Oh sh*t. This is gonna get ugly...

I take Rayah's hand and watch Nic stand and run a hand through his hair as he listens to his wife.

"I said I'm sorry!" he raises his voice, showing more restraint than I ever thought possible for him, "What more do you want from me?!"

Rayah

I watch, scared what to do.

Jackie keeps her ground, not taking one step towards him...yet, "What I want is for you to be honest with me! If it happened once, you should've been cautious once you know it's probrably going to happen again! What you're telling me is complete bullsh*t!"

I look at Halee. She's playing with Riley and Logan. Thank god. It'd be horrible to see her parents like that...

Jace

"Well I'm sorry if I didn't think that I'd see my hands covered in someone's blood again!" Nic snaps back, standing his ground, "I'm sorry if I refused to believe that I would ever hate someone so much as to want that!"

He's dead. If he didn't tell her about that... god, he's dead.

Rayah

Oh my god...

Jackie goes silent, "I can't belive this..." She shakes her head, "When you decide it's time to tell me the truth about everything you havent told me, then I'll be at my sisters house. When you decide it's time to tell you're wife everything, then feel free to tell me. Because I just can't even look at you anymore."

Her eyes grow watery as she scoops up Halee, walking out without another word.

Well. Um. This is depressing.

Jace

I don't respond to Rayah, though I agree, and study Nic as he watches his family walk out the door.

"You... why didn't you tell her that?" I ask.

He looks at me, his eyes broken.

"I don't think 'Honey, I murdered my best friend' is good dinner talk, Ja," he replies, shaking his head at himself and heading to the door, "I didn't think it mattered anymore...."

He hesitates before chasing after Jackie and Halee.

Rayah

I watch him leave, shifting uncomfortably. He murdered his best friend...

Nic runs after us and I shake my head, "Get the f*ck away from me, Nic," I mutter, shaking my head as I cry my heart out, "I don't want to talk to you anymore right now."

Jace

I study Rayah, kissing her temple, "It's not what you think, Ray. It was self-defense... sort of. Well, he thought I was dead...and that his best friend was the killer. This was just after we lost Alyx. It's... not that bad."

I step in front of her and cut her off, pleading with my eyes for her to stop, "Please, Jacks. I-I didn't... I need to explain things. I didn't want you to think I was any worse than I am because of it. I didn't want you to hold it against me. Everyone else always did. Except Jace... but he was there, so it's different. Please, Jacks. Just hear me out."

Rayah

I nod, "Oh..."

I shake my head, "You f*cking didn't tell me Nic!" I tell at him, "Give me three good reasons why I should let you explain to me, when you had the chance to nine years ago! I gave you nine freaking years of time!"

Jace

I nod and look at the door, "Would you ever get that angry at me for something like that?"

I swallow and look at Halee and then Jackie's stomach before facing her again, "Because you didn't tell me about Gray. Because I didn't press about your first pregnancy. And because I'm a idiotic a**hole who thought that I could bury the past and never have to dig it back up..."

Rayah

I shake my head, "Nah...It's the past."

I look at him, "You are such a b*tch!" I shake my head, "I did tell you about Gray, I did tell you about my pregnancy, and I sure as hell agree with you on that last one," I push past him, Halee giggling and playing with my hair.

Jace

I sigh of relief and mutter, "Good, 'cause there's so much you don't know..."

I swallow and catch up with her again, walking backwards in front of her, "Not the whole story. You didn't tell me who or what happened with the pregnancy; you just said you lost the baby in high school. You didn't tell me that Gray was a psychopathic pervert who rapes every girl he sees, and that you and him had history until he'd almost hurt you."

Rayah

I face him and sit crossed legged, "So tell me, Jacey," I flash a smile.

I look at him, "That wasnt as bad as killing someone was it?"

I'm this close to just flipping out and take a deep breath, "It was my life. I told you enough of the story. You didn't need to know the freaking details. I think not telling me at all, is worse then that."

I shake my head and keep walking, composing myself.

Jace

I look at her and swallow. Ah...f*ck. I clear my throat, "What... do you want to know?"

I flinch at her words and take a step back, my eyes watering, "I didn't want to remember it, Jackie... I didn't want to push you away. My f*cking brother, my true best friend, had just died and his closest replacement tried to kill Jace. I had no one. That b*stard hurt a child, Jacks. Jace was only eight years old. I thought he was dead..."

Rayah

I smile, "Everything you haven't told me."

I shake my head, "But he's not, is he?" I wait, "No. He isn't. Just...leave me alone. I...I can't trust you anymore," I hold Halee closer, getting to my sister's house.

Jace

I study her, "Where do you want me to start? I... don't know."

I take a step back and wipe my eyes before either of them could see me crying. I cross my arms insecurely and try to form words.

"I...I didn't know that then," I whisper, "I didn't know."
