Kirby

When Erina asked Kirby to come with her, it seemed to him as though he was floating up off the ground. "Erina," he said, beginning to laugh, "you have no idea what I would give to leave all that behind." He reached forward and grabbed her hand, his smile so wide that it was starting to make his face sore.

Erina led Kirby down the street, still holding his hand. After a while, she looked over and smiled at him. "How's your head now?" she asked.

"Much better, thanks," Kirby replied, chuckling a little. He paused, and then laughed again. "If Garnet finds me, she's going to flay me."

"Then we'll make sure she doesn't find you," Erina said. She leaned over and kissed him again, and then continued down the road.

2 things, you lack her Southern accent, and there is no way in the dark pit that she would be that mushy. We'll play with it for now though.

Gwendolyn Ekaterina | Mercury's Office

He's not gunna shock me? Huh, I thought he kinda enjoyed it. Last time, I couldn't help but jump. I hugged him back, a little bit confused. Must be lonely being the leader of a rebellion. Being the leader of just about anything, now that I think of it. "Uhh, sir, you need ta start thinkin', er else you'll be shockin' me on accident, and those tend to be a bit harder than on purpose," I tell him, breaking out of the hug.

"Now than, Gwendolyn Ekaterina, reportin' fer duty, as ordered," I say saluting. With the other hand I plop my bag on the counter, "Yer apples, also as ordered, sir," I add. Still saluting, I stand up straight. "Sir, yer desk is as messy as always and you look like you skipped breakfast. Again. An on top of that, you ticked off Morgan," she says, "An' ya look like yah still haven't slept. Sir, to say the least, ya look like you've been through a dungeon, an then became a potted plant. A withered potted plant. An' ya need ta wash yerself. Honestly, sir, how are ya ever gunna get the second figurehead a the resistance if ya don't even take care a yerself! Are ALL the boys in the resistance stubborn-headed idiots determined ta work themselves inta the ground an wither away with sickness an' hunger! Darn you people!" she says, throwing her hat on the ground, "Y'all are lucky ya mad it this far without catchin' the sleepin' sickness, er the runs!"

Erina

Erina felt like she was walking on water when Kirby agreed to come with her. After all this time he finally knew how she felt and accepted her. She couldn't be happier even if they would probably be captured and then hanged in a matter of days. Nothing else mattered other than Kirby was with her. She held his hand and guided him along the road that lead to the Resistance HQ. They didn't talk but the silence was not at all awkward. In Erina's head she was singing, he likes me, he likes me, oh he really really likes me. They were at the entrance when reality hit her. We are worried about a spy, we are going to be invaded in less than a month and I'm bringing the son of out dictator to become a part of the resistance. Mercury is just going to love this one.

Aw, really? No mushy-ness? Well, I can live with that :D

Mercury / Resistance HQ

Gwen broke out of my hug, and then she filled me in on all the tings I needed to know. She seemed a might angry, but of course I'm insane; so I wasn't gonna judge her.

Hmmm, usually the hug and the sincere apology fixes things real quickly. It's usually the kicker, but it seems this has made her even more angry.

--- Note to self, don't try and use the hug on Morgan. May result in severe punishment...

Darn you people!" she says, throwing her hat on the ground,

"Y'all are lucky ya made it this far without catchin' the sleepin' sickness, er the runs!" she finishes.

"Um, for starters. I do wash myself, and I do eat. Sometimes I even nap!" I shudder to even think of sleeping,

"And just because I make it look like I'm always watchful for the Resistance, doesn't mean I'm gonna turn into a plant! That's pretty damn impossible. Now, if you're quite done yelling at the leader of the very resistance you work for, I would suggest you leave..." I finish.

She lets out a huff, picks up her hat, and walks out. Mumbling under her breath.

I sit down, waiting for the day to begin again. And just when I think sun will rise and the next day is coming, another shadow comes through the door. Erina,

and she's brought company!

