I study Nic, "But I'm still afraid it'll happen..."

Nic

I kiss her forehead, "I am too. We always will be. But if we let that control us... who will we be?"

Jackie

I shake my hand, "Just...I don't want to. I don't want to suffer like this, of be depressed again if it does happen."

Nic

But what about all those plans? Kids running around our feet? All those dreams? I swallow and don't know what more to say, tired of trying to convince her otherwise.

Jackie

I just flash back home and sit on the couch, taking my face in my hands.

Nic

I follow and sit at her side, stroking her hair back, "I... if that's what you want, Jacks."

Jackie

I sigh, "I want kids...but I'm afraid of losing them.

Nic

"Isn't every parent?" I flash a nervous smile before losing it.

Jackie

I nod, "I guess..."

Nic

I kiss her forehead and hug her, "Don't make a decision right now. Let's just see, Jackie. Let's take care of here and now and worry about the future when we figure out the present."

Jackie

I nod and rest my chin on his shoulder, "And you just got back."

Nic

I nod, "I did. I have three years of catching up to do."

Jackie

I smile, "Yes...yes you do. Lots of years worth of kisses..."

NIc

I smile back and take her face in my hands, wiping her eyes once more, "We can get started on that whenever you want. You've got catching up to do in that category too."
