Haven't done one of these for a while, so without further ado...

Kinda amazing that IE has sunk to number 4. I remember when it captured 70% of visitors.

No idea how Reddit made the list, but maybe we should create a subreddit for YWS if there's enough YWSers on it? Probably should create a YWS Tumblr as well.

Additionally, about 12% of all site visits are from mobile devices. What's kinda neat is that mobile visitors are actually more active on average than desktop visitors, which is not at all what I expected. Should probably optimize at least the user bar for mobile.

Avg. Duration of Visit: 13 minutes, 41 seconds
Pages per visit: 10 (steadily increasing now)
Pageviews for last 30 days: 384,000 (increasing quickly... it was 323,000 just a few days ago)
Visits: 36,105

Search Query Awards:

'Most curious' search query: "why upenn" YWS is somehow the fourth highest ranked site for this search query

'Uh... beats us' search query award goes to: "the molecules in an ideal gas at have a root-mean-square (rms) speed . at what temperature (in degrees celsius) will the molecules have twice the rms speed, ?"

And the 'why didn't you just type that into the address bar?' search query award goes to: "www.youngwriterssociety.com" (I mean... come on. This is the top search query.)


Overall
Some genuine surprises here. Chrome is now 40% of all traffic, mobile visitors are more active, and both Tumblr & Reddit send us many more times traffic than Twitter.

Also, activity is clearly on an upswing, and a rapid one at that.

I love these little data charts far too much. It's cool to see where everything comes from.

On the cities, is it just the frequency the site is checked from that particular city, or do they not count when the same people access it twice in the same day? (This may be a silly question, but I don't know the answer! XD)

I'm a little surprised the visit duration is so small. How much does the average chatdweller influence that?

Yay, UK! Yay, London! Yay, Firefox! Yay Reddit? Seriously struggle to link Reddit and YWS mentally, but hey.

I'm tempted to start coming to YWS solely by googling 'why upenn'... though I did have to google it to work out what on earth it meant.

Reddit and YWS seem to have somewhat similar userbases in ways, so not too surprising, but some of the referral traffic might have to do with this subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/HighSchoolWriters YWS is a link on the sidebar, at the bottom.

The best part of this is I am now probably close enough to London to be contributing to those stats. So cool.

Also, I use YWS often on my phone when not reviewing.

And that is clearly a sign telling me to go to UPenn. CLEARLY.