I get up to see who it is.

"Erina! Who've you brought! Is it a bo-" I see his face and jump,

By the gods, she's brought the god damn prince!

"Stay back!" I say, a ball of lightning in my hand.

"Mercury! It's alright! Kirby has come to join us..." she says.

I withdraw the lightning, and stand straight up again.

Someone has explaining to do...

Gwendolyn Ekertina | Resistance HQ to Home

"Insane. A coffee isn't breakfast. A coffee, an' some food is breakfast. An you don't count it as nothin' when it's this early. By th' time I get home, I'll have ta turn 'round an come back. Sometimes, this gig's a pain. An when people don't take care a themselves I worry," she mumbles to herself. She blushes and kicks the ground, "Worried about the guy who shocks ya'. Heh, my dad always said I was too loyal. I don't mind it too much, I guess. It just, feels weird, 's all. 'sides, he needs a girl, an' he ain't gunna get one if he doesn't take care a' 'imself. That man pro'lly worries me the most since I came to th' city. Ugh, why does he have ta be so stubborn. I'so infuriatin'," she continues to herself.

She gets home about 2 am, sighing. That was the definition of a long day, and it was all men related. All the men in this town are determined to work ta death. Let's hope not all th' woman are to, eh? she thinks to her mirror. She brushes her teeth quickly, and takes a quick bath. She then steps outside and tells each of her trees, "G'night! An behave yerselves, ya hear?" and then, finnally, she lies down in her bed. Sighing with contentment, she closes her eyes and begins dreaming of a place where men listend to her and didn't try to kill themselves my not taking care of themselves, or working to hard. She did this smiling.

Garnet

The troopes marched as her father died, her father just before being killed by Garnet ordered the rebels to be brought before him for execution. Garnet stood over her fathers dead body, the knife in her hand dripped blood as she chuckled to herself as her eyes were dilated to pure white. The voice she kept hearing, the blood she had spilled her father was dead, Garnet slowly walked out of the room and down the stairs as she continued to chuckle evily to herself. Soon she sat down on her fathers throne where her father once resided, inside Garnet was crying tears for her now dead father. Outside the demon that controlled her father had taken control because of the continuous ebbing of her will power, Garnet for so long had fought against the demon holding the voices to herself. No one ever suspected that something was wrong.

But now, Garnet was to little to late. As she was sealed inside of her own body and the demon took control of her body, her blank eyes betrayed the demon as anyone who looked into her eyes would see that something was wrong with Garnet. Now Garnet sat on the throne crying for someone to rescue her, crying for a hero. As the demon laughed waiting for the rebels, time in the castle had all but stopped. Now Rebels, come, come and fight Garnet for now she has the power of her father, can you stand to her and her fathers power?

"Well done Garnet, you have the throne. Unfortunely you loss in the end!" The demon said to her quietly.

Jormungandr "Jake" Ashtaroth

I fiddled in my lab, neon lights pulsing. I had done it! My magnum opus was complete. I held up the result of so many year's work in a trembling hand: a glowing, multi-faceted purple cube. I had to rush things near the end, curse those pathetic little rebels. Nevertheless, the plan had gone off without a hitch.

The door swung open. I turned around, and saw Garnet making her way forward, picking distastefully amongst the piles of mechanical junk and assorted tools.

I stumbled towards her, smiling. She must have seen something in my expression, because her eyes widened slightly.

I grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her. "It's complete!" I exclaimed. "Done, finished, accomplished! Don't you see?!"

"You're insane," Garnet rasped. Her voice was different, raspier. "I think it's time I took over. You've grown lax, old man."

I ignored this, euphoric at my success. "I've completed the Soul-Stone. The epic culmination of magic and science combined! I AM A GOD!!"

I threw back my head and laughed.

"Wha -- this -- impossible..."

I looked down, something in the way Garnet was acting finally ringing a few alarm bells. Only then did I realize she had a knife in her hand.

