So, new.php has been timing out recently, with
Code: Select all
"Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/ywsfred/public/youngwriterssociety.com/public/new.php on line 97"

So, I was going to try to get in touch with whoever that php developer is using the Contact Us link, but THAT DOESN'T WORK EITHER! I get
Code: Select all
"Fatal error: Class 'bbcode' not found in /home/ywsfred/public/youngwriterssociety.com/public/contact.php on line 143"

Same error with the about page.

I really appreciate the parts of this site that works, but I hope this gets fixed soon. ^_^

Hi darklink, we really also need the rough time it happened and your browser/version if you can please. The more details we have about any bugs, the more likely it is we can get them fixed.

I've fixed the "Class bbcode not found" error so new.php is accessible again, but it's really weird you got the "Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded" error. That error should not have happened.

As PA said, is it possible you could share your browser info as well as how you were accessing the site (for example, through a mobile device or through a PC)?

Nate, I'm also having this problem. What I normally do is I write my work on the Notepad app, copy, and paste it into the submission box, because that's easier for me. (Plus no laptop or computer, just an e-reader and iPhone).

Is there any way you can fix this, please?

I'm just thinking this might be a great time to say that the copy-pasting into the submission box works fine for me (Windows 7- Mozilla FireFox (latest ed.).

Hey, I logged in today and I went to submit something I wrote. I did all of the following; I copied it to notepad, made sure the formatting was correct, recopied it, pasted it and they had all double spaced without any formatting on my clipboard.. I had to click the HTML view thing and get rid of all the paragraph tags just to put line breaks in each line.

Now I have 6 page poems, this would be a HUGE pain to submit them. I also looked at my other work and they are now formatted weird.. I know alot of poets have line breaks at certain places for a reason so I don't quite know the reasoning for this.. any help?

This could possibly be a bug everywhere?

ADDITONAL INFORMATION-

- Include your browser and version.
Chrome Version 28.0.1500.72 m
- Time problem occurred.
Today, Wensday, July 17th 12:41 AM Eastern
- A detailed description of what happened. What section were you on? What were you doing? What were you trying to do?
I made sure there was no formatting on my clipboard by pasting my poem into notepad and coping that text and then I pasted it and they all had line breaks. I also see another one of my poems having line breaks suddenly and I never even edited it Nightmare maybe Reality .

The one I just submitted:

For those having problems on mobile devices, I'll go ahead and offer a basic text editor like you have in the forums in addition to the full featured one. That may also help with the submission of some poems as well.

Just a heads up that it may take a few days before I'm able to add it in, but I'll make sure to go ahead and provide that option.

Nate, when I go to the userlist, I can't search alphabetically. It's been going on for a while now, I've just neglected to report it...

Same here (I went to check as I saw this report, out of curiosity).
The embarassed monkey appears. Which is kind of adorable, admittedly, but I guess the person searching would prefer to see the users whose letter I picked instead :P

I'm on iPad, also Chrome. I don't use this feature very often (and hence don't see it as the most pressing issue), but it does come in handy on occasions, and I suppose others might be using it more than myself..

So the CometChat bar is acting up for some reason, and when I click on someone's name in the pop out list, their mini window appears on the bar like usual, but there are little buttons of arrows on either side that don't do anything and when I click on the window, it doesn't pop open. The same thing happens when someone messages me. If you have more than one window open at a time, only one is visible on the bar and one opens sporadically.

Does anyone know if this is this a problem with the bar or is it my internet/computer or something.

Hey @CowLogic,

The arrows typically appear when your zoom has been changed. Check to make sure that your browser is set to 100% or default zoom (if you have a laptop, use the touchpad to "stretch" [place two fingers on the pad close together and drag them apart to zoom or place apart and push together to zoom]; if you have a desktop with a mouse, hold down ctrl/command and scroll with your mouse). A little magnifying glass appears in the right corner of the search bar when a chrome page is zoomed in or out. Try resetting it, and let me know if that helps.
