Okay; reporting a minor bug that has been annoying me to no end >>

Operating System: Windows XP.

Browser: Mozilla (latest version).

Time: It's been happening for a few weeks (that I remember -possibly longer).

Specifics:

At 3:05 this afternoon I was online and Griffinclaw commented after a comment I had made on VeerenVKS's wall. A few minutes later Ary commented after Griffinclaw.

A moment later I check my notifications and got this:
Error report.png
Error report.png (21.28 KiB) Viewed 415 times
As you can see, YWS says that Ary and Griffinclaw commented after my comment FIVE TIMES. However, if you'll look at this:
Error report 2..png
Error report 2..png (11.88 KiB) Viewed 415 times
you'll see that they only really posted ONCE EACH.

I'd assume that YWS has multiple ways of notifying you of these replies, or there's an error. Whichever. Because of just these few things, I ended up with 14 notifications when I should have only had six (I had over 500 earlier), and it's annoying (plus -YWS'll be better without the problem).

H-hello, this isn't a big problem and I don't want to waste your time if it's just me, but I just wanted to post this here in case others have been having the same problem...
I'm on the latest Google Chrome
This has been going on for the past few days.
Windows 8.
My problem is that my messages just sit in my outbox for long periods of time.. It's kind of causing a problem for me when there's things that need to be said to people and this is my only way to contact them >.<

K, that's not a bug c:

The messages are in your Outbox folder for as long as the person they were sent to hasn't read them. As they do, those messages show in your Sent Messages folder ^^

Hi I seem to have encountered a bug as well.

Every time I go into my profile: Gear tab> Profile tab> Edit portfolio, I can't seem to delete a portfolio or access it because it has no name.

It happens on all my browers, be it on mac or pc, so I think it's a site issue.
People ask me what I do in life. I could tell them I create worlds, smash planets, create characters and make them fall in love with each other.

Or I could tell them I'm an author.

Aquila, I have no problem getting to mine, so I'm guessing it's not a site issue. It looks like you have named folders so you should be able to see those. If you see a specific error message, you should copy-paste it so it will be more useful.

I was going to report a different portfolio issue...A while back, I accidentally made a new untitled folder and put two poems in it. Now, on the other folders, I can click on the name to move the works inside, but on this one, I can't, because it has no name. Screenshot is attached. Is there a way to edit the contents of an untitled folder?

I'm using Windows 7, Google Chrome.

Yep, I accidentally made a portfolio folder that remained untitled so I also can't edit or delete it because there is no title to click on and access it.

Hey I am currently in America rather than the UK so this problem isnt occurring right now. But when I'm at home I can't access the site. I've checked the backup site multiple times but no one else has this problem. When I'm not at home my phone/laptop whatever let me on. Same in school. But it's only at home on all my devices when it takes forever to load the site then tells me it couldnt load it. I'm guessing this has something to do with my wifi? Should I reset it when I get home? Or what other suggestions does anyone have?

I would suggest resetting your wifi. And clearing cookies/your cache. Also try accessing from multiple browsers and locations.

Okay, so I was flipping through my inbox this morning, opened a message . . . but it displayed this instead of the message:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction [1213]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator immediately at webmaster@youngwriterssociety.com with a copy of this error message. Do not hesitate, but please be nice!

Not sure who asked, but I figured someone here would know who the board administrator is on here?. . .

That's Nate, you're making him aware by posting here.

Could you add the time, browser and such for him here please. :)

I think the formatting issue I brought up is going unnoticed but I am seeing many poetry works that have double spaces and it is driving me nuts! The thing is, it is pretty difficult to make a work of poetry single spaced because the submission box likes to take random formatting instead of the formatting on your clipboard. You cannot simple backspace and hit enter to make it singled space because it goes back to double-space and you have to hit the html editor and delete the random <p> tags and add <br>. And that is the only way to do it. Not only does this happen when you submit them but recently all my works are starting to have double spaces instead of single spaces. I am not sure when this started happening but I think it was about the time the paste box was taken out.

If you want to see my specific system requirement it is on the previous page. I felt the need to bring attention to this again @Nate sorry if I am being too much of a burden, I just think it is hurting the integrity of many poems.

For example;
I Once Believed
The Power of the Sea
Dance

Going down the list of poetry these are 3 out of the 6 works that now have double spaces instead of single and I don't think it is how they intend it to be because the double spaces in poetry usually makes no sense and not many people use to use it before.

Thanks.

Regarding problems with the publishing center, I'm going to take the opportunity on Sunday when it's disabled to fix many of the issues.

On inaccessibility in the UK, I have no idea what's going on, but it's been happening to more than one person. It's not YWS since the website is accessible everywhere else but one small region in the UK, so I think it's a weird local network issue. A network issue can happen for any number of reasons, and it'll usually only affect a very small subset of websites.

Deadlock found when trying to get lock

That's an unusual error message to say the least. But as long it happens only once, nothing to worry about.
