Hey Nate. My chatbar hasn't been working for a while now- I'm using both Chrome and Mozilla Firefox on Windows 7 but no luck. Essentially- I see someone has messaged me but when I try to open the message I can't. And I can't start a conversation either- their name just appears on the bar and again I can't open the box.

Is there a quickfix to this that I've just stupidly missed out on?

EDIT- IMMEDIATELY after I posted this it started working again. I do not know why. That's always the way of it. Only working on Mozilla, not on Chrome, and only on one tab seemingly but hey whatever.

My chat won't open only when I'm zoomed too far out.

BlackNether, you have to be specific. Which chat? The chatbar or chatroom? What browser are you using? Are you on mobile?

In any case, it's likely that there's nothing I can do. The chat programs are third-party programs.

Oh, O.o, I was kinda replying to Stella that that might be her problem.

The problem's small enough for me that I can ignore it.

When I'm on my laptop and zoomed out anything beyond eight clicks, I can't open the chat bar . . .

I wouldn't bet this is a site bug, because I haven't seen anyone else having problems with it, but I figured to report it anyway.

I can't post long statuses, not even long-ish. Now, I'd think there's some kind of word/character limit, but I see some people posting stories or lyrics as statuses, and those are always way longer than whatever it is I wish to write.

The one I was trying to post was 137 words long, so not a whole novel, and it has happened to me before :/
I tried with no enters, like just block of text, and nothing changed. I couldn't post more than 51 words, to be precise, 292 characters.

I find it really strange, and have no idea what to do ._. I get the red "Comment submission failed!" message.

Also, when I post anything else as a status, and try to write the same long(ish) thing as a comment, I get blank comment instead. Both of the things happen regardless if I try it from People tab or my profile, and no matter how many times I try.

If there is something I can do, like making some change in my settings or whatever, pray tell.

That's an odd issue, Aria. There is no character limit on statuses, so it seems like if it would work for 292 characters, then it should also work for 293 characters!

After researching the issue, I now know a lot more about ajax problems on the iPad than I ever did before. I still don't know what's specifically causing the issue, but I do think I know how to get rid of it. Unfortunately, it's going to take a bit of time to put the fix in place. As soon as I do, I'll let you know so that you can test it out.

Every comment I post is getting cloned. At the top of the page, there's a big computer automated message about some kind of bug. Then why I look, I realize I have posted accidental comments.

Ariana, please include your browser information and what kind of computer you are accessing YWS from. If you're getting an error message, then write down what that error message is saying.

I tried to access the YWS Team page, and I came up with this error:

"Fatal error: Class 'bbcode' not found in /home/ywsfred/public/youngwriterssociety.com/public/theteam.php on line 167"

I don't know if this is a bug or what, but I just wanted to tell you.