"You will never manage to master the Soul-Stone," Garnet -- or was it really her -- stated. "I won't allow it!"

The knife slashed upwards.

A small side-door clicked open.

Will, former spymaster of His Majesty Jormungandr, hurried out of the palace kitchens, wrapped in a dark cloak. Jormungandr was dead, murdered by his daughter. He had no intention of ruling under that brat. Many agreed with him. He knew the rebels were growing stronger, but he no longer cared. This was now a doomed country, and he wouldn't be involved in the massive crash. His Majesty's Royal Guard had disintegrated on the spot after their master's death, so there went the kingdom's primary military unit. All the families that dealt with the Crown had fled, now that Jake's shadow didn't loom over them, so there went primary economic resources...

Will increased his pace.

Some time later (around when the battle against the rebel is at its pitch)

Water dripped off of metallic stalactites, the sound echoing in the enormous room. Insect-like monstrosities scuttled around, clustering next to some sort of wire frame, from which a massive metallic body hung. Multicolored lights flitted around the thing, sparks flying.

At the apex of the frame, a single purple cube glowed, bathing the area in its baleful light.

Soon, Aradia would know wrath like none other. Soon.

Sorry this is so late. My computer has been in the shop.

Anaki Shadowflame

Another blasted conversation held in whispers. I couldn't hear very much of it. Suddenly Mercury looked at me.

"You know I've never been able to stay mad at anyone for very long, so whatever it was you were doing before you screwed up and I put you on janitorial, you may resume that again. But one more slip up, and I'll end you. Do you understand? He said, as he snapped his fingers, sending a tiny spit of electricity."

My eyes were wide, I knew, but I couldn't help it. I nodded, unsure of what to say. Finally I settled on a hasty, "Thank you, sir."

"You're dismissed."

I quickly exited the room, not taking any chance of Mercury changing his mind and putting me back on pushing that blasted brom. I bumped into the boy Morgan had brought with him.

I leapt back, gasping, I command a tiny ball of fire; my ball bounced off the hallway wall, and, sparking, extinguished itself on the floor. I sighed. I knew abnormals weren't supposed to be able to steal my magic, but I had to check.

"A-are you alright?" He asked.

I nodded, "Yep, I'm good. Thanks."

I hope that didn't sound too snobbish. Did that 'thanks' come out sarcastic? I shouldn't have said it. People always assume I'm being sarcastic...well, I suppose I usually am...but this boy seems nice.

"Um, good."

I nodded again. This was awkward.

"So, um, are you-I mean-so you're an abnormal?" I covered my mouth, horrified. Open mouth, insert foot, as always. "I'm sorry. I-I-I- meant...I'm Anaki."

The boy hesitated, but, graciously, let my comment pass, "I'm Alem."

I nodded, still embarassed. I had to get away from him. I was getting angry with myself for being so stupid, and bad things happened when I got angry.

"Cool...So, um, I've gotta go. But it was nice to meet you."

I sprinted off down the hallway before he could respond. I heard him call something after me, but I couldn't understand what he said. I ran outside, and continued running until I was in town.

I stopped in the dimly lit streets, and slowly began strolling about. I felt better now.

I glanced around. There was a guard a few yards from me, stomping towards me, sword in hand.

I leapt backwards, into something hard; massive arms wrapped around me. I drove my elbows into cold metal.

"Ack! What's going on? Unhand me!"

"Hah! We got her!" The soldier holding me bragged.

"What's going on? Dammit!" I demanded, as I squirmed in his arms.

"Oh, this one's feisty! Queen Garnet will be pleased with her delivery."

"Queen? Wait...my...? What the hell are you talking about?"

Shut up, Rebel scum! The soldier in front of me sneered, as he slapped me.

I inhaled sharply, a streak of anger flashing through my body. I had to stay calm. I couldn't set the town ablaze.

"What are you talking about?"

