. You are all so brilliant. Of course, I can mention a few people, yes, without anyone feeling left out? The lovely Snoink has influenced my ideas on religion and self; *coco, my lovely writing partner, has taught me patience and I'm sure I have done the same; dogs has helped me improve my writing and remind me I can always move forward; ShadowVyper has helped restore my faith in humanity a bit; and Rosey, Rydia and Alfred are just plain magic.

10.) What is your most favorite section in the forums? Um. Um. Um. Serious Discussion & Debate right now.

11.) Do you remember the first person you've met here? Who? I have no idea, sorry.

12.) What was your worst writer's block? After I wrote the first draft of my first novel, I didn't truly write for a year. I know. Insanity. Then I started writing fanfiction, and I eventually got back around to writing original things.

13.) Have you or your works been featured? Do you want to? Not that I know of, no. But, yes, that would be obviously lovely, but I know there are people who obviously deserve it more than me. I suppose when I write 100 reviews in a week or post the next Great American Novel, I would like the spotlight.

14.) What is the best work you've read here and why? A link would do! Oh my gosh. Really? But, yeah, okay. I will try to answer this. I'll take a peek through my reviews and see... Will post answer later?

15.) Have you met somebody in YWS in real life? Depends on how many people I have convinced to join. Need to consider that. XD

16.) Have you tried reading an article in Squills or Writing Gooder? I write articles for Squills (when my body isn't being spiteful), so, duh, I read all the articles. XD I need to start reading things on Writing Gooder, though.

17.) How many storybooks have you been in? I have no idea. :O I'm currently only trying to be in two.

18.) What book would you like to recommend the most to YWSers? For writing? Either The First Five Pages or On Writing by Stephen King. For reading? Dog Boy or How to Say Goodbye in Robot.

In the third grade, because my teacher was an especially creative one, and without her, I wouldn't be writing today.

2.) Have you ever tried hunting unicorns or sea monsters in YWS? Of course, with little success on unicorns, now sea monsters, those are a different story completely. YWS is filled with them.

3.) Have you tried eating a book before? Yes, unlike Rydia has said, they are a great way to obtain information, besides osmosis.

4.) For you, what's the least favorable forum/section here? SD&D because it almost always ends up to fall to petty arguing between two or more people.

5.) How many grammatical errors have you found in the posts around the forums? How many in this post? There's never perfect grammar. But I'm too lazy to count. *Glares*

1.) How did you discover YWS in the first place?
An article for top 100 websites for writers, or something like that. I was looking for a place to get feedback.

2.) When did you discover that you like or appreciate writing?
Not sure about that...but I think I started writing regularly at about the age of 11. Poetry first, then novels and short stories.

3.) What is the title, form and genre of the first piece you posted at YWS?
"Battling the Bottle," a fictional short story that has since been revised.

Nope.

6.) What genre of literature do you detest the most?
That's tough...I enjoy most things I read. But I guess I could say that I do *not* read erotica or fanfic. It just doesn't interest me. "Detest" is a strong word, though.

Going on three years!

8.) How many workshops and contests have you participated in at YWS?
I think just one workshop (it was recent), I participated in maybe two or three contests, and I hosted two contests.

9.) Who have been your greatest influences here?
Persy, who writes beautiful poetry and has always given me great reviews, and PenguinAttack, who welcomed me back so enthusiastically when I recently posted my first poem after months of basically being absent that I've tried to really get involved with the site again. mikepyro is also an awesome writer; he won one of my contests, if I remember correctly.

10.) What is your most favorite section in the forums?
Well, the one I've used the most is "Will Review for Food." Although I did really enjoy reading this thread (forget the forum) called "You Know You're a Writer When..." Muchos giggles.

11.) Do you remember the first person you've met here? Who?
megsug is the first person I followed, so let's go with that.

12.) What was your worst writer's block?
The beginning of this semester. I'm in a novel-writing class and originally I was going to redraft the novel I did for my first and third Nanos (redrafted once already for my third), but every time I wrote three pages it would come out terrible, so I'd delete it and start over, and then the next three pages would be terrible...

So I just decided to leave that one alone for now and work on my Tumblr story, now titled "The Book Man." (I'll be posting chapters here once the semester is over.)

13.) Have you or your works been featured? Do you want to?
I have not been featured, but I think it'd be pretty cool.

14.) What is the best work you've read here and why? A link would do!
"Train Man" by Ruth. It's flash fiction, and the ending is just...just... BAM. I mean, it just hits you. Like a train. Which is a cliched but appropriate metaphor in this case.

Just Lemikita, but I met her in real life first. Oh, wait, and PurpleEurope is my sister. But neither of them are really active here.

I did read an article on Writing Gooder, which I am now following but have yet to read more of.

Just for fun: Oh, God, so many I could recommend, but I'm currently reading "Beautiful Creatures," which is actually pretty good. Also, anything by John Green. Also, the Artemis Fowl series. Also...

20.) What do you think is the best thing YWS have done to you?
I see we're not using the point system anymore, but even without it so many people give thoughtful reviews and really interact with each other. It's great to have a community online where I feel like I've got friends, even though we've never met in real life. I imagine this is what Tumblr feels like, for people who have been there for years (unlike me, since I just made a Tumblr or three at the beginning of this year).

1.) How did you discover YWS in the first place?

I was twelve and looking for feedback on my rubbish fantasy novel, but I didn't want to be judged by adults. So I typed "Young Writers Society" into google and clicked the first link I saw.

