I use Chrome too. Everything's actually fine, now. It was just down from when I logged in the first time this afternoon (like 2) until about an hour ago.

AriaAdams wrote:Guys. Notifications are NOT messed up. Not really. It works, at least for me, like this.

Say someone posts in The Adventure Chronicles DT. I get a notification for that. Every time someone posts there again, the notifications get bolded and white and it tells me the number of new posts, but if I've been noticed that someone has posted in that DT, it will not say it again and again - the one that was there the first time will still be there for me to click.
Same goes for everything else.
The only, and relatively minor, problem is that, if you have a lot of places you get notifications for, you can't really tell what are the new notifications about. But not even opening stuff in new tabs is that hard.

Did that make sense, said like this?

Thankyou, but I didn't get it properly, could someone or you tell it in a more easy way?

Basically, what she is saying is that the number of notifications are actually the amount that you have. For forums, though, it will only be posted one time on the notifications tab, as opposed to people spamming messages on your wall, which will notify each and every time they post on your wall or reply to a message on your wall etc.

As said before, the number of notifications on the black bar at the top of your screen is the number of notifications you have, but if most of them are in or some forums, like storybooks, it will only show it once instead of every response, so it doesn't clutter up the notifications tab too much.

Understand now?

Also, for me, i just open every notification in a new tab and then clear all the notifications, so it won't confuse me the next time I look at them to see which is new and which isn't.

This has nothing to do with bugs, but... How didn't I think of that?

Curse Fahrvergnugen! I used it once in a critique (yes, I'm that crazy), but it only deleted the whole review! I mean, once I clicked the 'Submit' button, everything just vanished. The place where my review should be displayed this:

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/functions.php on line 35: htmlspecialchars(): Invalid multibyte sequence in argument

I'm not entirely sure if the Fahrvergnugen thing is the problem, but I experimented with a lot, and all seems to point out to that.
Need some feed? Then read some! Take a look at today's Squills at In the News.

If this is the Fahrvergnugen, then I am sorry but if it is an error, I can relate,

Code
[ROOT]/includes/functions.php on line 35: htmlspecialchars(): Invalid multibyte sequence in argument

[ROOT] is the root of the server and 'includes' is a folder in phpBB folder (In YWS case, I think, it is in the 'root' folder and 'functions' is a php page and according to my experience, it is a error in the coding.

Then Again, maybe.

I am just trying to help if I can

Bottom chat is gone again.

Unable to post anything on anyone's walls again.

"Add reply" button on the bottom of a thread is gone.

Unable to post on my own walls. Unable to "like" or "unlike" status updates.

Since this morning, unable to send PMs. Getting a "Connection timed out" error.

Updated Java; rolled Java from 7 back to 6. Cleared everything in history, reinstalled Firefox, installed Chrome to try different browsers; tried IE for kicks. Nothing works. Tried different computer, my laptop: all of the above problems, plus PHP chat doesn't work.

The site is currently unusable.

CarbonCore ->> It sounds like a network issue. Unfortunately, there isn't really much that can be done about it. What's happening is that for whatever reason, there's a bad connection somewhere between your computer and the YWS server. You can try resetting your router and see if that works, but that's about all that can be done.

Alfred ->> Odd. I'll check it out.

Okay so it is currently 8:30 PM PST. My browser is google chrome, my computer is a macbook air and my operating system is OS X 10.8.3
Whenever I go onto my wall and try to update my status, I am able to write my post in the box but whenever I try to click post, the box just turns grey and does nothing. I have tried restarting my browser but it still will not work for me.

May I make a suggestion? Let the page load first and then use anything that requires javascript like like and reply and all.

If it still not work, check your connection.

@AlfredSymon-> did you use any accents or specialised characters in that post?

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/functions.php on line 35: htmlspecialchars(): Invalid multibyte sequence in argument

It's shown me that before but only when I wanted to use my lovely french accents in a nice french word. So maybe look at that? (I realised that it was my accents from the htmlspecialchars...)

This occurs on both Mozilla and Chrome.

On the "People" tab, I cannot like, view likes, reply or view replies on statuses. Nor can I do this on my own profile. The "Quick Reply" at the bottom of forum pages is also gone, as is the chat bar. These two latter have happened to me before but I've always associated it with a slow connection.

EDIT- I see you said to cC that it really is a connection problem. Grand so!

Isn't there a way to fix the thing with seeing people's posts? I know I'm not the only one having troubles with that - and with all the SBs and other forums I follow, it's a really really useful and needed feature to have in working order ;n;