"I said shut up!" the soldier slapped me again, "Damn Rebel."

I took another breath.

"I am not a Rebel, but I would appreciate it if you stopped touching me. Both of ya'll."

"Hah! Don't even try that crap with me. I know you're a Rebel."

"And?"

"And you're going to the palace with us."

"Why?"

"Queen Garnet ordered it."

I'll have to investigate this whole 'Queen' business...but not now.

"On what grounds?"

"None of yer business. All you'd best worry about is getting right with your God, whore."

My body shook with anger. I couldn't stand being patronized, being manhandled, or being around arrogant soldiers.

"Aw, look at the wittle webel. She's getting a wittle mad."

I growled, fire shooting from both my hands. Both guards yelped. Hands flaming, I grabbed the sword of the soldier in front of me. I twisted it around and drove it through his bottom jaw.

I whirled around, the soldier behind me was screaming like a little girl and running down the street.

"Anaki! Stop! Anaki! Calm down!" Sting was on my shoulder, pleading with me.

"Not now, Sting."

"Anaki! Stop! Think about what you're doing! You're dead if you set the entire town ablaze."

"I'm not going to."

"Look around, Anaki! You've already set that building on fire. What would your Papa say?"

I stopped in my tracks. Sting had pulled the only card that worked on me when I was this angry. Of course he was right though, Papa would be ashamed of me if he could see me stomping through town, murder in my eyes.

I sent a single ball of fire through the air, striking the soldier on the back of the neck, knocking him over, stunning him.

I stomped up to him, grabbed a dagger from his belt, and slit his throat. Turning around angrily, I looked at the disaster area I had left behind me. A building was on fire and there were two soldiers lying in puddles of their own blood. I sighed. This would be a hard mess to clean up.

I quickly ran over to the building, grabbed a large tarp lying nearby, and began smothering out the flames. It took me several minutes, and earned me several severe burns, but I finally managed to put the fire out.

Grimacing, I turned and grabbed the soldier lying nearest me. I managed to manhandle him up onto my shoulders, and staggered sideways, slowly making my way down a path to the river; I tied a large rock to the soldier's ankle and tossed him into a deep part. Panting, I retrieved the other guard, and did the same.

I trudged up to the town once more, glad I was just on a mostly deserted spur, so there weren't many witnesses, and there wasn't anybody on the street. I kicked dirt over the puddles of blood, sopping them up.

Exhaustedly I stumbled down to the river once more, and, upstream of the corpses, took a crude bath, washing the blood from my body; regretting the two runs I had taken earlier.

I finally got back to the hideout, changed out of my wet cloths, and then watched to see who was in the hideout. I was in it deep. Mercury had just warned me against screwing up, on fear of death, and here I was, screwing up again.

"Hey, where's Mercury?" I asked a random Rebel.

"Don't know. I think he went for a walk."

The Rebel wandered off, leaving me considering the best path to take. I knew hiding wasn't an option, Mercury didn't appreciate cowardice; but facing him wasn't an option either, unless, of course, I wanted fried. I shuddered at the thought. I had to kiss up.

I grabbed a cup of coffee and carefully placed it on Mercury's desk. If everything went well, that should put him in a good mood, and, hopefully, the bodies wouldn't ever be found...Hopefully.

