It's the game that's guaranteed to have you arguing with your siblings over the interpretation of the rules. The game where everyone wants to have the dog token. The game that takes absolutely forever to finish. It's Monopoly! Everyone loves Monopoly! And thanks to people in chat encouraging me in ideas that I really shouldn't follow, we're going to see if Monopoly works in a forum! My Monopoly board has 8 tokens, so let's start by saying there are going to be 8 spaces available for this. If you really want to play after those have been filled, drop me a message and I'll take a decision about extending that. Players 1. Cadi 2. Skorpionne 3. noninjaspresent 4. Blues 5. beckiw 6. wordsandwishes 7. Rydia 8. ddman18 9. ShadowVyper 10. FermentingFruit We're also going to play by the rules As Cadi Remembers Them, because that's easier than trying to sift through all our different versions and pick the 'right ones'! So here we go: Rules -- Everyone starts with 1500 points. -- Cadi will be the Site (the Bank in normal Monopoly) (in addition to being a Player). -- Players take turns in the order of the Player List (because that's easiest). -- To take a go, follow the instructions further down the post. -- You get 200 points for passing Go. -- If you land on a property nobody owns, you can buy it from the Site for the number of points written on it. See below for a list of properties. -- If you land on a property owned by another Player, you pay them the number of points marked as their rent value in the Property List below. -- If you land on Chance or Community chest, click here to get a random number between 1 and 13. Then 'pick' that card from the Card List below. So, if you land on Chance, and get 6, you get 50 points because that's what Chance #6 says! -- If you get a card that says you've been banned, or if you land on the Banhammer, you must go straight to the Ban square. -- To be unbanned, either (1) get a double on your roll, (2) use a ban reversal card, or (3) pay 50 points. -- Nothing happens if you land on Chat! -- We're not going to use houses and hotels, because I want to keep this relatively simple >< -- You can sell property to other people at the start of your turn. -- The winner is the last person to run out of points! The Board! So I'll write up what's on there just here: For colour properties, you pay double the stated rent if the person who owns it owns all of that colour group. So, if Cadi owns all of the green properties, and beckew lands on WRFF, beckew pays 20 points to Cadi instead of 10. Orange Registration - Buy for: 50. Rent: 2. Welcome Forum - Buy for: 60. Rent: 4. Yellow The Lounge - Buy for: 100. Rent: 6. Randomosity - Buy for: 100. Rent: 6. In The News - Buy for: 120. Rent: 8. Green WRFF (Will Review For Food) - Buy for: 140. Rent: 10. Ask An Expert - Buy for: 140. Rent: 10. Knowledge Base - Buy for: 160. Rent: 12 Blue Writers Corner - Buy for: 180. Rent: 14. Writing Tips - Buy for: 180. Rent: 14. Writing Activities - Buy for: 200. Rent: 16. Purple NaNoWriMo Forum - Buy for: 220. Rent: 18. Novel Workshop - Buy for: 220. Rent: 18. A&P (Art & Photography) - Buy for: Rent: 20. Pink The People Tab - Buy for: 260. Rent: 22. Crews - like Railway Stations on regular Monopoly, these are 200 points each to buy, and rent is 25 points if you own one, 50 points if you own 2, 75 points if you own 3, and 100 points if you own 4. Gen Lit Poetry Storybooks Resources 'Lit Actions' - these are the Utilities of YWS Monopoly. 150 points to buy, rent is 4 times the roll that made the player land on that square if you own one, and 10 times the roll if you own both! Review Submit Taxes - If you land here, you pay the amount of money stated to the Site. Submit A Work - 100 Gift Day - 200 Chance and Community Chest - if you land on one of these, you 'pick' a 'card', as described in the Rules. Chance are the ones with big question marks on. Community Chest are the ones with badly drawn boxes on. Corner Squares Go - gain 200 points every time you go past this. Banned / Just On Hiatus - if you are banned, go to the Banned square. You can't collect rent while you're here! If you just land here without being banned, you're Just On Hiatus and nothing happens. Chat - nothing happens here! The land of wasted time! You've Been Banhammered - go directly to the Banned square! Chance and Community Chest Cards Chance 1. Advance to Go (Collect 200 points) 2. Advance to Nate's Place. 3. Advance token to nearest Utility (Submit or Review). If unowned, you may buy it from the Site. If owned, throw dice and pay owner a total ten times the amount thrown. 4. Advance token to the nearest Section Crew and pay owner twice the rental to which he/she is otherwise entitled. If it is unowned, you may buy it from the Site. 5. Advance to Ask An Expert – If you pass Go, collect 200 points. 6. The Site pays you 50 points. 7. Ban reversal! – this card may be kept until needed, or traded/sold 8. Go back 3 spaces 9. Immediate ban! – do not pass Go, do not collect 200 points 10. Buy a Gift of 50 points 11. Take a trip to Novel Workshop – if you pass Go collect 200 points 12. Let's see who's in Chat – advance token to Chat 13. You have won a contest - collect 100 points Community Chest 1. Advance to Go (Collect 200 points) 2. Site error in your favor – collect 75 points 3. Buying a gift – Pay 50 points 4. Ban reversal! – This card may be kept until needed, or sold 5. Banhammer! – You have been banned! – Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 points 6. It is your birthday! Collect 10 points from each player 7. Submission refund – collect 20 points 8. You got a gift – collect 100 points 9. Give some gifts - lose 100 points 10. Give a gift - lose 50 points 11. Receive 25 points as a thank you for an awesome review 12. You have won second prize in a contest– collect 10 points 13. You are gifted 100 points Okay, I'm exahusted now. Monopoly has a lot of rules! Don't be too overwhelmed - most of the above stuff you don't need to remember. If you're a player, mostly what you need to be worried about is this: the Your Turn section! [/b] Cadi will post whole-game updates every so often, with every player's stuff-they-own list and which square they are on, so that we stand a better chance of keeping track of it all! I'm expecting this to be very slow-paced - normal Monopoly is hardly speedy, and we're using a forum format - so expect to spend about five minutes on a turn every few days, at most. Hardly demanding, hey? You should join in! So, who wants to play? :D

Just saying, I'm so glad you decided to do this. Now, I'm guessing I'm going last? Also, prepare to lose. I get what I want. Most I ever spent on a property from someone else was 2500. So yeah >: )
