Mount Olympus [3]

Rayah

I nod at Jace and Jackie bites her lip, looking down at her stomach. I watch her, "What's his middle name?"

She shrugs, looking back up at me, "Haven't really thought of that yet."

I nod, "Make it amazing."

She nods, flashing a smile, "We will. What's yours?" She asks me.

I bite my lip, thinking, "I think it's Danielle."

She nods, "Awesome."

I shrug and sigh, glancing around.

Jace

I flash a smile at them and lean against the wall, jumping when Alyx returns.

"I have to borrow Jace for a few minutes," he tells the girls before grabbing my wrist and making us disappear.

Rayah

I watch Jace leave, Jackie swallowing as she looks down, "That...That isn't a good sign."

I sigh and scoot next to her, wrapping my arms around her and resting my chin on her shoulder, "I bet he's fine."

Jace

When I can see again, Nic is propped up against a warehouse wall and Halee is cuddled at his side.

"What's the -- "

"Shut up and take Halee back to her mother," he groans, "Jacks is gonna be worried sick."

I take Halee in my arms and Alyx grips my wrist.

"Tell them Nic'll be back in a few minutes," he whispers, "Nothing is wrong. Tell them that."

He flashes me back and I hand Jackie her daughter, telling her what Alyx told me to.

Rayah

We both nod at what Jace says when he comes back with Halee, who is shocked beyond belief.

She doesn't move, not one muscle, and a tear runs down her cheek, "Daddy..."

Jackie runs to her, scooping her up before hushing her and cradeling her.

Jace

I sit beside Rayah and take her hand, looking over the twins as if they were the ones who disappeared.

Rayah

I look at Jace, What happened?

Jace

I look at Rayah and then at Jackie and Halee. I don't know, Ray. I really don't. All I know is that Nic is either exhausted or hurt...

Just as I finish, Alyx returns with Nic, who looks stiff and uncomfortable. He slowly makes his way to Jackie and Halee, wrapping his arms around them and apologizing.

Rayah

I nod and sigh, cuddling against him.

Jackie practically tackles Nic, hugging him right, "Where the hell were you?!"

Jace

I kiss the top of Rayah's head and check on the kids again. Nic almost falls over, somehow managing to keep his balance.

"I just... spazzed out, I guess. I don't know," he tells her, "It's only happened once before."

Rayah

Just wait. Jackie is going to start yelling at him. Happens to me all the time when I do something like that... I tell Jace.

Sure enough, Jackie let's go, "What. The. Living. F*ck?!" She throws a fit, "I was worried...like hell! I was about to literally call the police, and then, get the whole army to go out looking for you! Get you're f*cking a*s on the couch. And stay there!"

I chuckle, shaking my head. She's not even done yet.

Jace

I watch, noticing how bothered Nic gets at that. He shakes his head before coming and sitting on the couch.

"Fall through a four story building and survive just to be flipped out at..." he mutters, running a hand over his face.

Rayah

I look at Nic and shake my head quickly, Don't say anything. She'll only get worse. Trust me. It's horrible and she'll only stop once you listen.

"Hah, yeah, you know why I'm flipping out at you?!"

Nic says nothing.

"Because you didn't f*cking tell me, where the hell you were! If anything, you should've just TOLD me beforehand, or before the fact we were dating, that tends to happen a lot, so I wouldn't have a freaking heart attack after it happens!"

Jace

I flash a smile, finding it amusing Nic hasn't snapped yet. He looks up at Jackie and bites his tongue, trying to compose himself first.

"I told you, it only happened once before," he says as calmly as possible, "And this situation was nothing like it was when it did. I didn't know that I would ever freak out like I did. I'm sorry."

Rayah

I look at Nic, Have I taught you nothing? I told you not to say anything!

"Bullsh*t!" She yells back, "You should've still told me about the f*cking time you did freak out. It still would have made an freaking difference."

Wow. She's never gone this far before.

I look at Jackie, "Jackie, calm down he's--"

"Shut the living f*ck up, Rayah!" she looks at me.

I flinch, hiding behind Jace, "Okay then."