I suddenly come out of a dark building right as Theo is leaving after running into that Mercury fella who got too close yet I didn't do anything to him for touching me, I grab Theo's neck just before he runs me down and push him to the ground my gloved hand squeezing his small neck. He gasps for breath then I let go,"Maybe if you'd stop tripping over me I'd stop nearly killing you, and where you going in a hurry any way?" I ask him leaning down and taking a handful of his shirt as I lift him back to his feet. He just pushes me off not answering my question,"Fine what you scared abnormal that the king will get ya? HA!" I smirk and pull him back to face me my eyes turnig into a dazzling sky blue. Then I tip my head to the side as shouting comes from all around us,"Great looks like he really will get ya and me unless you're willing to slit a few throats to try and get back to the base or outta town which by the way is a lot farther away than base so good luck on your own!"
"Wait!",he calls then outta the blue a guard rushes up to him and takes him back down to the ground, I turn back and kick the guard in the jaw knocking him off of the newbie then reach down and pull him out he rest of the way from under the guard as I push him ahead of me keeping a tight grip on his arm as we run dead ahead guards rush us but with one look of my now blood red eyes they're done and out for good. We round another corner further from the base,"Where are you going its back that way!"
"Exactly you want them to find out where it is and risk even more peoples lives?" I yell at him turnig another corner but right as I turn I hit full on into a set of guards that obviously knew how to press the right point and I'm soon out unconciouse even though I still manage to give them plenty of hell before I do and pry even while I'm out cold and Theo gets ganged up on by a few more guards and put out too. I won't be waking up any time soon but Theo sure does just in time to see us dragged up to the throne of the new queen Garnet.

Garnet

The demon within Garnet had finally stopped laughing, Joumager was such a fool. Should have gotten rid of Enzio when he had the chance to do so, but now Enzio was in control of Garnet and Garnet watched helplessly as Enzio controlled Garnets body. The new found prisoners were dragged before Enzio both were unconscious not fully aware of where they were or who sat before them, soon they began to rise as they saw Garnet. The Guards made a B-line for the door before they could be wiped out by Garnet, Enzio watched as they finally got to there feet. They were speechless because of menacing aura that shrouded Garnets body, Enzio stood and approached the edge in which its throne was surrounded by silvery water. The green flame torches danced on the pillars of the throne room as the atmosphere for a foreboding death was set.

"Welcome feeble humans, set eyes upon your new ruler of Aradia Empress Garnet!" Enzio declared.

Garnet herself cringed at that name, she did indeed want the throne. But not if it meant taking her fathers life, tho her father couldn't be dead. He had merely stood there as Enzio dealt the death dealing blow, Garnet recognized when her father wanted something to happen. And he was not dead, but she couldn't allow Enzio know this for it may seek out a way to kill her father again. She couldn't allow that to happen, and it will never happen again he won't die because of her selfishness again. Garnet had to take control of her body once more, even if it means being swallowed by the darkness of her dark sorcery. She needed outside forces to divde the demons attention between her and them, the two that stood before her would not do. Garnet hated to admit this, but she would need the help of the rebels in order to defeat the demon.

"Empress? What happen the the king?!" The boy cried out.

"King Jormunger is dead, killed by own hand!" Enzio exclaimed.

The girl behind him stood finally awake from the guards recent punishment, but they were in far more trouble than being in trouble. Lightning cracked around the girl, she wasn't happy with the fact that the two were ambushed, without thinking she shot lightning at Enzio. But it was a hopeless attempt, Enzio waved Garnets hand in the direction of the shot and darkness absorbed it. When Enzio waved Garnets hand at the boy, lightning shot out of the darkness and at him, striking him down and throwing him to the ground. The girl was surprised by this, and rushed to his aid.

"Theo wake up! Theo!" The girl cried shaking the boy.

But Enzio showed no mercy for the girl as it made her its next target, it pointed Garnets fingers at the girl and she became engulfed in darkness. The floating ball of darkness ascended into the air and began slamming against the pillars, then finally the darkness released the battered and hurt girl at ceiling height. She plumeted to the ground and slammed hard against it, she was barely moving after that. She groaned in pain as she had probably broken a few bones here and there, Enzio did not care as it laughed at the pain it had caused, Garnet cringed at the power of the demon. But soon the door opened, and somebody stepped though they were going in a world of pain.

Gwendolyn E | Her House, Morgan's House.