2.) When did you discover that you like or appreciate writing?

When I was about 6 or 7 my house was being done up by builders, so we moved into another, rather dilapidated house for a while. There was nothing to do and I had no computer, so I picked up Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz and found myself immediately and irreversibly hooked.

3.) What is the title, form and genre of the first piece you posted at YWS?

I think it was Ciqton, the first chapter of my part dystopian, part Tolkienite fantasy.

I used to be known amongst my little circle as "CoolEnglishKid". These days people call me Stupid, in a nice way.

Absolutely not.

6.) What genre of literature do you detest the most?

Detest is a strong word... but I don't like Tween pseudo-gothic fiction, as there's very rarely much depth to them. Still, at least it gets the kids reading.

I was here for about a year and a half starting sometimes in 2008, but following that wasn't really active until a couple of weeks ago.

Everything I know about reviewing I learned from watching Snoink back in the day. dragnet helped me with ideas for all my stories and I couldn't have written squat without her input.

Debate and discussion is great, they're always talking about something interesting and they're always tolerant and kind. Disagreeing never leads to flaming.

I haven't met anyone here face to face, but I remember dragnet was the first friend I made here.

3 long, painfully discouraged years. What can I say, secondary school takes a lot out of you.

I'm pretty sure that's never happened. And yeah, if I wrote something I was proud of I'd be happy to see it featured. I doubt that'd happen though, there's real talent around here.

The friends I've made and the things I've learned have been invaluable, even when I wasn't on the site.

Nate posted on a site I was on before about this new site he was starting. Liked it enough to come back again and again.

I mainly wrote for school until I was 14, when I started experimenting with more creative writing than "Dear Diary" type entries.

By accident, actually-- I ran a Google search for websites for young writers.

According to my mom, I've been telling stories since before I knew my alphabet-- and apparently I've been writing them since I could read-- but I only noticed my obsession the fall after I turned 15-- so 2.5 years.

Recently I read 'Fire in the Hole', a compilation of short stories by Elmore Leonard. An excellent read also.

1.) How did you discover YWS in the first place?

A member recommended it to me! And I said I wouldn't join it. Then, he forced me to read his story on YWS, and to read it meant that I had to join it. So I did.

When I was six, I wrote my first picture book! When I was 11, I started my first novel.

Nate posted in a forum I was on in 2004. And then people like Crysi (Sam), Elelel, Tara, and a few others dragged me over here. I actually posted as a guest before I registered, too.

Uh. I can't remember. I have a "book" somewhere that I wrote when I was 5 or 6 or so? I have notebooks full of half-done stories all over. An entire shelf in my closet has notebooks that I've either collected or half-filled with random bits of everything.

A thing that will never again see the light of day. But it was poetry, I'll give you that. Er, I think it was, anyway. It may have been fantasy fiction.

1.) How did you discover YWS in the first place?
Google. I was in creative writing at the time and joined writing.com to improve my writing. But I grew to hate writing.com because if you didn't have money it was virtually useless to you. I used Google to look for another site and then I stumbled across YWS. I've been in love with it ever since.

2.) When did you discover that you like or appreciate writing?
I found my passion in middle school. I hated it before then. It wasn't until my sister and I decided to make up this story about this high school boy and I started to write outside of school that I grew to love it. Unlike most people here I wasn't born with the gift of writing: I worked for it.

3.) What is the title, form and genre of the first piece you posted at YWS?
How I Became King. It was a cute, little poem written in Dr. Suess style. Looking back now it sucks, but at the time I thought it was everything and was super excited for everyone to read and comment on it.

No, but I'm sure I've come close. I stopped posting in some of them because I'm just way too opinionated.

6.) What genre of literature do you detest the most?
Fantasy! It's so hard to find some good teenage fiction that's not fantasy. It's so annoying. However, I do like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and the first book of the Hunger Games.

I want to say three years. I've been here since I was a junior in high school am I'm now a sophomore in college.

No workshops, but I've done a simple user-created contest before and I've also done one of my own.

Snoik! She's so amazing and I'm always looking for her stuff on here. Sadly she's only commented on my work once, but she's definitely an amazing reviewer.

The Lounge. It's nice just to talk about simple things that don't get everyone worked up.

11.) Do you remember the first person you've met here? Who?
ultraviolet. I came back the next day to see a message from her, and I was in shock since I just joined. I think she's commented on some of my work as well, although I don't know her on a personal basis or anything.

12.) What was your worst writer's block?
When I got my new Kindle and didn't do much writing for almost a month. I'm not sure if this was as much as writer's block as it was I was just in a reading mood, but when I did try to write I just couldn't.

Once. I was super excited and spent the next week glowing. It was a short story I wrote based on a dream I once had. It was only featured for a couple hours and only had a handful of likes, but I didn't care. I would love to be featured again.

I remember something I read when I first came here that I literally gloated about in the review. Sadly the girl never saw it because she didn't seem to come back after that, and it was super long, but it was a nice story. Since we no longer have the past review system like we used to I can't link to it.

I wish. However, I had a friend of mine come on here after me and we talked about it at a party once. I later went on to review some of his stuff on here.

None, sadly. I've thought about getting into some, but most of them are fantasy and I just don't think I could have enough dedication to join one. When I write my novels I'm usually jumping back and forth between three of them. That makes it hard to do just one storybook and running off someone else's time rather than your own.

The Kite Runner by KKHALED HOSSEINI. It's a true classic.
