Nic

I flash back to the hospital and crouch behind Jackie, whispering in her ear, "I-I... He's gone, baby. He's gone. I-I..."

I give up on words and show her the note, hating the fact that it's not even his own handwriting. Someone else was involved...

Jackie

I swallow and read the note, taking my head in my hands before looking at Rayah, "Ray?"

She opens her eyes, trying to sit up but failing. She coughs and feels her neck before speaking, "Yeah?"

I sigh, "Jace...Jace is gone."

She swallows and nods slowly, claiming her eyes and laying back down. Her breathing stops again and I palen. Rayah...

Nic

I swallow and watch her, thinking about those kids, "S-someone took him. It wasn't 'cause of what happened, I promise. I-I'm blocked from flashing to him though..."

Jackie

I swallow and Rayah winces before putting her hands over her stomach again, "Find him," She demands, "Now, or I'll go ape sh*t on your a*s when I get better. You should've f*cking stayed with him."

I sigh and set a hand on her stomach, "Sh. Your hurting the baby."

She slaps my hand away and Opens her eyes, "F*ck off."

I swallow again and she shakes her head at me before closing her eyes again.

Nic

I swallow and look at Jackie before glancing back at her, "I-I can't flash to him, Ray. I don't think he's even in Olympus anymore. If he is... he's being guarded by a very powerful being. I don't know how to get to him."

Jackie

Rayah shrugs, "I don't give a sh*t, Nic. Find him, or I'll do very bad stuff to you. I might even hurt Jackie, and you can say goodbye to your perfect little baby. Now go," She says, "If you don't find him, that's what'll happen."

I swallow and wrap my arms around my stomach.

Nic

I tighten my jaw. Touch her or my kid, and I swear to all things holy that I will make you pay for it. I stand and kiss Jackie's forehead before storming out of the room, slamming the door behind me.

Jackie

I take a deep breath, "You were a little harsh..."

She kicks me in the stomach and I cough, moaning.

Nic

I fist my hair before heading off to Jace's cavern again, looking around for any sign of where he might have been taken to.

Jackie

She does it again and I start crying, "Stop! Your hurting her!"

She shrugs, "Your hurting me!"

I shake my head and sigh.

Nic

I close my eyes and set a hand on the rock where he'd been sitting, trying to do what I had triggered once before. Images fly through my mind but none are as present as I need them to be.

Jackie

She does it once more and I drop to the ground, eyes closing.

Nic

I grimace and feel my stomach, a foreign pain shooting through my stomach. I stop and flash back to the hospital, finding Jackie on the floor in pain.

"What the hell did you do?!" I drop beside her, looking at Rayah.

Jackie

I moan and wrap my arms around my stomach, crying.

"she kept on talking to me," Rayah shrugs.

Nic

I take Jackie in my arms.

"You need to grow up!" I tell Rayah, "Just 'cause people don't do what you want them to, doesn't mean you need to lash out! She's the closest thing you have to family other than Jace and those kids! Learn to respect people! Hurting them just pushes them away, and you definitely are super close to losing everyone right now!"