I woke up, thinking I wanna wake up right now about as much as a rooster wants ta' barks at midday. Darn you Mercury, and your late-night meetings! I got up anyway, brushed my teeth, took a very brief bath, and got dressed in my work clothes. I went outside with a cup of cider and her trimmers and trims up her trees, humming to them. "Alrighty then, I gotta help some a' yer brothers at another place. I'll be back, now, ya' hear?" I say to them, shoving the trimmers in my belt and going back inside to gather the rest of the tools. I then hitched a ride with the farmer from earlier. I made sure to slip a jar of cider into one of his bags before I got off.

I brushed myself off a little bit, and examined Morgan's house. It looked different in broad daylight then in the afternoon. It seemed taller, somehow. I walked up to the door and knocked. I hope Morgan isn't the kind a guy that offers ya a job and then says ya can't have it... Nah, he wouldn't do that. He's got to much of a' kind spirit. I mean, look at all 'is kids. He loves 'em almost as much as he loves our cause. Besides, I do make a mean apple pie... Right? Oh god, I'm nervous...

Morgan Darkrai | His cottage

I was busy making some berry stew for breakfast when I heard a knock. I answered the door. It was the girl I hired to tend my tree. I smiled. "Morning. I know you see that I'm a bit beat, but I'll be fine. I can go for two days without sleep." I let her in. "Before I forget, you make an excellent apple pie. So good, it tasted a lot like my mother used to make. I knew that after the first bite." I returned to the kitchen. "The tree is just outside behind the house. The tree itself's a few feet taller than me, but I'm sure you can handle it. After all, you're the expert on tending trees." I tossed the promised three gold pieces to her. "Take an apple from the tree as a reward when you're done."

I caught the three gold coins, "Sir, yer already over payin' me. And it ain't like I lack apples," she says, walking out back. In the back yard, a small apple tree stubbornly grew out of hard ground. "Ahh, shucks. Aren't you a tough little guy?"I say to the tree, that's bigger than I am. I pat it, "Don't worry, we'll get that ground softer fer ya, get ya some water, and give ya a hair cut, 'kay?" I trimmed up the tree a bit, and heard it sigh. "Thought ya were a bit heavy, huh?" I grin, and walk in to ask Morgan for a hoe.

Morgan Darkrai | His cottage

I was finished with my fair share of the berry stew with my children when my young hired hand came back in. I went in one of the closets to find what was needed. "I'm not that much of a gardener, but I keep the tools for it in case I ever retire from the family trade. Even if I'm as old as time, I'll still go on with my life." I watched her do her magic to the tree. It brought me back to when I first saw Nemesis.
A little child of twelve years old, just out picking apples for whatever it was Mother planned to do with them. I was gathering as many apples as I could, climbing higher in the tree so I wouldn't miss even one apple. I climbed until a branch broke from under me and I fell out of the tree. I almost thought I was going to fall and get hurt when I felt leather under me. When I opened my eyes, it was a blue dragon holding me with her wing. We became friends and kept our friendship from my parents. Even now, after twenty-four years of being together, we were still as close as true friends can be.
I sighed as I looked at the tree before me. It looked more alive than it did before. No doubt my hired hand was a master of her own trade, as I was the master of the family trade of bladesmithing. I was impressed. Very impressed. "You must be the master of your trade. I've never seen a tree more alive in my life."

Gwendolyn E | Morgan's Apple Tree.

I blushed at his compliment, "When it comes to apple trees, sir, I've been doing it my whole life. When I was born, my dad put an apple in my hand and basically prayed I'd take an earth element. Never regretted it a day in m' life. Yer tree's just alittle thirsty, and havin' trouble growin' in this dirt." * took the hoe and began carefuly stabbing the ground to make the dirt more lose. It was harder than I thought it would be; like trying to poke holes in steel. I frowned and put my back into it more. I managed to free it up a bit and leaned against the tree. "Yer a strong sucker aren't ya?" I said to it, letting some magic flow through me into the tree. Grow big, live free, and make some apples fer me.
