And that paper will be the end of my brother... I kiss the top of Jackie's head and hold her close, "Don't listen to her. She needed to tell him. He would have found out eventually and would have taken it worse than he did. Then there wouldn't even be a need for a divorce. He'd be at the bottom of the ocean or something..."

Jackie

I shake my head, my eyes watering, "That made me feel much better..." I mutter, "And she will do it. I know she will. Or she'll kill herself. I know her better then Jae does."

Nic

I curse myself mentally, trying to figure out the right thing to say, "I-I'm sorry, Jacks. I'm no good at this stuff. I-I just... She'll do what?"

Jackie

"She'll kill herself for doing something that bad. The guilt will be too much for her," I swallow.

Nic

I think, hating how much I lacked in this category, "W-what do we do then?"

Jackie

I shrug, "I-I don't know. Lets..just go to sleep. It's late."

Nic

I hesitate before nodding, scooping her up and carrying her upstairs. Lying down, I keep a link open in my mind for Jace, on the lookout for any threatening thoughts. Can't lose him. His wife would go with and those kids would be on their own. Can't do that to them.

Jackie

I text Rayah before falling asleep, no answer.

Nic

My worried thoughts turn to nightmares as I close my eyes, embellishing my fears.

Jackie

I wake in the morning, checking my phone for any texts from Rayah

Finding none, I tune on the news in bed and try not to wake Nic, listening.

"This girl has just been found in..." the news reporter says, Rayah's face on the screen. No.

I text Jace and sit up, swallowing and trying to control myself, Have you seen Ray? I text him.

Nic

I stir before waking, hearing the t.v. on. Sitting up, I rub my eyes and find Rayah's face on the screen. Without a word, I look at Jackie and look at her phone to find her texting Jace. I get up and change, shaking my head at what I fear he might do now.

"Please tell me that's a hoax," I point to the t.v., "J-Jae's gonna... Please tell me that's not what really happened."

Jackie

I swallow and shrug, standing, "She's in the hospital...held on the life thingy. I'mma go see her."

Nic

I compose myself and nod, "I'm going to find Jace. I... If he's not there, he's going to do something stupid."

Jackie

I nod and walk downstairs, "Meet you there."

Nic

I follow her and nod, flashing to Jace's presence.
