Mount Olympus [8]

Rayah

I look at the ceiling, not being able to hear anyone as whispers course through my brain. I blink once but not anymore, trembling slightly.

Jace

I swallow and look at Jackie again, composing myself, "Find someone. A son of Apollo, Apollo himself, some random nurse off the side of the street, a med student- I don't care. Please find someone."

Rayah

Jackie hesitates, "I'm not leaving her."

I look back at her, the whispers stopping as the water stops sizzling. I look back at Jace and sigh, "Can I go now?"

Jace

I look back at Rayah, "Not yet, baby. Almost."

Looking at Jackie again, I swallow and take a deep breath.

"Then call someone to find a doctor for you," I suggest. "We can't do this on our own. We don't even know what's really wrong."

Rayah

I throw a little fit and get frustrated, "I want to sleep!"

Jackie doesn't hesitate, texting Nic.

Jace

I move a hand behind Rayah's head again and hush her softly, "Shh, Ray. You can sleep. The seats are comfortable enough. Just rest your head back and close your eyes. I'll wake you when we land, okay?"

Nic

Jackie texts me and I stare at the screen for a moment before replying submissively. I bolt out of my dorm and try to find the campus nurse. Finding her, I fill up the sink in their office with water and drop a drachma in. Once it starts shimmering, I grab her wrist and take her with me as I jump through.

Rayah

I cough again, wrapping my arms around my stomach, "I want my bed."

Jace

I hesitate, "We're almost landed. Then you can have your bed. Just close your eyes."

Nic comes bursting in with a freaked-out nurse in tow and the woman looks over Rayah.

Rayah

I close my eyes without hesitation, swallowing as Jackie watches Nic burst in.

Jace

I move over slightly, keeping my hand behind her head, and let the doctor examine her.

Rayah

I move my arms over my stomach again and swallow harder.

Jace

I watch Rayah and keep close, Nic leaning against the doorframe and taking Jackie's hand. The nurse finishes the examination and writes out a prescription, telling us that Rayah would need lots of fluids and rest, but that she shouldn't eat anything solid until her cough dies down.

Rayah

I fall asleep almost immidiatly, tired. Jackie flashes a smile at Nic but keeps her eyes on me, worried and nodding at the nurses prescription.

Jace

I thank the nurse and Nic leads her out. Looking back at Rayah, I move her hair away from her forehead and set my free hand on the side of her face. I don't wanna wake her...but she's gotta get out.

Rayah

Jackie studies Jace, "I wouldn't if I were you."
